I wonder if the people who made the Condemned drew inspiration from Battle Royale? The premise shares a lot of similarities.
More likely from The Most Dangerous Game. At least they picked something that's proven to work to rip-off.
More likely from The Most Dangerous Game. At least they picked something that's proven to work to rip-off.
My favorite Most Dangerous Game rip-off was the one with Ice-T. Charles S. Dutton got his legs blown off and was left a quivering torso on the ground in a hilarious scene. You haven't lived until you've seen 50% of Roc laying on the ground going into shock while rambling on about how they should have brought more pigs to the island.
I bet Eugene is getting a haircut tonight.
Ya, I was telling my buddy that after we watched Vince parade out the Barber Pole. Oh well, it's probably for the best, Dinsmore was losing his hair anyway. Almost looked like he had some sort of weave deal going on the top of his head to cover up some of his bald spot.

Hopefully this leads to Eugene getting back on TV again, er rather Dinsmore getting back on TV, he's a good wrestler IMO, saddled with a really dead-end gimmick.

Anyone else besides me notice that Melina cut the best promo of her career tonight? I guess legit backstage heat translates to good onstage promos for her, either way, if I were her I'd find a way to draw upon those emotions in the future.
yup a few of us will be there..

wheres the amway arena?
Formally known as the TD Waterhouse Centre.

It's in downtown Orlando.
o ok.. waterhouse and amway are the same
Yeah, the contract with TD ran out and Amway signed on to take over.
Yeah, the contract with TD ran out and Amway signed on to take over.
Ah okay, it's been a great while since I've been to a Magic game (damn you T-Mac) and my interest in the NBA has waned significantly in the past few years. Either way, I'm going to Wrestlemania! How much are tickets on average?

ill prob end up getting in on one of those packages that wwe sells that include everything....

awesome we are getting some wrestlng love..

survivor series in november

wrestlemania in march/april!

Well, looks like Cena & HBK will have the tag titles going into WM. There was a commercial during Raw last night for the Raw after WM(sales must be bad if they're advertising in the Cincy area, when it's in Dayton).

The main event will be Cena & HBK defending the world tag team titles against Rated RKO.

The WWE Magazine also features a short article on Bob Holly. Bob Holly not being featured in many WrestleMania events was brought up and Bob responded; "It would bother anybody, especially when you know you have the talent. It's not due to the lack of talent, it's not due to being unpopular with the fans. It's due to somebody somewhere who doesn't like me."

Ha.
If anyone is a Bob Holly fan, they should murder themselves.
I said it before, and I'll say it again.

Not even Bob Holly is a Bob Holly fan. Molly Holly's selling real estate right now just to get away from being a Holly.

Well, I liked the team of Crash and Bob Holly. The "super heavyweight" gimmick and hardcore title defenses at any time was mildy amusing.

Contrary to everything I've ever said, I was watching the 2006 Royal Rumble yesterday. #1 and #2 are Guerrero and Benoit, and #3 is Daniel Puder (in his first - and only, I think - WWE match). Guerrero and Benoit work with the crowd as they proceed to "welcome" Puder.

They Hardcore Holly's music hits. He's #4.

Now, he was the guy who roughed up Matt Capotelli (?) during Tough Enough 1 or 2, so smarts and regular fans alike know that he's a bully, and a bully who hates rookies. The crowd popped immensely for him, as they knew Puder was going to get hurt.

I hate to see it, but it made perfect sense and I liked the way it was arranged. That's about the only time I'll say that about Holly.

I think Puder had some heat that night for moving Holly's gym bag off a bench in the dressing room or something of the sort.

The Tough Enough beating was season 3.

WWE.com has an update on Triple H.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/gamesrecoverycontinues
"I'm not in rehab. Do you see Britney Spears sitting on the table next to me?," laughed The Game when asked about his rehabilitation. "I'm in physical therapy, and it's a lot of hard work. But that's what I have got to do to get back to 100 percent, and get back in the ring."
 @ the Britney Spears line.

dont knock on him... puder's the man!!

And now for some TNA news courtesy of TNAWrestlingNews.com and brought to you by:

"Rocky Balboa" now available on DVD from MGM Home Entertainment.

Kip James and B.G. James both asked to be released from their TNA contracts several weeks back so they could return to WWE.

Management, however, refused to let them out of their contract.

UK's The Sun did an interview with Chris Benoit where a good amount of issues are brought up including TNA.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2006300002-2007130062,00.html

Speaking on our most recent WrestleCast The Crippler blasted a recent TNA Impact broadcast, fuming: "I was appalled. I could not believe the show they put on."

Personally, I marked out when he sandbagged like a fuck-ass, causing Lesnar to break his neck -- oh, and when Angle broke Holly's arm.

Those are the times when I'll say that about Holly. ;)

Also, get the James Gang the fuck out of TNA. That shit is garbage.
Also, get the James Gang the fuck out of TNA. That shit is garbage.
Oh, I hear that. There's no way the WWE will hire them back, except to humiliate them.

Let them overcharge for appearances at small midwestern shithole town bookings for about 6 months; that's about all they deserve.

Over 24 WWE guys were hit with drug tests this afternoon, apparently.

Though I'm sure you won't see any suspensions until after 'Mania.

