As for the letters: In AC and probably WW, letters were delivered at 5PM and [?]6AM. I can confirm the 5PM delivery time for AC:CF. Around that time you can see Pete, the postman, delivering letters (on foot too!) around town and you can talk to him.

For trees: I can't confirm the 100% rate for axing a tree and planting it there, but I can confirm that very rarely if ever does it grow in a place where you can't walk all the way around the hole the fruit is going into.

I still need Oranges and Pears (That was the other fruit I couldn't remember), so hopefully in a few days I can start selling them to Nook the Cheapskate for many, many bells.

Online play warmed my heart as it was very satisfying to steal everyone else's fish they were trying to get for 5 minutes :lol: then they had to go get a Lobster which I don't have :bomb:
 
Thinking im gonna pick up the sick bundle for $40 amazon is offering on black friday. Seems like a good deal. Anyone have any insight

i agree with strell and people not buying the bundles including the wii speak...everyone wanted to be able to talk and now you can and no one wants too... o well...wish i had the game now want to try it out...never played an animal crossing...guess i will just have to wait till black friday

I choose to blame Nintendo for not having any kind of damn way to send messages instantly to people, because even if I sent you a letter, there's no way you'd have gotten it before now.

People are hoping Amazon will match Target's sale on Boom Blox for $20 as well.

Man, I'd buy 'em and tell people that owe me gifts to just pay me back and that I took all the guess work out for them.

Very nice, I checked deals for B&M stores a few weeks ago or so and I didn't see anything too amazing.

Leave it to Amazon to deliver, and of course for me to be pretty broke when Black Friday hits (like every year)
 
Man, these Amazon deals are almost pissing me off. I really got to stop buying games at retail (even with cheap store credit). But Boom Blox is $20 at Target, eh? Maybe I can get in on that at least (hopefully via Amazon or a Gamecrazy price match as no way I'm going to Target before noon).

Keeping this on topic, I'd much rather kick back and play AC than go anywhere on Friday. I ran around 2 years ago and it was not worth the effort or hassle that's for sure. Last year I did something way better - my youngest son was born on Black Friday. But because of the way Thanksgiving hops around he turned 1 on Sunday already.

Is there anything special that happens in AC on Thursday? I thought I saw some animal mention a harvest festival. I never really played the other games around this time of year (got original AC with the Gamecube for the kids in Dec 2003 thus played through about May regularly and then dropped it and AC:WW came out in Dec, and, strangely enough, lasted till about May also...).
 
I don't think I'll bite on any of the BF deals. Too many games to play = I'll just concentrate on the ones I have now.

I'm not sure what exactly will happen Thursday, but what I remember from the old AC titles is that typically on holidays, the mayor comes out and gives you something. Expect something Thanksgiving-related?

In the GC version, there was a turkey that would hide behind buildings and trees and whatnot. If you went up to him, it was like "finding" him, and he'd give you a piece of the Harvest Festival furniture set. So if you did it multiple times, you could get lots of stuff that was worth big HRA points.

I imagine the same thing will happen here.

Tortimer will definitely give you something special, though I'm not 100% sure what. Maybe a town model of some kind?

Also, people will be chilling outside talking about food.

I love this game so damn much.

Yeah, I was just thinking about how frustrating that is. I think it would be great if Nintendo could implement a Wii IM channel or even as an addition to the Wii Speak channel. Use that to enable keyboard or WS support in various other games down the road, that enables everyone to chat live. Hell, even just a way to send messages to friends' message boards faster or something would be nice.

Of course, we'd still have to deal with friend code or Wii code nonsense, but those of us who've made it this far pretty much put up with it at this point.

On the Wii Speak discussion: I wanted to wait for other's impressions of Wii Speak before I actually decided to shell out the money for it (and I also wanted to see what Nintendo could do with it in the future). Well, I was pretty much sold on Wii Speak after last week's shenanigans, as well as playing with others that do have it.

Sure my USB keyboard works great and would probably still be my preferred way to play, but having the option of being able to do silly things like play rock-paper-scissors and whatnot appeals to me. Now I'm contemplating on sucking it up and shelling out the 30 bucks or picking up the game from Amazon's BF sale and gifting the game itself to someone for $10 more. Or just wait on an eventual deal on WiiSpeak by itself.

EDIT: To Strell (and any other CAG's for that matter) would exchanging Wii codes for message board letters help with being able to send AC messages to each other? That way, if we ever ran into a situation like this agian, we could have a fighting chance of being able to meet up. Of course, I don't know actually how fast it would be to get messages, as I don't do it often, just wondered it it'd be a viable option. Anyway, anyone that's interested, PM me your Wii code or somethin'

It's too bad we couldn't get my oldest (the one in trouble for messing up the town) on speaker tonight. We found out today both he and the baby have strep and while he feels pretty good, his voice is shot - would have been interesting to hear him I think ;). He did express disappointment that he hasn't talked to you in a few days, Strell.

In other news, I had a marathon Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party session tonight with my 5 year-old so didn't play too much AC. We used a free Blockbuster rental on that and are trying to finish it before we have to bring it back. Actually, we got the credits tonight but still have a few minigames left to play.

Woke up to some good developments in my town. I now have a Nook n'Go. He had a sling shot but no axe and am now growing Peaches, Pears, Apples and, Cherries. Once I get that axe it'll be time to redesignate certain areas for orchard growth and finally put order to the town!
 
Orchard, as in the most efficient way to grow foreign fruit. Start in the top left corner of your town. []=don't plant, O=plant foreign fruit:

Surprisingly, woke up, and Nook is closed for remodeling. I guess I didn't get the memo and my brother kept it to himself. Cool. Not sure if I'll have the chance to play tonight, but what are peoples' turnip prices?

I'm really tired of the double standards I see going on so much lately. Being worried about what people in the room would hear online? Ok Dallow. Because you were going to be playing these games with other people around, and the people online were actually going to talk to you.

It aint worthless. No one wants to use it. There's a difference. And again, had it not been an option, everyone would have been up in arms whining like children.

Much like everyone is doing now.
