My friend and I were just talking about Kane's first words so I decided to post the video of it.
I remember that... I was kind of hoping Kane would join DX and start wearing a green/black death suit

and I'm really looking forward to WSX. Today is officially the birth of the second generation 3 promotion war :D

Quite the trend setter...

SD was a damn fine show tonight, and I don't think WSX's 10:3O PM timeslot (tonight's 11 PM airing is a special preview showing) will hurt it - plus the show will be replayed a lot on MTV, MTV 2, and will also have its own online show in WSXTra. I can see WSX being just what wrestling needs on TV - something different from the norm.

WSX is as X-TREME as Mountain Dew and Cool Ranch DORITOZ!!!!!!!!

Oh, well. It starts off on a bad note, with Black Label Society (literally) and that dickhead announcer.

At least we get to see Jack Evans.

Ok, not bad. After my post above they seemed to stop editing it so much, and considering they only have a freakin' half hour of time, they will always have to keep stuff short. If the second match is at least decent I'll be satisfied.

Fun little opening match :D

I said it in the last topic and I'll say it again. Attitude Era 2.0 has now been ushered in, WWE = WWF, WCW = TNA, WSX = ECW. I think the next few years are going to be great for fans.
Problem #1: They're editing the shit out of the matches.
Yes. The editing is blatantly obvious when they're cutting away from the in-ring action every 10 seconds and it makes it hard as hell to follow and enjoy. Maybe the 2nd match will be better in this regard.

For a second I though Credible was using his old ECW music and I was happy, and then I realized it was just generic entrance music and my nostalgia started to wear off :whistle2:( Edit: Hm, or not. Guess Hart doesn't have music.
And was that an ECW chant I heard?
Yeah....and that WAS "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" that he came out to, they just looped it so the vocals didn't come in.

Hart didn't have music because he was "too arrogant to wait" according to the announcers.
WSX = ECW.
Ehh... I dunno about that.

I ended up going to a few of the WSX tapings, and I've gotta say...it's definitely worth watching. For an upstart "promotion", it's a fun little exhibition that makes wrestling fun to watch - something wrestling's needed for a while. They've only got a half hour, but they fill it well. It's like wrestling for kids with ADD.

LOL...MTV has the heat machine on full blast for this show. The hilariously out-of-place boos for Waltman and Sydal were hilarious.

New Jack has generic rock music. Boooo.

Aside from the HORRIBLE special effects, the announcers, the editing, and having to see Zakk Wylde on my screen for more then 2 seconds, it wasn't so bad.

I'll watch it again next week, which is more than I can say for WWE or TNA. Whether I stick with it for more than 2 or 3 weeks will depend on what happens. I've heard the first episode is definitely the worst, I guess we'll find out.

There's some good wrestling buried in WSX, but I'm not sure that it's worth digging through all of the crap to get to it.

Although, if there was ever a federation to do a "Woodchipper death match", WSX would be it.

Also, a bit of a downer - Credible and New Jack are only on the pilot.

On the plus side, WSX also has Colt Cabana, M-Dogg 20, and Human Tornado on the roster.

and Ruckus :D

I expected an insane half-hour of wrestling-related entertainment, and got it. There was about as much in-ring action as Impact, but with far more moves that you'd never seen anywhere else, and a whole bunch of crazy stunts that shouldn't be seen anywhere. In one night, they managed to kill off the importance of ladders, tacks, tables, and electrocution. On the upside, they mentioned Dragon Gate, JAPW, XPW, WCW, ECW, WWE, and "death match legend SUPREME" in one night, which I never thought I'd see. I'm looking forward to WSXTra with MATT CLASSIC!

You could definitely tell those fan reactions were overlayed in post-production, but people do genuinely boo for Waltman, ala X-Pac Heat.

I'd boo his ass.

WSX has the talent, it's also good to see they brought over some guys from Dragon Gate. Horiguchi and Yoshino are both excellent workers, it would of been nice if they got CIMA or Dragon Kid.
Is Teddy Hart supposed to be invincible? Did he just no sell a few moves or is that just the tape editing?
Say hello to every Teddy Hart match *ever*. He makes X-division flippy matches look like they oversell the shit out of everything.

I can't believe you people. WSX was the single dumbest goddamned thing I've ever seen. The in-ring announcer was a fucking douchebag, the commentary guys were fucking 1/10th of Don West, the gimmicks were fucking stupid (after seeing the explosions around Youth Suicide, I expected nothing less than buckets of blood and a smoking fedora where he lay), and the matches were nothing but *spotspotspotspotspot*.

If you all like that, fine. IMO, it was like watching a highlight video without the wrestling match, which is not why I watched this show. Oh, look, Matt Sydal's flipping! Oh, look, Jack Evans is flipping! Oh, but wait! Matt Sydal's flipping! But then again, Jack Evans is flipping!

That's not wrestling, it's the precursor to a fucking adderall prescription. The pacing was too fast, the editing and forced postproduction too evident, and the wrestling the worst thing I've seen this side of XPW. I wouldn't even call that wrestling. I suppose if you own any "Backyard Wrestling" videos, you may like this, but as far as *pro wrestling* is concerned, it's the drizzling shits.

I still like many of the talents in the show, but I can't watch this shit. I'll watch them have a match in ROH any day of the week instead of thirty seconds of backflips before one of them gets run over by a stray taxi covered in barbed wire while My Chemical Romance is doing the goddamned commentary.

What a raging piece of garbage. ECW is better than that crap, even. (ooooooh!)

I'd rather watch Eric Young buy extra small condoms with Jeremy Borash than WSX.....

Wait. That just happened on Impact this week. Nevermind. :puke:

according to the press he died of diabetes but id like to know whats up with all these wrestlers duying from unknown causes..

anyway.. R.I.P Beast From The East.

How many have died from "unknown causes"? Most are due to heart attacks that occur either in the early '40s or late '30s, and can be blamed on hard living thanks to the wrestling lifestyle. Hopefully that trend changes as the wrestlers of today opt to play video games instead of party all night.

I remember this guy from some WWF trading cards (might have been ECW, whatever). That fight that was posted was pretty good actually, it was fast paced but still had all the attidude that you could want. Sad to see him go.
At least it's better then TNA :crossarms:
... No.

WSX is like if Big Lots produced a wrestling program.

I'll check it out next week, as this was the pilot... but I can't see it getting any better -- especially with the 30 minute timeslot and MTV/ADHD editing.

Like I said earlier: The "X-TREME!!!!!!!" is about as extreme as Mountain Dew and Dorritoz (with a 'z'). That was confirmed when I heard the announcer metal-ing it up on the microphone.

Makes me wish Vampiro would go back to TNA, though; he's a great wrestler.

I think that a lot of people who watch wrestling fit into this demographic. From the outside, the "extremeness" of Mountain Dew and Taco Bell, or whatever it is, seems absurd. About as absurd as a five-year old girl thinking that she'll be a pretty pretty princess.

Somehow, though, the marketing works. Go to an ROH show.

a-drenaline rush, a-drenaline rush!

Original ECW nailed the whole "extreme" thing, simply because it was effortless.
Its such a catchy song that gets stuck in your head all day.
That's one, of many, reasons it's horrible. ;)

I had no idea there was such a thing as an extreme "bag-o-chips".

Right up there with Ace Of Base.

I'd rather that be used for the closing wrap-up on iMPACT!
