▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Echoing everyone else, hope the visa checkout promo comes back!

Im suprised Red Dead redemption isnt part of this promo

Hopefully fifa 18 will have a trade-in promo with fifa 17
If they do, I should preorder when the promo is live, not now, right?

As others have probably mentioned, they will likely add more games to this deal when E3 starts, and this may be one of them.

I've never gotten a game with the $10 reward certificate before so question - with South Park, is it good on the Deluxe Edition and also if I've had it pre-ordered, like since last year, will they honor the certificate without me having to cancel and re-pre-order?
As Flash15 said, yes to both. The reasoning is:

The $10 gift applies as long as you preorder a game (standard, or deluxe/collector) on the list and then that preorder becomes an actual purchase. Doesn't matter when the preorder is initiated.

BBY is killing it with this promo. So many damn good games with $10 back. I'm already looking at getting 90% of the games on this list exception of madden/fifa.

Yeah boi!!!!

I love Assassin's Creed, but I feel like their games are guaranteed to be half-off on Black Friday, so I've learned to wait a few weeks. But if Visa Checkout returns, I'm definitely picking up the Gold Edition on day one. Get it for $60 plus an additional $10 in credit is well worth it.

I know I'm probably really late to the party, but Best Buy did fix where canceling your Destiny 2 pre-order still charged you $20 for the beta code, right? Was thinking of moving to a digital copy of Destiny 2 and pre-ordering Shadow of War instead.

damn, this must be the 1st ninty game to make the $10 list.

can't wait, especially with VCO on that Mario Odyssey pre-ordered.

Super Mario Odyssey has been added to the main list.
Whoa, a Nintendo game. Thanks for the heads up.

They claim it was fixed, but users in the BB forums are reporting it isn't. However, if you post there, one of the mods can help refund you if it happens.

Don't buy preorder A. Creed! It will be $39 or less during Black Friday like every release year before. Same for EA games like Need for Speed.

Only Mario's price will not change at Black Friday.

I'm no madden fanboy, but the last few years madden has been an absolute steal with the trade in deals bestbuy keeps doing for it on release. I'll buy it every year until they stop.

Yes! I usually tend to hold off on games like Assassin's Creed, Need for Speed, any 2K sports/WWE game, and any Square Enix game. Those usually hit $30 on BF.

But I'm considering getting the Gold Edition of AC Origins, only if they have another Visa Checkout promo. That gives 40% off the game and season pass, and with the extra $10 in rewards, that nearly 50% off.

I don't know where to ask this so I'll ask here. If I return a game I used a certificate on would I get the certificate back or do I lose it? I bought Horizon but haven't opened it and want to exchange it for Persona 5 instead.

Total validation for all those Visa Checkout pre-orders I did. I already have South Park and Mario Odyssey that are on the list, hopefully more to come! :D/

Points will be refunded to your account balance. Within how many days, I think 15 or sooner - not sure of the exact amount of days

It doesn't have the "reward eligible" logo like the other games do. It also strikes me odd that a Nintendo game would have an offer like this, I don't think it's happened before. A site error perhaps?

I wouldn't doubt it if this was an error. The $10 cert back is a collaboration between publisher and BBY where the publisher normally eats the cost of the subsidy. It is difficult to believe Ninty would agree to have their flagship and most popular title in the promo.

IIRC, this had occurred in the past with GOW remake on xbone. The title was removed form the promo page weeks later but those that pre-ordered during that period had their $10 Cert honored.

Thank you. I can confirm it is not fixed. I called in and they were able to refund the $20. At no point during the cancellation process did it indicate it would charge me for the code. I can't believe they set this in place all over 3 days early access to a beta.

Yeah I remember at the beginning of the year people complaining about BB doesn't putting any game with $10 in certificates, now the list is like ten titles and maybe the would add more.
