Thought this was worthy of a new thread. Its back! And with a vengeance. As of this writing its at [see title]. Link

And for those that dont know, the amount of uses for this promotion seems to be doubling at a steady rate, now at 40 uses per account, and the maximum amount you can get back PER A SINGLE TRANSACTION was reduced from $250 to $200. The total culmulative cashback allowance is capped at $2,500.00 per calendar year.

How this works:

If you dont already know about this, its a very simple promotion offered by Microsoft in order to promote usage of their search engine live.com. All you have to do is go to www.live.com and search for something common, like "Wii" as in nintendo wii. In the Sponsored sites at the top you will see a link to Wii's on ebay with a small logo next to it that says Live Search Cash Back and below that "You may get xx% off paypal eligible". When you click on the cash back logo it takes you to ebay and BIN (Buy It Now) auctions for Wiis. From there you simply use the ebay search function to find the BIN auction for the item you desire and purchase it. When you click the BIN button prior to clicking on Commit to buy you should see a message below with the Cash Back you are eligible to recieve. Once you buy the auction pay for it with paypal and give it an hour. Eventually you'll get a message in your ebay account saying "You've earned cashback" simply click on it and follow the instructions. If you dont have one you'll be asked to create a live account. I believe most people will already have an existing live acct due to their Xbox, MSN, or Hotmail associations so feel free to use that if you like. This is quick, and thus far i havent gotten any spam due to it, nor have i read of anyone getting any spam. And thats it, 60 + 15 days later [they allow a buffer period incase you return what you bought] you can redeem the money.

So to summarize

1. use live.com search engine to find any product on ebay. Any keyword is as good as another, hence i used "wii" as an example.

2. Once activating the link use ebay.com to browse for the Buy It Now auction you desire and purchase and pay with paypal. Wait until you get a message from ebay and get your cash back with your live account. This can take a few hours.

3. ~75 days later its in your pocket. [60 days before you can redeem and then an additional 2 weeks before it actually transfers into your paypal account]

Again this is just a promotion by MS to promote use of their search engine, theres no catch. You dont have to promise your first born nor random legs or limbs. Its as simple as it sounds.

Some things to note

-This promotion is limited to only US residents.

-You must pay with paypal and it must be a BIN auction.

-It takes about 75 days to recieve the actual money which will be in the form of a FEE FREE deposit into your paypal account. From there you can spend it or transfer it into your checking or simply request a check.

-If you return the item you purchased and used the promotion on you LOSE the refund.

-This is only valid for Ebay user/store auctions on Ebay.com. No live auction or ebay motors etc.. Though i think you can get away with buying international auctions you're watching on ebay.com. I also noticed that this works if you're offered a "Second chance" on an item you bid on since it turns the auction into a BIN.

-You may only use this a maximum of 40 times per ebay account per person. A few people are reporting success using different ebay accounts with the same cashback account in order to achieve more than 20 uses. YMMV.

-Maximum of $200 back PER AUCTION [$2,500 Cap per account] and the percent savings does vary and can change without notice.

Rest of the terms are here:
http://pages.ebay.com/cashbackoffer/terms.html

I recommend at least skimming them. Enjoy.

Couple additions

"Instant" Cashback is now available. However, to quote "Instant cashback will be eligible for some, but not all users." Its unknown what the criteria is to be "eligible". I would not suggest you make a purchase unless you dont mind waiting.

Ebay/Paypal Coupons WILL stack with this. The amount is deducted off the full auction value. IE 10% Coupon applied to $100 purchase will save you $10. If the Cashback percent is 25% you will still get $25 additional back for a total savings of $35. Usually the Ebay/Paypal coupons have a maximum savings of $100 for a maximum total of $300 saved on any single purchase. This also stacks with other promotions run by Bigcrumb/ebates where you can earn some more money back based on an items selling fees.
LOL thanks. The main reason I think this site is worthwhile (as opposed to the hordes of other ebates type sites) is that you can use it on ebay, which is usually already the best deal you'll find on a game if you get a good BIN. As you can see, it REALLY adds up if you buy all your games/pc hardware online:

http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bczc4.jpg
i was hesitant to join one of those chain things.. how does it work.. i think it gave me two options when i was looking to sign up

JCDenton, I joined through your link too so I guess you're getting a bunch of referrals. Should I have chosen Crumbs Earner? I don't think I get any money from your purchases or those you refer, but only the ones I refer...is that correct? I've used similar programs but I'm new to Big Crumbs (first I've heard of it). Seems interesting. Let me know. Thanks!
i've been searching live and can't get that option for ebay.....

got the option for a 360 using buy it now, but i forgot i just ordered one from dell!
It doesn't matter what you search for on live.com. Search for anything and if you get the 30% off thing click it. Then search for whatever you want on ebay. It will still apply - it doesn't has to be related to what you searched for on live.com. So, a reliable way to get the 30% off on ebay is to search for "cheap Wii" or something like that.

