Bam Bam Bigelow's Memorial wrestling topic

If they would show matches (warm ups for the crowd, shit like Johnny Swinger vs. Lance Cade) like they used to during the countdown, I'd eat 2 cents. Not for what they show now.

Maybe instead of dedicating topics to wrestlers, we can occasionally dedicate them to events? eg. 1996 Royal Rumble Topic, with a breakdown of the matches and their quality. Might be worth thinking about.

Let's not. How about we leave this one open until 1000 since he just died. We did something similar with Eddie Guerrero. IT could be a CAG wrestling topic tradition to have memorial topics go to 1000.

Good idea... I thought the plan was to lock this one at 500 but I guess it's still early for good ol Bam Bam

Or how about 10,000 ;) ? I asked another mod to unlock the other topic thinking that this one was getting closed, but as long as no one bumps it until this one hits 1,000 we'll be just fine.

Time to make my Rumble picks:

Hardys defeat MNM one more time, possibly leading to an MNM split.

Lashley over Test. If Lashley is to retain any shred of credibility he possess he must go over Test and continue as ECW's champion. This match could end in a DQ though, as ECW has yet to develop a serious opponent for Lashley for Wrestlemania 23.

Cena over Umaga. Well Umaga looks like WWE creative gave you a near 1 year run undefeated streak, jobbing out the majority of the roster to you, just to turn around and job you out to Cena before Wrestlemania.

Batista over Kennedy. Obviously we're headed towards Taker vs Batista. Kennedy will probably lose a rematch at No Way Out to Batista as well.

Royal Rumble: Undertaker. This is pretty much the general consensus this year, right? I'd love to see him win too. Part of me hopes it is a surprise winner, but I'd be really annoyed to see someone like Edge walk away RR winner, so how about The Undertaker finally getting a Royal Rumble win?

And with that, I've joined the 10,000 post club \\:D/ . Sure there's some already in the 20,000 post club, but dammit... I need a new hobby.

I think that's a good idea. It would only work for the truly great PPV's though. WM I, WM III, one of the Starrcades, etc. Sorry, Super Clash III.

Someone's been looking at my notes for when I do the topic prior to WM23.

I disagree. Three babyface champs? Someone's going home the new world champion tonight. I think the least offensive candidate would be Mr. Kennedy, and the most likely would be Test. Cena won't lose the gold for quite some time, I feel.

Holy crap. If someone had told you a year ago that Test would walk into Wrestlemania as the ECW heavyweight champion, what would you have said?

The whole "Justin Credible" mess with WWE happened in late '05, when he did a TNA PPV show and the final Hardcore Homecoming show - he was in TNA in '03, but they didn't have a problem with him using "Justin Credible" then. I'm not sure why WWE allowed MTV to use it, unless Polaco paid WWE for the rights while he was briefly under contract to them in '06. As for the Rumble, I wouldn't mind if all the heels won the belts, although I think Kennedy has the best chance, since the Batista-Taker match at 'Mania doesn't need the title to be involved, and even if it did, they can just have him hold the belt until No Way Out. I see HBK winning the Rumble instead of Taker for the same reason, and because the show is in San Antonio.

I wouldn't have a problem with Shawn winning the rumble, but him fighting Cena poses problems (since it seems unlikely that he would want to go to Smackdown) as no one wants to see Umaga as champ and it would be hard to turn someone heel since both DX and Cena bring in so much merch money.

But do you guys really think Kennedy will be in one of the main events at Wrestlemania as a champion? There's no way he wins tonight.

Oh, I could easily see Kennedy winning the belt - he may not carry it to WrestleMania, he may just do that very thing. It will depend, I feel, on how much weight "Batista versus Undertaker" can carry by itself. It's two big guys who haven't fought each other yet, so if they can carry it without the belt, Kennedy will face off against someone else (Benoit? Booker?)

If there's one WM match that looks interesting at all, it's the rumored one with HBK. I have no idea how they're going to set it up, and it will surely be overbooked to the hilt, like McMahon versus Hogan...

I guess I'll take MNN over Hardy Boyz... Test over Lashley, Batista over Kennedy, and Umaga over Cena. Royal Rumble winner? Undertaker
EXTREME COUNTOUT

As for title matches, there are more "world heavyweight championship" matches on the show than there are non-title matches, so seeing Batista/Kennedy so early isn't much of a surprise. Though, I would expect to see UT cost Batista the belt so Batista can throw Taker out of the Rumble later on.

As do I.

Little bastard attacks Coach, then this:

Kelly Kelly: "Wow, these are the biggest balls I've ever held!"
Ron Simmons: "DAMN!"

Hahaha.

I don't like how Cena's appearing as the underdog because of the "injury".

I swear, if they make one "tough like a marine" statement..

I wish that Umaga buries him tonight but it will never happen :(
I want Umaga to destroy him and then boil the spinner belt in a pot of oil. Or have Estrada sell it for cigars.
or have him melt it down and turn it into a phat ass grill

I can't tell what's going on in that picture. Please 'splain.

So everyone retained their belts tonight? 4 matches and 4 good guys winning? Bleh.

That was weird,
Cena chokes Umaga for 2 minutes and Umaga gets up after a 2 count. Cena then chokes Umaga for an additional 20 seconds and suddenly he's out?
I can't tell what's going on in that picture. Please 'splain.
Umaga broke the top turnbuckle off and tried to samoa spike Cena with it. Cena FUed him and then put on the STFU with the rope.
