I just couldn't resist. I know i talked down on this deal but i decided to make a stop anyways.

Picked up:
Terminator Salvation
Ninja Assassin
Tropic Thunder
District 9
Hellboy 2
Jumper (has a scratch but i just watched it, works fine [doesn't run along the data, it's a slash across])
Watchmen Director's
Alice in Wonderland
Scott Pilgrim
The Assassination of Jesse James

for 40+tax

I was even more surprised that they all have the original art sleeve! I always thought they still used their own sleeves back when i use to rent DVD's there. Gonna hit the neighboring city's BlockBuster to see if they have more selection.

not that surprsing. Wee already brought up that they have the original cover art. you must not have looked at a bluray at your Blockbuster

damn, you found the Godfathers? very nice.

I almost picked up The Road. Pretty amazing movie, but I don't think I will ever watch it again after seeing it once. Not an easy movie to watch.

Just came back with:

2012
Cloudy with a Change of Meatballs
Eyes Wide Shut (not for me)
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

$21.65. No signage at my store, and only one main section of previously viewed Blu-rays. Discount rang up automatically at the register, no password needed/asked for.

Only 2 or 3 of those were ones I really wanted, but the selection at my BBV wasn't so great and I didn't want to pass up such a good price per Blu-ray. Now to get cases...

This was an awful sale. None of them come in their original cases and even the artwork was a re-printed replica blown up to fit a DVD case and not the original.

Worthless.

For some reason I had the number "$40" in my head, so it was a pleasant surprise when my total for 15 movies came out to $60+tax instead of $120+tax.

Here was my haul:
Adventureland
City Island
Fired Up
The House Bunny
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist
Ninja
Pirate Radio
Remember Me
The Road
She's Out of my League
A Single Man
The Time-Traveler's Wife
Up in the Air
The Wackness

You might want to check again. All of the movies at the two BBs I visited have the original blu-ray artwork over a larger blue background but they are actually separate pieces of paper even though it looks like a printout. You can buy blu-ray cases for less than $1 each.

Picked up the following:

Zombieland
Shutter Island
Scott Pilgim
Red Cliff Part 1 and 2

Manager even gave me four blu-ray cases.
Picked up:

Red Cliff Part 1 & 2
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (
BAD choice on Taken. Taken is an AWESOME action flick. Repo Men is a mediocre flick that turns to Gawd awful in the end
Yea, I was debating it for the longest time. I know Repo Men isn't a great movie, but I sort of liked the atypical ending. I dunno, I might go back tomorrow and see if the manager will let me switch them.

got

Zombieland
Letters to juliet
Obsessed
Back Up plan
The collectors

will go on another blockbuster tom. the employee told me the sale is until this weekend only.
One pick up today that is not on the sale list is Lonesome Dove on Blu-Ray. It rang up @ $9.99, making it part of the sale. I had no idea it was released on Blu-Ray.
I guess it's too late now, but I would have held off on that one. I picked it up from Amazon last year for $6.

Picked up:

Scott Pilgrim ---for me
Benjamin Button---for me
G.I. Joe---oldest son
Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen---for me
Planet 51---youngest son

Just blew $60 on this deal. Was set to spend $40 but went to a other BB and said fuck it. Might have to go back one more time before the sale ends but help me jeebus.

i have a feeling theyre gonna do this sale in the later future. i just realized theres no point in my buying and rushing this because by the time ill get to it, they'll probably have more sales like this. anyone feel the same way?

im hoping they do, but incase they are rare and far in between I'm stocking up.

