going to be a slow week in Memphis. . My power went out Sunday night, and my bedroom clock lost power. My morning routine was destroyed, and before i remembered to go buy turnips it was 1:30...

Oh well, I guess I can always cross animals next week.

Anyone need the following fossils?
-Mammoth skull
-Ankylo torso
-Seismo tail
-Pachy torso

Also, I think my game is broken!! Last 4 days all I can find are 3 fossils and a pitfall, no gyroids. I've looked behind EVERY tree and building by pushing "up" and can't find the gyroids.
All the previous days I found 3 fossils, 2 gyroids, and 1 pitfall.

You can't overwater, you just need to make sure the water is getting on the flower.

Also make sure you don't run over a brown flower, as it will tear up immediately.



On another note, I've made arrangements to trade this game off at the end of the week. I should have my golden watering can by then. I want to make sure I have it by Friday, as it will be a lot harder to get later on if I decide to get this game again, since my town will be overrun by weeds. I've got the 500k bells that I saved up for the fountain, but I'm just putting it in the bank to collect interest for my possible future return.
 
I think I'm nearing the Tree per Acre requirement for a Perfect Town run. I believe I need like 3 trees in 2 or 3 acres. I just need about 40-50 more flowers though, which is going to be the hard part. I'm going to have to pickup each flower, store them in my house until I have enough, and then I can begin the run.

Well, I probably need all of those seeing how my museum has barely anything yet (but I'd need to check to see what I have - I can't remember), but I don't have any duplicates to give in return. About all I could offer is a variety of fruits in a few days once they finish growing (I hope), some still laying on the ground not yet planted, and as many cherries as you want right now, plus voluminous well wishes and all the fish you can catch. The Wii is just barely arriving at the repair center today. Sorry Jason, I don't know what's up with my letters. Sometimes they go instantly and sometimes they never show up :lol: Maybe it needs to complete a mailing cycle before it gets sent? And then I need to turn it on after that? I know I've received letters from friends at like 12am so that doesn't make sense at all.

But I mailed your letters around 5pm right before I boxed the wii up. I mailed Knoximus his letter on Decemeber 31st. I guess none of them arrived :bomb: Sorry guys.
 
I thought she had her Wii back already. My bad.

I was wondering though if it had something to do with you actually having to turn your Wii on again, which really doesn't make much sense.

I have to presume that mail only gets sent outside if you go outside or open your gate or otherwise connect to Nintendo WiFi. I would presume that any time it is going to connect to Nintendo WiFi, which it would have to do in order to send a letter to another person's town, it would tell you that it was connecting to Nintendo WiFi, and the only times I see it ever doing that is when you either open the gate or look for open gates. I'm not sure, though. Maybe it does some behind the scenes connecting without telling you. I appears to me, at least, that friends lists don't update until you do one or the other of those things, so I'm guessing mail is the same way.
 
I sent mail to someone last night and even visited his town just a few minutes ago. He still didn't get my mail though. Hmm.

I don't know if I'd want to mail anything anymore if people are having problems on the receiving end. I'll just do deliveries or have people pick things up when they're in my town.

doesn't the super special "repair mode" they put the wii in when it goes in for repairs disable the message board?

So I got perfect town status yesterday, and got my Golden Watering Can. I then set up a mule and got a second.

A short while back I saw mention that someone of finding out if a painting was real or fake. How is that done? I bought a painting at Redd's and took it to the museum figuring that is where this would be done, but there is no such option. I took it to Tom Nook's and he offered a pittance for it. Does that imply that it's fake? I ended up donating it to the museum to see if they would take it and they did gladly. Does that imply that it was real? I'm confused. I'm also out about 3300 bells, but it does look nice in the museum. :)

Oh - and thanks to Paul for giving me the invite to Redd's. I didn't understand what it was that you sent me at the time. I just found out about Redd's yesterday. I also bought a nifty campfire from him.

If the museum accepted the painting, then it was real. Otherwise, Blathers would have had a hissy fit and clearly pointed out that the painting was a forgery.

Well there was a trick in the DS version (not sure if it works in City Folk) where you buy the painting from Redd and then check your catalog with Nook. If the painting is legit, it will be listed in your catalog. If not, then it is a forged painting and you can sell it to Nook before having it appraised (which lowers the value of the painting.)

This, but it doesn't work for City Folk since you can't buy paintings in this game. And I seem to recall Tom Nook being able to spot fakes too in WW.

I just found Wisp's lamp in my town today! Does anyone know if he gives any rare pieces of furniture??

Or should I just save the lamp, TT to get my snow back and use him to get rid of weeds?

Hey guys, its been a while since I posted on here. My laptop (primary computer) died, as in, doesn't work anymore, so I need to post this from my wii (though I did buy a spiffy new keyboard at Walmart for 11 bucks). Anywhoo, Ill update the OP when I get the next opportunity, though to be honest I dont care about the game quite as much as I once did (My current gaming addictions are Home trolling and LittleBigPlanet). I hope I can get back into this game though eventually at some point 'sigh'.
 
I finally got my Silver Axe today. Stupid wench telling me she'd give me a Golden Axe when she didn't have any. Grr. I'll get her next time.

Yes, you could order them from your catalog. Nook sold them for about half the price of what Redd sold them for.

He might only come the same day you found the lamp. When I found my first one, I didn't play at night but I played other nights and never saw him. When I found a second lamp I made sure to play that night and he was there. I picked for him to give me an item and he gave me a stupid violin. Which isn't rare, and I already had one :cry: Maybe it's random what he gives you? There was also an option to refuse a reward. I wonder if he would have given me a rare item then.

Anyone up to playing right now? I got no school today because of a mini ice storm (That only means less time on midterms prep :( ) and I decided to check up on my town if anyone wants to chill.
 
Just ran through my town real quick. Tried the axe in the fountain and she told me she was going to give me a golden axe for being honest, then he lied and didnt. Then she said again how she was going to give me a golden axe, and lied again. She didnt even give me my axe back. :cry:
 
FYI, I tend to play most evenings (I'm on the East coast) and tend to check if any gates are open and then, if not, open my gate. All are welcome, though you'll need to add me to your FC list. I do have about 10 people now that seem to have added me, though 4 of them are hollow hearts - what does a hollow heart mean in the friends list?

Note that I'm not a night owl during the work week - I've got to get up pretty early in the morning. If I'm playing on work night it's usually between (very) roughly 8:30 and 9:30, though admittedly I tend to end up staying up later then I should. I expect to have the gate open tonight, so stop on by if you'd like. PM me if you want me to add you to my friends list, but also just try adding me as I have a lot of people on my list that haven't added me yet and you may well be one of them.
