A: No one knows but here is a prediction list based on release / leaks in the last few years to give you an idea of possible release dates.

Q: When are stores open?
A: Look above for store times located next to store ads.

Q: Can I price match on Black Friday?
A: Price Matching differs from store to store. Here is the list of stores with if they PM or not on BF. You can also go here for further explanation on BF policy per store.

Q: Does Best Buy's GCU stack with Black Friday items?
A: No. GCU does not stacked with Black Friday items. Best Buy does have early Black Friday sales if you are an Elite / Elite Plus member. Sometimes it has shown to work within the early minutes of those early BF deals popping up. But it's YMMV.

Q: Does GameStop's Elite and Elite Pro stack with Black Friday items?
A: Yes but only for used items that will be in the ad.

Huh, so basically what I've paid for recent games on release day with GCU and $10 RZ certs is going to beat anything we see on BF with the exception of Tomb Raider by $8. Roger.

WWE 2K19 did not come out on the Switch. If you've played 2K18 on Switch then you'll know why it's an absolutely terrible port of the game.

That's why I posted (and jumped on) the BB NBA 2K19 Switch sale a little while back for $32 after GCU. It was going for around BF price, so I thought it was a good time to get in on it.

More of a cheap ass deal instead of a gamer thing, but both John wick movies are on VUDU disc to digital where you can get the digital copy for $2 each. Would also recommend making sure you have everything centralized through movies anywhere just to make streaming easier since Fire TV doesn’t have a native Vudu app. Also dvd2upc is a great site to see what else is available on disk to digital.
 
I'm a little new to the whole black friday thing- will any of the doorbuster deals be available online, does anyone know?

Cuz I'd sure like to get that Spider-Man PS4 deal but I'd rather eat glass than have to show up at a store and fight other people for one.

 
Something like the console bundle will almost certainly be available online as well. If you watch, people on this site will update nearly the moment the items become available.

The safe assumption would be no. I dont remember doorbusters ever being available online

Early signs are looking good for this year's BF, all things considered. The game deals look solid.

Hopefully BB has a competitive ad.

I'm not seeing anything in their ad from last year, but did GameStop do any kind of deal on new 3DS/2DS XLs? I'm hoping to pick one up this year and I'm sitting on a lot of points.

I don't know how it works now, but newspaper employees might be the best source. Back when I was in packaging and distribution we bundled all the ads and staged them well beforehand. Crazy week.

 
Winners are The Evil Within 2 (never been close to that price before) and God of War. The rest have been this price or cheaper before - e.g. Crash Trilogy for $20 (16 w/GCU) from Best Buy. Yeah no mr Bandicoot.

So question, my GCU is valid until March 19 but I never used it on BF. I know it doesn't stack but can you apply your GCU discount on top of the BF prices?

Doesn't work on BF but a lot of the same prices will happen again on Cyber Monday where it does.

 
I don’t understand why anyone would pay for a pro or one x if the have the originals and for the fact that both companys are releasing other systems soon.
 
I don’t understand the need to buy an Xbox 1x or a ps pro if you already have a ps4 or Xbox 1 and with both companys putting out new systems very soon it doesn’t make much sense to spend that much money instead of buying the newer systems.
 
Makes a lot of sense if you have a 4K TV and you want your games to look as good as possible. :D

The 1X is more than worth it IMHO, especially if you have a nice 4K TV. I've had it since launch and haven't regretted it since.

 
I hate this BJ's ad.  You can either buy a really expensive laptop which is still really expensive even after the discounts, or you can buy a cheap piece of shit for practically nothing.  There is no middle ground.  I think I'm just going to give up on the idea of buying a laptop this year.

1. If you have a 4K display and for the added system performance. It's why I upgraded to a Pro and it was well worth it.
2. How do you know new systems are coming? Even if they were, people still want to play games from this gen. Assuming there isn't backwards compatibility and newer systems cost more, there is still reason to buy the current gen.

2 years is going to feel like an eternity when all the new games are stuttering along with framerate drops on those OG systems.

I gambled and went the Target route for both with RedCard 5% back. $40.65 each in NY with sales tax

My third game was Spider-Man. My reasoning is that I believe COD and Spider-Man will NOT drop below $40 or maybe even $45 this holiday season. Yes, Ass Creed was a bit of an overpay but so far we have not seen it below $35 for BF and I needed a third game to get the other two. I also have all 3 installed and started playing them now and I have peace of mind that I do not have to research/find deals for them Black Friday week thru New Years sales. If better sales do pop up I may end up eating $10 to $20 for not waiting but all 3 are games I want to play now. I may even flip Spider-Man on ebay after beating it and get a decent chunk of that cost back by Christmas.

It would have been worth it with the trade in bonus at Gamestop/and Red Dead promo. I'm kicking myself for not doing it.

$200 to upgrade and I would imagine an X trade in will get at least $100 more than an original or S when the new systems come out.
 
In the Target ad, the $35 section has a Switch game leaning against AC Odyssey but I cant see the title on the spine...any ideas on what it might be?

I predict a PS5 announcement by E3 2019 and if it has backwards compatibility (which Sony has to be seriously considering at this point in order to stay competitive) we're going to be seeing even PS4 games running better on a PS5 than they would on a Pro. I have a backlog dating back to PS3, it's pretty easy for me to hold out on the newest releases until then.

My brother got RDR2 and a Pro, he'll be playing it right now. We share our PS4 games. Once I get a PS5, assuming it's backwards compatible, I'd be able to play the same version of the game but running much better than it would on any PS4 model. I'd much rather save my console budget and spend it on a more future-proof next gen console since it's not too far off now.
