Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info
Hi, I don't have this game... I bought it for my girl though. I've played the Gamecube version before... anyway...

On the AC website, there is a Tom Nook code. How do you enter this code?

Oh, and also... a few more questions.

When people ask her to give them an item, should she always give it to them? How does this work?
Second, I assume she has to be nice to people to be invited to the furniture store, is this just a random character or somebody specific?
I didn't see these earlier.

You don't HAVE to give them the items they are looking for, and I suspect there are times when they ask for things you can't get without the help of outside players, either that they mail it to you or you go to their town to get it. I know one guy asked me for a shirt I never saw in my stores, for example.

They will express disappointment but they won't be upset about it for long, and it won't alter the game in any noticeable way. You'll miss out on a reward, which will be a piece of furniture or clothing or some bells - nothing special or major.

The furniture store that needs an invitation - Crazy Redd's in the city - can be obtained by random chance if you talk to characters here and there. I think you try to get into the store, get denied, and then a character in your town will ask you about it and send you an invitation. Or you can have someone on your Friends List send it.

I dunno about that Tom Nook code thing.

I just found out you can store 16 drawers full of stuff in dressers. Wow....and i think there is 8 slots per drawer, which is 128 items total. Thats if i remember correctly.

Damn my nook is closed tomorrow for remodeling.

Music....i sent you a letter. ;)

Oh and i scored a mole cricket.

Small discovery, but you can add more points fpr that point system in Nook's store by going on that computer point thing and asking for visitor points. Do this in your friend's Nook's, more points. Horrah.

It's 10 slots per drawer, actually ;).

So, Ramstoria came over to visit and he noticed something right away - said my "ground was all torn up". I didn't know what he was talking about at first but then I noticed that all the nice non-dirt areas had patchy paths run through them all - all in the places we tend to run. My son had set the clock to Dec 28th, 2035 and I set it back to tomorrow (since my other kids had bumped it up to then earlier and I didn't want to go back to today before Nook and my house got upgraded - afraid of what that might do). I guess when he played, or when I set it back, it added 27 years of wear and tear on the ground. I had no idea you could wear paths into your ground, but apparently you can (don't remember this on the GC or DS games). I'm hoping it comes back because it looks terrible in places and will look really bad once the ground is green in spring.

Needless to say once I figured that out the youngun responsible got sent to an early bed and he probably won't be playing this for a while. He always messes with games like this and knows he shouldn't do things like that. Who knows how else this will mess us up in terms of getting things you get one time, etc... For example, he apparently got a statue sent in the mail for playing the game for one year . Now, who knows if the rest of us will get this or not. No one else played it in 2035 but him, so maybe we're OK. Still, I am pissed. This is the same kid who recklessly started new games in my Rogue Leader game saves where I had worked like mad to get gold medals on several missions. He was aided in that by some piss-poor user interface design and at the time was a lot younger so he couldn't read what he was doing, but still, the pattern continues. Oh, he's also the one who wasted a SSBB hammer on unlocking something stupid. And he definitely knew what he was doing then and today with AC.

To top it all off, the Wii wouldn't recognize any discs when I first started it up - they just spun around and it never decided between Wii or GC. I had to power cycle it to get it to take Animal Crossing. Now I'm a bit worried about the drive on that thing...

Io, if you plant trees/flowers where the grass is worn out, and avoid those areas when you're walking through town, it will supposedly grow back over time. Of course, I don't know how long it'll take to undo 27 years of wear and tear on the ground as you've said.

My Nook's had the sweet stuff upon upgrading today. Ax, slingshot, and silver fishing rod. Of course, I went on a rampage with my ax and already broke it.

Animal Crossing I think. In the GameCube game you could enter codes to Tom Nook to trade and receive items.

I got my new store today!

Sold my fish for 11 grand, and bought the axe!

Then the power went out! And lost everything!

Yipee!

:(
Hope it's fixed by the time I get home.

Um...what do I do with Mushrooms, exactly?

Anyways, my Apple Trees are growing, and I'm closing in on paying off my first mortgage. It's still addictive as ever it seems. I still need a Redd Invitation, though. I also need a Bug Catching Net as there are a ton of bugs in this place.

If you've got me in your FC list, I can send an invite to Redd's. Pretty sure I've got you in mine but I'll go check right now.

I need an invite to redds. I thought Nook would invite me to his place once i upgraded enough.

