▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

How long does Best Buy give you to pick up pre-orders?  I'll be on my honeymoon when Odyssey releases.  Normally I'd be ecstatic for a sooner than expected release date, but not this time lol

EDIT: NVM.  Found the "within 7 days" in the FAQ.

I don't think anyone know what you know, but we all know that bby probably does not know it knowing added it to the known list of $10 Cert.  If anyone else know, please let user above know.

Mario Kart 8 for Wii U had a similar deal to this, I believe it was a physical 10 dollar gift card though.
Wasn't it a gas card?

They shortened it to 5 days recently.

Don't buy preorder A. Creed! It will be $39 or less during Black Friday like every release year before. Same for EA games like Need for Speed.

Only Mario's price will not change at Black Friday.
How about Middle Earth: SoW? Think that'll hit $40 on Black Friday? I'll want to start playing it some time before Christmas, but don't mind waiting a bit to save.

I could be wrong but I think it just ended up being a generic Visa type card. I'm pretty sure I ended up buying E-shop credit with mine.

Damn, this is going to be good! Got SP: TFBW and Mario preordered during one of those VC promos earlier this year so I am already only paying $36 plus tax for each of those. With these reward bonus points I will be getting them for about $26 each net.

not bad. $26 for a day 1 nintendo game that will continue selling at $60 for the next 5 years.

It doesn't have the "reward eligible" logo like the other games do. It also strikes me odd that a Nintendo game would have an offer like this, I don't think it's happened before. A site error perhaps?
Looks like the site now has the "$10 Reward" graphic next to the game, so it should be officially a go. Hopefully other Nintendo games will follow suit (though it is likely too late to hope for Splatoon 2).

Contact Bestbuy, they will send you a new game.
Actually, I had something similar happen (tracking said it was delivered but it was nowhere to be found) and BB said to wait 10 more business days to see if it showed up eventually. It actually then came in the next day's mail so the post office just preemptively marked it delivered.

Uhhh, apparently my order of Prey was returned? Even though I never even got it. Tracking doesn't even show that it shipped, just pre-shipment. What the fuck is going on?

They didn't make me wait but I guess it all depends on what rep you get and what mood they are in.

I ended up calling UPS and got it sorted out. The driver left it at a house down the road and went and got the package for me.

Is there a limited time on when this offer is available? I have GCU and I want to get on this, but I'm a little broke atm after an order with amazon.

Just make sure you order it before it's released. If you do that, you'll be able to get the $10 certificate. It will usually appear within 14 days, sometimes people get the points sooner than later.

Thanks - waiting to pre-order because we just signed up for GCU and waiting for the benefits to kick in. Didn't get a welcome email yet!

How can you get in on the madden trade in/upgrade promo they've done the past couple of years, when your charged the total amount if you preorder online? Basically you can only get in on that if you only poreorder instore and put down $5.

I've already had Mario preordered from a while back, will I automatically get the $10 extra?

yes, but there were still a lot of questions about if that info was accurate due to not many first party games being included before.
Oh, ok.:)

I already preordered Odyssey in the last VCO shopping spree, this is pretty sweet.
Good deal! I pre-ordered 6 games with VCO and none of them comes with $10 bonus certs.:( I should have been smart and pre-ordered Ubisoft games (or EA/Activision/2k).