Just an fyi. My searches are turning up 5% and 8% more and more. Last time when this started happening the high percentages stopped soon after. So those on the fence may want to strike while the 30% is still good

I'm not sure if any of you are interested, but I'm going to offer it to you anyhow. I am currently selling the following to try and recoup some of my investments in my small business selling games:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120313105477&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

If you buy it now at $600 you will get them all for $400 after cash back. That's a good deal since if you consider:

Wii Console - $250
Wii Fit - $90
Mario Kart Wii / Wheel - $50
Extra Wii Wheel - $10
Classic Controller - $20
Shipping with UPS Ground - $50
Tax (CT rate = 6%) - $28.20
--------------------------------
$498.20 value Total

Even better if you combine it with the Big Crumbs or similar program :)

I have a feeling that Wii systems will still be hard to find around Christmas and Wii Fits are already almost impossible to find in stores. I don't expect any of you will buy it, but if you're in the market for these items now here's your chance to get them at a good price. If you buy it with BIN I can throw in a few extras for you too as a CAG.

Crumbsaver is way better since the cashback is a lot higher. The ONLY reason you would want to sign up as a crumbearner is if you referred a lot of people, because then you could get cashback for THEIR referrals as well. If you go and refer a bunch of ppl later and they start referring ppl, that's when you'd want to think about switching.

Most of your cashback will come from your own purchases....as you can see from that pic I posted more than 90% of mine is from stuff I bought myself. You wouldn't get anything from what I buy. Main thing to remember is to click straight through from bigcrumbs to ebay or whatever other site to make your purchase, with nothing in between. I'd happily refer people to this site even if I didn't get a tiny boost because hey, if you've already found a deal you like, why not save a few dollars more on the exact same deal?

thank ya fellas, finally broke down and got a mgs ps3 for about 332.50

keep up the damn fine work

Just do the live search to get the icon showing up, then go to bigcrumbs, click through to ebay, and make your purchase. You'll still get the live cashback, but you'll get bigcrumbs credit as well, which is 1/3 of the seller fee. With ebay fees always going up, this adds up quickly if you buy a lot and remember to do it...I've made $125 this year. They pay you in paypal and are very reliable.

Purchases so far after discounts:

Pure for 360 - $28
Bladerunner Blu ray - $17
Infinite Undiscovery - $28
DS Lite with Civilization, New Super Mario Bros, Lock's quest - $85
I have signed up, what do I do to get money from ebay. I can't figure out what to do.

Ah, finally broke down and did it...

I bought a set of stormtrooper armor. Fully assembled, with all accessories and details. I've had a suitcase full of coins saved up ready to make the purchase. This just made it too sweet to pass up.

Maybe I'm retarded but I just did this through a BIN on ebay and set up my Live account for the first time. Nothing is showing yet, not even as pending, in my cashback account. Is this normal?

yes. takes 24-48 hours before it shows up. you'll also get an email.

I have a NEW Gun Metal PS MGS 4 bundle, I'm about to put on. Anyone have any ideas on what a fair BIN price would be? I saw someone put up one for $900, which is ridiculous, and someone put one up for $650.
Just seeing what seller is popular with the CAGs so I can bitch if something goes wrong, I got mine from here:

Umm..Just an fyi. I ordered two of these from the seller and had to email him to correct my shipping address and this was cut and pasted from the email I got "There is a chance that our orders will not be fulfilled and we will have to refund your money. These will be incredibly difficult to come by this holiday season." So for those of you that ordered from this vendor you might want to have a backup

I'm thinking about getting a PS3 for LBP and Blu Ray. Can someone give me an idea on what a really good price would be? I really have no idea.

shit! am i screwed?
I bought wii points from ebay, but i forgot to change my email address to my new one(my old one is closed) when i made my purchase. I don't have a order confirmation from ebay. All i have is a Paypal confimation. The cashback still hasn't been shown in my cashback account. What do i do?
Any suggestions for a good digital camera? GF is looking for one that's at least 5X zoon and 8 MP.
Just look for a Canon, and IMO 8 mp is overkill, but that's up to you.

Try your live ID and see if it works, usually your ebay, live ID, and paypal ID need to be linked.

how do i link them? I forgot to change my email address in ebay before i clicked the get cashback button from them. I sent them an email with the order confimation I retrieved from my account, so hopefully they are able to fix the problem. Im so stupid!

i think they were $600 on the konami website store

Anyone have any suggestions for "smart" purchases? So far I bought a brand new gaming laptop and a brand new 4th gen iPod nano where both were priced under retail (before the 30% off). Since I don't have to pay tax, it is nearly a 40% discount so I'm trying to think of items that are damn near impossible to get for 40% off.