I don't think Nook would invite you to Redd's, I hear they don't get along so well...

I just put you on my Friends Rosters Strell. If you still need mine, let me know.

Turnip Prices are 134 for Nook, right now.

I left my gates open after my lunch break.

I have 2 coconuts, in addition to an army of cherries lying out. All I ask for in return is replace any fruits you take with a non-cherry fruit. Turnip price post-noon was pretty bad too, 60 something bells if I recall. My Nook's is upgraded as well, but I've already snagged some of the more interesting items but there's still some stuff left.

BlueLobstah, my FC is...

I have Peaches. I'll be there post haste. I need to see if they have a Bug Catching Net, too.
135!! wow. I bought mine at 95.. This is my first week doing the Turnip market.. is that a descent profit?
not really, but it's nice to make SOME profit. last week, before I had any turnips at all Nook was buying at 350 one day.

on the DS, the REALLY profitable days was when you'd see a spike hit 800+ bells per turnip. i left my gates open for a guy who was timetraveling (it was sunday in his town), and he left me a couple bags of money with every trip he made back and forth for the whole evening.

i made quite a bit of money that day. probably wouldn't do it now, as i think i have a little more time-traveling ethic.

Just remember that Nook usually has higher turnip prices in the morning than in the afternoon.

Does anyone have a Bug Catching Net available in their Nook store? I really need one.

I can send an invite to Redd's if you want. Two people asked for it though.. so whoever posts after this gets it? =d

I'mma hit up the Wii and check up on my turnip prices, yo.

Unfortunately, I'm at work now so I can't add you. And Nook has a bug net too I believe.

Everything is in my Signature

EDIT: Seeing as no signature popped up...0302-3393-7448

EDIT 2: Okay, I got your FC info. Do I come to your town, or are you coming to mine?
Redd Invite Get!
Can you add me and open your gates? Here's my FC info:
FC: 4382-5543-9234
Name: Pickle
Town: Windurst
Fruit: Apples
you were travis right?
Yeah, that's me. I left your town. Pretty nice. I wonder how you customized your Town Gate, though. Or if it's randomized this time around (unlike last time which had no customization).

EDIT: Shinryuu, I shall do so in a minute.

EDIT 2: The hatches are open!
Please make sure to mail that invite, Shinryuu :)
Yeah I mailed it in your town. If you restart, you'll probably get it in the mail. =p

I can has in? Sundays are kinda rushed so I only had time to buy 100 turnips lol. I can bring cherries.FC 2578-6618-2080

I'll be on around 5 or so. I still haven't received Shinryuu's Redd Invitation yet, either. Maybe it's because I have WC24 standby off.

Sure, if anyone wants in to sell some Turnips, just let me know. I won't charge unlike ungrateful posters at Gamefaqs do. Although that is pretty much the best way to get money.

I has a Redd invite too if you need that.

Sorry for not updating op for a long time, busy as hell. Ill update it on a weekly basis now starting on one of the next few days. And just throwing it out there in regards to the post number: HOLY CRAP!

I'm opening up my gates right now for those that want to enter. I'm going to be stepping away for a few minutes, so that's why I'm opening it up a bit early.

Just a few things:
- Don't step on the flowers, especially dying ones. Water those. It helps.
- I have Peaches, and am growing Apple Trees.
- Nook's Turnip Prices are 134 currently.

I don't think it has to do with WC24. It's the mail-- I don't know how it works, but it'll take awhile to get through. When my brother sent me the Redd invite, he mailed at noon, but I didn't get it until night. =p

Just be patient, you don't want to waste other peoples' invites that get sent to you later. I think Redd gives the person who invited you 1k if the invitation goes through well.

Whoa.

Ramstoria, where did you get the AC font? I wants it.

Also I have a Mush Stand if you want it. That thing is scary.

Also, does anyone have any tips for planting fruit trees? I think I'm about 60% success rate. Is it a spacing thing? If you run on the sapling, does it die? Does watering help? Etc etc.

i got it from this website, it had a tutorial on how to make it wood like to appear like on the game, when i get home i can post hte link. i forgot what the font is called, something heavy i think.

yes, id love a mush stand. i have a spare bed, lamp and wall if you need em.

as for fruit trees, if you chop down an existing tree and plant a tree where the stump is there is a 100% success rate. thats how it was in acww, and i planted maybe 25 or so yesterday doing that and they all grew today, none died.
