Bestbuy.com / Dealtree EZtrade-in programs (trade games for BB gift cards or PayPal)

So I happened to find a list of their games that they are giving some good money on, I guess to compete with Gamestop. Here is a copy of the list. I dont know if you have to trade in more than 1 game to get the deal, but thought others would be able to chime in with their experience. Of note is the hot shots golf trade in for PS3 (if you were able to get it from the sears clearance).

Added by Io: Note that you can also trade games in using this site:
http://ebay.eztradein.com/ebay/
which is handled by the same processor (Dealtree) used for the Best Buy program. In this case, though, you can get PayPal payments instead of Best Buy gift cards. The trade-in values and processing methods seem to be exactly the same.

-----
I tried looking for the $20 and $30 trade in value games but came up empty, if you want to provide the link so I can add it here, let me know via PM.

UPDATED: since it keeps getting asked

1. Can I take them to a physical store?
Games need to be mailed in. If you try to do an instore trade from the website it will redirect you to mailing it in.

2. How many days do I have to mail it in?
30 days from initiating the trade. Mail it in ASAP as the processing time until you get your money differs and could be a wait.

3. Are trade in quotes locked in or do they get valued at time of processing?
Get your games in fast enough and you will not have to worry about this. But the majority believe that you are locked in as long as it gets there before the 30 days are up.

4. Do games have to be complete?
Case, Manual, and working game are your only options. So yes, full credit if you have everything. But we are not too sure on how they determine scratches affecting playability (if they physically test the game during processing). Just clean all smudges and fingerprints prior to mailing, and if you have deep scratches it is up to you to chance them saying the game does not work.

5. What happens if they say the game is worth less than trade in quote?
You can either accept their valuation or PAY to have your game shipped back to you.
2 games shipped 5/24; delivered 5/27; verified 5/29; paid 6/1
2 games shipped 5/24; delivered 5/27; verified 5/29; paid 6/1
2 games shipped 5/25; delivered 5/28; not yet verified
4 games shipped 5/25; delivered 6/2; verified 6/4; paid 6/8
2 games shipped 5/28; delivered 6/2; verified 6/4; paid 6/8

Does anyone have anything that was delivered from 5/28-6/1 that was verified? I guess I'm glad that 4-game trade went relatively slowly via Parcel Post or it might have gotten there during the "dead zone".
Both of my currently languishing in the payment stage packages were sent May 28th(estimate date May 26th), received June 2nd and VERIFIED June 6th.

Hopefully now that EZTradein sees that I added a Paypal address to my profile, they'll pay me that way today/tomorrow, so I can finally relax since I got kinda worried after they removed the video games trade in page AND instituted that limit.

OK, but we aren't taking about waiting for payment. You will get paid, eventually. We are talking about the critically more important stage of having them even acknowledge that they received them! You see how you sent yours after all the ones we are talking about and ours have not even been verified, let alone moved along towards actual payment.

The thing thats got me a bit freaked out right now is that i sent 3 packages all at the same time (parcel post of course). Two have updated that theyve reached some local depot and are travelling. The third still shows 'we were electronically notified but that doesnt mean we have it yet'. Its been only 1.5 days since the dropoff, but why on earth would 2/3 boxes be tracking when they were all the exact same time? Am i hosed?

But you did ask if any of us had anything that was verified and mine was.;)

I guess I got lucky.

I've had a few like that. One of the ones I sent first that is still out was only showing electronically notified and all of a sudden it was at the facility yesterday. Doesn't mean I don't worry about some. I have a box of 10 out that I shipped the day of the policy change that includes more than 3 of a title, so I get worried I'm gonna get screwed on that one.

Best to just wait though, like I said, one I sent out like 5/28 or so just arrived there with no prior markings.

No, yours got delivered after the "dead zone" of lost submissions, which is why I got on your case ;). I had stuff delivered on June 2nd and it was verified as well. It is May 28th through June 1st that is the problem, apparently.

Into your paypal account (if you used eztradein). OR you get a BB gift card around 7 days after verification. OR you get a check in the mail.

Pretty much depends on what form of payment you chose when you got your quotes.

How long do you wait after it's been delivered and not verified to contact them about it? There site has no time frames.

It looks like some people (io and a few others) have been waiting for verification since May 28th-June 1st. My first shipment was verified 5 days after it was delivered, and it looks like some people's even took up to a week or as little as 2-3 days so it's different for everybody. I'd probably contact them after a week has passed, but that's just me.

Yeah, it has never taken more than a week except for that one set. 3-5 days is more typical. In a day or two, those problem submissions will all hit 2 weeks, which is far too long. I contacted them about it when it had been a week and they said they would look into it and if I didn't hear back in 3 business days to remind them again. I just did the reminder Weds evening...

All three of my SMBs have been verified. The first two say they have a verified price of $25, but the last one says $0.00. I hope that's some glitch or something. All three were quoted for $25, so I hope this doesn't get ugly.

Call immediately. It is not a "glitch" and you only have 7 days to notify them for a correction. I got lucky (way past 7 days) last month when the same thing happened to 2 of my games ...

I have been waiting on a package to get verified that was delivered on May 28th and have had packages after June 1st delivery get verified and paid. I just contacted customer service. Frankly this site is way too slow and doesn't inspire very much confidence. I probably would not have continued and am glad they had made that decision for me.

They are still waiting to receive some of my packages even though the DC# shows them as being delivered 3 days ago. Kind of annoying. In other related news; the package I sent to Gazelle the same day has been received, verified and I should be getting paid tomorrow/saturday for it.

My 2nd package of 3 SMB got verified this morning for $25 each. Didn't get a verification email this morning, just happened to check the website and it was all verified.