Yeah I got it for $600, can't remember shipping. I left it in the box Konami shipped, just checked to see if it was in there. Might be a good time to sell now.

Hey, I go thru the 30% on Live.com but I don't see the little 30% on top while I browse; I only see it when I check my Alerts/Mail. Is it working?

I want a laptop but know little about what a good price on one should be, and people on eBay tend to jack the price up a ridiculous amount of buy it now, so its almost not even worth me going through that route.

Arg... I can't think of what to get to make this worth it.

I don't need anything right now, but I feel like I'm wasting a good oppurtunity.

The only thing I keep thinking about is a PS3, but I'm not sure of what games that are awesome aside from MGS and Little Big Planet. Also not sure what version to go with. Get the 60gb for backwards capability, or just get a newer one.

Can't think of anything else to take advantage of the 30% off.

If you can find gift cards, or checks, an easy way to make money. I saw a lot of people saying it would work, but it has for me, and its not even in the exclusions list. I also bought some football cards. Other things, maybe some rewards points for something. Tickets for a game too. And can never go wrong with porn ;)

I got a gift card, $300 one from Amazon, will get it to eventually be $245. Then I am going to buy a Samsung TD220HD from Amazon, w/ $30 MIR, and essentially pay ~$260 for the TV. I'm very happy

I'm pretty sure I got ripped off. I accidentally bought an OPEN BOX PS3. It was 4am and I was tired and stressed and jumped at this without reading properly. Well, I read it as well as the feedback but didnt pay enough attention. JFJGKDFJGD

Hey, for anyone who signed up with bigcrumbs, I just want to make absolutely clear the procedure to get cashback through both sites.

1. Go to live.com, type in "cheap wii"
2. Click the save XX% on ebay link near the top of the page to go to ebay and get the live banner icon
3. in the same browser window, type the bigcrumbs url, log into your account, and use their link to go to ebay
4. buy your item, preferably without a lot of browsing around. MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU ARE DOING BUY IT NOW, THE LIVE SEARCH CASHBACK IS VISIBLE BEFORE YOU FINALIZE THE PURCHASE. this is the most important part, you want to make sure that the live cashback shows up since it's the main component of the deal and bigcrumbs is just icing on the cake.
5. ???
6. Profit!
I'm tempted to get an iPod touch with this. Anyone know if its worth it?
If you had bought it 2 days ago, I think the 16GB 2nd gen can be had for $300 shipped - 30% cashback = $210.

Now the best you can do is $231 after cashback, which is still not bad compared to $300 MSRP.

Ok so here's the screen I got...

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=zwzdtyq2joc&thumb=5

If I make a purchase like that I get 30% off for sure?
Is there anyway I can mess it up from this point? Because I can't afford to mess this up.

Also is the banner always 30% so far it's the only one I've seen.
I get up to $200 of 6 separate BIN purchases? This is just amazing.
A big thanks to the OP, this will really help me out on some things I needed.

What's wrong with an "open box" PS3? Do you think it got stripped for parts? It's just used, right?

Yeah it is. Did you seriously spend $380 on a Wacom Table though!?!?!!?!

Well, I topped out with my 6 purchases. I again, thank the OP for letting us know of the deal. The totals below are all after cash back.

PS3 COD 4: $23.63
PS3 Disgaea 3 NEW: $27.50
PS3 Rock Band 2 NEW Game only Preorder: $45.21
PS3 Rock Band Wireless Guitar: $27.15
Rock Band Drum Pads NEW: $12.79
2 94 HP ink cartridges NEW: $21.98

Nothing big, but not bad in my book. I bought items I knew I would eventually buy anyway, so I figured I might as well get 30% cashback.

Surefire way to kill his ebay feedback if these don't ship...

Yes, that makes no sense. The seller was probably like, well, i have 25 available..hmm...why don't I be a pile of crap and say I have 100, just for fun. It's genius.
in for an 80GB MGS4 PS3 bundle, $410 after shipping
do you know off hand is the ps3 mgs4 bundel is backwards compatible with ps2? older model?

Wow, can't believe the 30% is still going. Just ordered a 120 gb hard drive for my 360. Total will be about $65 when the cashback comes. Thanks OP

Tried looking at some gift cards. Everyone is tacking on a lot for their cards. Pay 400 for the 300 card and in the end it only costs 280. SUPER DEAL!

then you get to wait 60 days for the cashback all for 20 buckaroos!!
