▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Gonna definitely get Destiny 2, just don't know if I should get the digital version. 60 versus 52 after gcu and taxes.

I'm in the same boat. Did you see a mod on BBs forums said they are giving $10 certs with digital preorders? That makes me a little more likely to go digital. I'm hoping there's another visa checkout promo so I can maximize the savings if I go physical.

There hasn't been a visa checkout in a while. Hoping that there will be one for memorial day.

Are any of you guys going to try digital and see if BB doesn't mess up with the $10 certs?
I'll be going digital with SWBF2. I'm going to gameshare with my boys so the $10 cert is icing on the cake. Too bad gcu doesn't apply but I shouldn't complain since it's better than buying 2 copies at launch.

I spent $24 on the first Battlefront and we got our money's worth out of that one.

Yeah I was getting a little spoiled thinking Visa Checkout deals would come along once a month or so. Now I only got two open orders left from the last one, and a whole bunch of preorders I want to make with a new one. Hopefully soon.

NBA 2K18 is going to be added according to next weeks digital ad. :)
Sweet! So I think it's safe to assume all sports titles from previous years will be included, too. Hopefully the Madden and FIFA trade-in promos are here this year as well to make this deal even sweeter.

Kind of off topic, but did BB remove the "Save for later" functionality from the cart? I was using that for as wishlist and now it's just gone.

EDIT: Aaaaand it just reappeared. Weird.

I've been having this problem as well. Sometimes I would have to reload the page to see the saved items.

I reloaded a few times and even tried logging in again. Eventually I left it alone for 10 minutes and refreshed and it was back to normal. Even the items I had in my card were missing the "Save for later" button.

Yea, kinda annoying. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Lol destiny 2 pvp is 30 fps on ps4 pro even though crucible is only 4vs4. No dedicated servers either. Definitely passing on this. Bungo

I haven't been keeping up with the posts but has anyone who bitched about GCU getting worse and worse and the $10 pre-order bonus going away is a sign GCU is ending shown up here to eat their words and/or act like they never said anything?

How long does it take to receive the $10 rewards certificate?

Shadow of War, Destiny, and WW2 all come a month after each other, id love to be able to apply the $10 cert. to the following preorder I'd make.

Around 14 days after you pick game up, sometimes sooner

Hmmm to pre-order Tekken 7 and get the steelbook or wait for the inevitable price drop (and maybe even still get the steelbook included with that i.e. Mass Effect)?

Anyone able to find a separate listing for the tekken steelbook which would allow me to buy it but not the game?

Already bought digitally on psn

Next year is Treyarch's turn, so if we got a remastered game it would be World at War or BLOPS 1.

I doubt we get another remastered game this year though.
With the Treyarch zombies compilation they just released for BO3, I doubt we'll get anything else in terms of remasters from Treyarch for a long time.

Idk if I should go with the regular version or gold version of Far Cry 5. Have to wait on what the DLC will be first.
With the Visa Checkout offers available, I opted to get the Gold Editions of games like Ghost Recon and Injustice 2 because they came out to about $60 before taxes. I feel like it's worth it at that point because you're saving on everything. With the extra $10 in rewards, it definitely makes it seem worth it considering you're saving 40-50% in the process. So I'd definitely wait for one of those offers to come back.

Completely forgot about Visa Checkout, it will probably be the best time to take advantage of these deals.

Yeah, right now, the only game I have left from the last time they offered it is Crash Bandicoot. The next round of games that I'm interested in release in August, so I'm hoping they do one before then.

I don't see 2K18 listed on the pre-order bonus page anymore. Think it was pulled?

Link
I don't think it was ever on the pre-order bonus page. 2k18 was advertised in a past Best Buy weekly ad as part of the promo. Also, a mod at the Best Buy forum confirmed it, despite not being on the list, stating the page will be updated in the future.

Shadow of War got delayed until October 10th
Thanks for the update.

Cool, thanks! I'm looking forward to getting it on the Switch.

No problem. Never thought of getting it for the Switch, maybe I'll do the same.

Got an email that if u even my Best Buy card in store get 11% back with coupon in June. Can I use the card in store and preorder and pay in full all these games to get the 11% offer plus the rewards certificate?

I've never gotten a game with the $10 reward certificate before so question - with South Park, is it good on the Deluxe Edition and also if I've had it pre-ordered, like since last year, will they honor the certificate without me having to cancel and re-pre-order?