I was shocked you were the first post here talking about it. It even made Sportscenter, PTI, and Around the horn where they pretty much laughed it off:lol:

Some names mentioned were Edge (get the fuck out of the WWE), Orton (I Hate You), and some others I can't remember.

Why hasn't Scott Steiner been caught yet? It's so fucking apparent it's not funny.
stop it...

steiners natural!!!!
He's a genetic freak!

Is it strange that when I get a PS3, I'm almost set on making my online ID "Big Poppa Pump"?

Some others name that I heard that they mentioned on various ESPN shows were

-Eddie Guerrero
-Rey Mysterio
-The Hurricane
-Kurt Angle

That pounce sell ruled! Is it just me or does it look like Sabu borrowed some of Daivari's pants?

YES! Sheik was announced for the HoF, and kudos to WWE for doing such a perfect job on his video package. If anyone wants to see the clip where Eddie Creachman got burned while standing in front of Mark Lewin, it's on the Wrestling Gold DVD set in full, and looks better than it did while broadcast on this show. I wonder who owns the Big Time Wrestling footage, as it was included on that set but also given an Courtesy Of... credit on this show, which makes me think that WWE doesn't own it yet. Maybe Sabu does and he allowed them to use it.

As for this whole steroid issue, Kurt has stated since that piece first came out that his steroids were obtained legally. He neglected to mention that he was busted for HORSE STEROIDS, which are not approved for human consumption.

Change of plans, Wrestlemania 24 is going to be held at the Citrus Bowl not the Amway Arena.

It's official: WrestleMania, professional wrestling's Super Bowl, is coming to Orlando next spring, and the announcement will be Wednesday morning downtown.

The flagship event for World Wrestling Entertainment, the largest company in pro wrestling, will be March 30 at the Citrus Bowl.

"Bringing the Super Bowl of sports entertainment to our community is something that the City of Orlando and the Central Florida Sports Commission have been building towards for the last six months," John Saboor, president of the Central Florida Sports Commission, told the Sentinel. "We are tremendously proud to have attracted the WWE's iconic event. It promises to be an exciting year in Orlando leading up to WrestleMania 24."

WrestleMania has grown into a global sensation. In less than two weeks, on April 1, WrestleMania 23 at Detroit's Ford Field will host fans from 23 countries, all 50 states and nine Canadian provinces. Millions more in 90 countries will watch it on pay-per-view.

According to figures generated by the Central Florida Sports Commission, WrestleMania 24 is expected to pump an estimated $25 million into the local economy, while creating jobs and generating the type of excitement that a world- class event brings to a world-class city.

Wrestling isn't in its heyday anymore, but millions of fans still watch the television shows and attend events to see their favorite stars such as John Cena, the Undertaker and Batista, among others.

"Orlando is the premiere vacation destination in the world," said Kurt Schneider, executive vice president of the WWE. "People go there to relax, let loose and have fun. That is why it is the perfect place for WrestleMania the pop-culture extravaganza that guarantees a memorable experience, just like the city of Orlando."

The name that showed up that surprised me most was Gregory Helms.

We should list names of people we think din't do steroids in their career (male wrestlers only, no Chyna jokes ).

I doubt Viscera or Yokozuna used any unless you count ham and yeast rolls as steroids..

Even though ECW was a bit of a letdown, another amazing show that I'm glad I went to. I'll post a few pics later after I see if there were any good ones. CM Punk was extremely over, and our section got flashed on TV for a few seconds when Styles/Tazz were talking about how Cleveland seemed to be behind Punk. Probably got the 2nd biggest pop aside from Undertaker.

Another solid Smackdown show that I'm most likely going to watch again when it airs.
man 1 whole long year till mania 24....
Really, I want Wrestlemania (in Florida) now.

-----------

For the Space Coast CAGs (I believe only 2Fast) they are having another Mayhem In Melbourne II: Legends Collide, May 12th

This time the legends are
 • Jerry "The King" Lawler
 • Tito Santana
 • Nikolai Volkoff
 • The Iron Sheik
 • One Man Gang
 • Hector Guererro Kamala
 • Virgil
 • Marty Jannetty

I will be there trying to get a "MAKE HIM HUMBLE" chant going when The Iron Sheik comes out.

- edit Just called and found out that Hector Guererro was replaced with Kamala which is just :bouncy:

Were they really pushing fucking Snitsky on ECW?

SNITSKY????

The first time I turned ECW on since the first episode, I see a Snitsky promo package, I roll my eyes, I see him kill some chump in 10 seconds, and I turned it off.

Just sad.

Not to mention he looked like Kane's retarded brother.
See you later Chris Masters.
My thoughts exactly. Why have a talent draft when you can just suspend the guys you're not using?

Has anyone else noticed how creepy Snitsky's back fur looks when they play his little promo video? When that camera zooms in on his head, all I see is fur and acne.

Yeah, I guess WWE is trying to creep us out with fur & acne .

I wish someone would have a sign at the one of their TV shows that said "Hey, Snitsky. Sycho Sid called, he wants his gimmick back".

As for the show last night, hopefully that'll be the last of Masters. Now if they can ditch that Extreme Expose crap(hell, I'd prefer a 5 minute promo from the Alpha Male than that).