Maybe they stopped sending e-mails for verification purposes. I didn't receive any e-mails but I decided to check the site and found out that I had 16 games verified this morning for the full amount which was kind of surprising considering a few of them had generic cases and cover art.

I can second this. I just checked the website and three of my SMB have been verified, but I never got an email about it.

Same here as well. All 15 of my games were verified for the full amount of $25......

Received on Monday and verified today. :applause:

Edit: Nevermind...I guess that was already on here. Only checked the last 3 pages.

Looks like they've finally caught on. I was on the page this morning and found this quote:

Limit: We will not accept more than 3 games of the same title and platform from a customer (or address) in a year. Please do not submit more than the limit as excess submissions WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

I called in to check to make sure my previous orders will be grandfathered in to the old standard and Hayley, the customer service rep I spoke to said yes. But from now on, it'll only be 3.

Well, crap, I got nothing today - had a bunch received Monday as well.
Just got payment today, almost two weeks later.
For your Dante's Inferno? If so, :bomb:....
Just got bullshit heavy order volume for my May 28th delivery date.
Same here...

Thank you for contacting us. Due to our recent promotions for video game trade-in, our processing facility is receiving a significantly higher volume of games. This is causing a slight delay, which we sincerely apologize for.

Thank you,

Haley

So, this doesn't explain anything, since I've had stuff arrive afterward and already be verified...

Hmmm... Well, I got no emails, but I did just check my account and it seems I have some stuff verified. But more troubles ahead - one of my mint PS3 games is verified at $0 value and marked as "Not Playable" :bomb:. First time I've ever seen or even heard of that happening!

Edit - Nevermind, it turned out that was one I didn't send in because I needed to shift stuff around. That's a relief. I figured they would show those as "Waiting to receive" and not as verified at $0 and "Not Playable". I guess it not existing means it is "Not Playable".

OK, just went through my account. About 1/3 of the stuff I sent in last week has been verified. The interesting thing is that none of the stuff I sent earlier in the week got verified but about half of the stuff I sent right when the changes got announced were verified - go figure... So what that means is the stuff that they tried to deliver on Saturday but instead was delivered Monday has not been verified and half of the stuff that actually arrived on Monday did get verified.

Just a little heads up for others with the delayed Saturday deliveries - they may not have gotten to yours yet either. And still no verification emails which is odd as I've always gotten them before.

I just checked the order thing and it says that it was unplayable and wasn't complete. That's total BS since I sent the game brand new from Best Buy.

Do I just email their help desk, or is there an actual number for me to call?
Got all 50 monkeyballs accepted today. I'm going to the sizzler!
FIFTY Monkey Balls? I hope you're kidding.

If not though, good job, especially if the $500 to buy all of them was from gift cards from prior trades.:applause:

My 2 shipments were verified yesterday and I received emails on all of them. Sent in 1 TSM with no manual but still got full credit.

Uh...I'm not sure what happens after the items get verified. They put the money on my Paypal account? I've never used paypal, and I created the account after I submitted the trades to Dealtree. How long does it usually take?

5 - 15 days. You'll be waiting a while. Just be happy that you actually got them verified. It seems like a lot of us are waiting for that.

It sickens me that you spent roughly twice the amount that I'm going to receive from my trade!

Nice! I'd rather not say how many I traded in, but I bought a 46 Sharp Aquos 1080P last night with some of the money and I am going to pick up a $549 Pioneer receiver with the rest of my gift cards when they come in. :booty::lol:

 Unfortunately, the local two BB stores only had SIX total or I would've gladly grabbed all dem shitz and locked them in at the $25 value and sent as many as I could've found.;)

EDIT: For those who might wanna argue on a typo on the current BB RZ GC coupons, they have the 360 version of Skate 3(currently $59.99-$10 off coupon=$49.99)listed as Skate 2, which is only $19.99 currently for the 360. But the SKU on the coupon is for Skate 3 and not Skate 2.

Can someone post a link of the trade-in list without any affiliations to it?

I keep getting this error with the the link on the op,

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.apmebf.com."

Dude, get your math right. If you want to be a masterbat....um, master flipper, you must get your math right. $11 (cost + tax) times 50 is $550. That will then turn into $30 BBRZ gift certificates and $1250 from this ebay site.

Hey man, buffets are for when I can only flip 30 copies. They still have a place in our society.

Lamesville. You get cash so you can double up on them through their reward zone program. You have much to learn padawan.

Nice job you guys. Unfortunately, I only got a whopping 3. Northern NJ... One of the most populated areas around and Best Buys are all like 10 miles apart. One BBY had 1 SMB, the 2nd had 2, and the third had none... I would have gone a bit farther (almost 15 miles to the next BBY), but I didn't have that kind of time :(.

On the other hand, I did score a ton of games from BBV to flip to Dealtree. Employee discount + B1G1 50% off rocks! :)

How many stores did you hit up Estebon? The most copies I saw of SMB at 1 store were 5. One store had 3 copies, and 1 store had 2 copies. Maybe there were more in the back. I would've picked up more than I did if they would let you buy more than 1 per transaction.
About 12.
If you are serious about trading 50 and not being a smartass, then I'm pretty peeved at them for half-assed verifying the stuff I sent in since it was so much more diverse than that. Like I said this morning, they verified about 1/3 of what I sent in last week and was delivered Monday (and of course I'm still waiting on the ones delivered on 5/28 also).

Maybe mine got there quicker. Who knows. I still haven't gotten payment but I assume it will get here by the end of this month.

Got an email from them earlier tonight, and I got another three emails to verify that my games are all worth $25.

Sweet stuff. Thanks again to everyone for the heads up on the deal.