Just went back to my local store today and they got a tonnnnnnnnnnn of blus in. Lot of stuff they only had one copy of, like the original Friday the 13th and Kevin Smith films. so Im glad I went today and scored these:

Inglorious Bastards
Halloween (Zombie)
Halloween II (Zombie)
Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th (2009)
Dogma
Clerks II
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Drag Me to Hell
Ponya
500 days of Summer
The Thing
Before the Devil knows your Dead
Taken
She's Out of My League

My cases I ordered also came in today. Perfect timing. 25 blus from blockbuster and 25 blu cases. Di the 5 day shipping and got them in 2 days. :)

I got:
Scott Pilgrim
Coraline
Ponyo
The Invention of Lying
Funny People

I was hoping for The Princess and the Frog but no big deal. Everyone I picked up except for The Invention of Lying was the last copy they had.

just curious, anyone ever seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith on sale at BBV? I want to get that movie but it is so expensive for an old movie at like best buy or amazon.
Went to 4 different Blockbusters but none had Gandhi or Let Me In so if anyone has either or saw either in their store and are willing to part with it, I'll trade one below to you (minus the select few I definitely wanna hang onto). PM me.
I've seen a Let Me In... That was when it started on tuesday tho, I'll let you know if i can head back and grab it if its there... I don't recall seeing a gandhi tho but I'll keep my eyes open. I want that ponyo...
I guess it's too late now, but I would have held off on that one. I picked it up from Amazon last year for $6.
$9.99 was the regular price with the sale it would be $4. So this was a better deal.

Oh, I know that, but I just figure most people would think getting a $6 BD new with case is better than $4 for a Blockbuster used w/o case.

I actually decided to buy Dumb & Dumber new from Amazon last night for $6, even though I already added on my to-buy list for round two of my movie-buying binge.

Speaking of round two, here's my haul today:
9
Changeling
Deliverance
District 13: Ultimatum
Easy Virtue
Finding Neverland
Frost/Nixon
Gandhi
The Girl Who Played With Fire
Give 'Em Hell Malone
The Last Station
Lonesome Dove
A Serious Man
Shutter Island
World's Greatest Dad

Was surprised not to see any Indiana Jones...Crystal Skull at my store. The movie was painful, but I would have liked to see all the supplemental materials. Next closest store to me is ~10mi away in a side of town I don't normally otherwise visit, so I'm able to keep my hunting itch under control.

I got

Bolt
Shutter Island
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Wanted
Push
The Road
Boondock Saints II
Yes Man

Those are on Blu I picked up Marmaduke and Furry Vengeance on DVD for my little brothers birthday next week.

Lucked out with Ponyo yesterday! Went to a nearby store and they didn't have itand looked it up and said 'no one in the city has a copy for sale, but they found a store that had Princess and the Frog. I went to pick up PatF and found a lone copy of Ponyo! Was quite happy! :D

Ended up getting way too many movies, but what a deal at 4$ each! :)

I would love to find 9, now!

Thanks for the heads up! Picked up:

 • youth in revolt
 • ninja assassin
 • shutter island
 • the road
 • boondocks saints 2 (blind buy) Assuming not as good as the first?
After replacing the rental cases with the rocketfish ones from Best Buy I'm looking at about $28.12. Not bad at all.

Is it 100% sure the blockbuster will get more bluray in tomorrow? I check another store in my area and see one of them get Hot Rod but the rest of the movie are trash.

Just got back...I got a good haul BTW I might go back for some of the higher priced BR's they are also doing a 3 for $20 on movies $14.99 or less(dvd & BR) saw Get him to the Greek & Ironman 2 for 12.99

anyway here is todays haul for $40 + tax

Shutter Island
The Proposal (for wife, it is actually a good chick flick)
Paranormal activity
Zombieland
Case of Ben Button
Star Trek 2009
Tommy Boy
Tinkerbell & lost treasure (for daughter)
*Grown ups*
*Forgetting Sarah Marshall*

Some had stickers for 12.99 but after a price check revealed they were 9.99

Holy crap. Between this, and the current BB and Amazon Midnight sale, And the previous 6.99 and 7.99 sales, my collection is finally getting some good catalog titles in it.
I never wanted to upgrade Comedy's to blu ray, but at these prices, screw it. time to get rid of a bunch of DVD's.

went to my neighboring city's BBV, picked up:

Speed Racer, Sherlock Holmes, Hurt Locker, Wanted, Beowulf.

Talked to the clerk at BBV, we was sorting the stuff for the sale tomorrow. He didn't know the exact details but he was setting them all on the cart ready for tomorrow.

Beowulf! Wish I had seen that at my BBV. really wanted that. If anyone finds one, let me know. I've got a bunch of BDs for trade.

$80 later......
