WE DO NOT HAVE PDFS OF THE COUPON PRINTING COUPONS, THE COUPONS ARE INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Please keep trade and other off topic chatter to a minimum. It is healthy and unless it gets out of hand or really off topic or in a direction that is heading towards fraud or illegal actions, please do not worry.

The Disney Movie Rewards site has changed, the coupon printing is now associated with your account, printing 2 times per account is now the limit, as well as per computer. This was tested at the end of the Toy Story craze a few months back. If you have a girlfriend with an account or a brother or sister, see if you can have their extra coupons if you need them.

So here are the coupons:

OK, just putting this out there but what if you pre-order BatB or TS3 WITH the Tinkerbell pre-order? Lol, you think it would make that transaction a total of $5? I'm going to have to try this because it's just so crazy enough that it might work.

Are you just playing with us now? (LOL)

Total would be $20 since the $10 off is any DVD or BR $19.99 or higher.
the preorder cards wont work to reduce the preorder cost of another movie, only the actual movie.
Eh, it was worth a shot but yeah -- didn't work. Threw down a pre-order for Tink since I was there in case I change my mind. Since it comes with a DVD, might send it to my niece since I'm sure she'll love it.
Is TRU good about price matching? They have Tinkerbell going for 29.99 but Best Buy has it at 25.99.
no price matching policy at all. they do not do it.

So TRU runs these $10 discounts often then? I'll be honest: I never used to check this thread until it was cross-referenced with a BD I wanted from Disney.

they have done them a couple times a year recently but only on animated films and not live action movies. if there are no preorder deals when ts3 comes out, just get it at the cheapest place.....which is what we are doing now with tinker bell.

Penguin-- what I've found (and I've had to use a few times) is if when you are printing the coupon, it opens so that you can see the coupon that is printing, you can do a print screen (either the entire screen or using some print screen software like Gadwin) paste that to a doc or email, then print that where you have access to a printer. When my printer at home was glitching, I used this method to print the TS3 movie coupons. :)
is there any way to print the coupons while avoiding the whole coupon printer bs?

my printer broke at home and I'm trying to print it at rutgers but the damn thing wont let me install it on the comp lab computers -.-
this. and the drivers for the computer lab won't work on my computer.

I'm going to make a sincere effort to fix my printer tonight.

thanks though!

Tried to buy POP tonight with all three current pre-orders and even though my sub-total was still $26.99 even after the $8.00 MC for POP the $5.00 off of $25.00 would not stack. The CSR could not figure out why it didnt work so I might go back tomorrow and see if I can get it adjusted at the CS desk.

I hate to be THAT guy, but can someone please explain the best deals for all of these Disney blu-rays at TRU? It seems like everyone explaining it to the other knows what they're talking about and it makes it very hard to follow. So I hate to be the guy who asks, but can someone please explain this thing top to bottom? I don't really care about Tinkerbell, but I would love to get Toy Story 3 and BatB at a great price. Right now I'm getting BatB for about $15 at Best Buy.

It's because the discounts lower the price below $25. It's shitty, but you need a manager to approve an override, if they're even willing to.

Well, Tinkerbell effectively gets you another $5 off BatB and TS3, so even if you dump it in the garbage it's worthwhile.

Up front you pay $10 for a Tinkerbell pre-order. Then, when you pick up the Tinkerbell (priced at $30 MSRP) you place a pre-order for BatB and TS3. These will add $10 to the total transaction, but reduces the price of Tinkerbell by $20 from discounts. Now apply the $10 manufacturer coupon and Tinkerbell is free. Then the $10 you deposited for Tinkerbell will take care of the price of the two new pre-orders you placed. As part of the pre-order promotion for Tinkerbell, they will also issue a $10 GC with you can value as a bonus since everything else cancels out.

The math: $30-$20+$10-$10-$10=$0+$10

For BatB, assuming MSRP $35, you can immediately take off the $5 from your pre-order. Then place another TS3 pre-order for $10 off and add $5 for the pre-order. Now apply the $10 manufacturer coupon and use up your $10 GC from Tinkerbell. BatB ends up being $5 all said and done but technically cost you $10 since you can only value the GC as completely free. You were still out of pocket $5 for the pre-order.

The math: $35-$5-$10+$5-$10-$10=$5

i have done this in the past but no matter what i get people who still dont get it (no insult meant to anyone). it can get confusing at times and some people put wayyyyy to much thought into it. with 3-5 people posting how it should go and what people should be doing, i left it at ill give you the promos and you do what you want with them.

the main problem exists is when people start returning pre-orders. if you dont, its alot simpler. i personally am waiting till all is said and done with beauty and the beast and then returning what i dont use.

Amazon credited me $10 for Tinker Bell. I only have to pay $1.99 shipped. :D

Hello,

I'm sorry this promotion wasn't applied to your order.

To correct this error, I've reduced the cost of your order by $10 and applied the promotional credit to your order #xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx.

I hope this solution works for you. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

From the couple of posts above, am I right in reading that the $10 you put down as deposit for Tinkerbell doesn't go towards paying for the movie? Is TRU not like other stores where the deposit money gets deducted from the total price of the movie when you pick it up at release?

The $10 is counted towards the purchase. The difference is that with this Tinker Bell deal, there are so many discounts, the movie will be effectively free and the $10 deposit will go towards the pre-order costs.

you are missing something. tinkerbell should be 10 out of pocket (on purchase before the movie is released) and beauty and the beast should be 5 with 5 down on toy story 3 (assuming you use the giftcard from tinkerbell). its a lot to think about when there is no way to go try it. writing it down seems to help some people.

if you think about it, dont. just do it. it will make sense.

----------------------------------------
my advice to everyone. go preorder tinkerbell for 10 in any purchase you want, now through sept 20. keep it or give it as a gift or sell it to a co worker. your total for this transaction will be 10 higher than it would be without the pre-order.

on release day or anytime until 10/3 (coupon expires that day) go buy a copy while preordering both ts2 and batb. use the coupon and dont forget your receipt and pre-order card. you total for this transaction should effectively be 0 with no issues with anything scanning. it does not matter the order anymore. and you will get a $10 gift card.

on 10/5-10/9 go purchase your copy of batb. preorder another copy of ts3. use the coupon and dont forget your receipt and pre-order card. you total for this transaction should effectively be 5 with no issues with anything scanning. it does not matter the order anymore.

toy story 3 pricing and promos is still too far away to look at.
----------------------------------------

all prices above are assuming no sale price and no tax.

You're making the same mistake I did first time through. Remember that you're adding $5 for each pre-order, which makes the total cost $40 ($30 for Tink and $10 for TS3/BatB). That's why you place the two pre-orders because your $10 deposit for Tinkerbell just transfers to BatB/TS3. Does that make sense?
Would you be able to share the details on how you achieved this??
most likely got in on the promotion on amazon.

I am going to post this again for everyone asking.

1) preorder Tinkerbell for $10. (before 9/21)

2) when you pick up the movie (no particular order).
29.99 Tinkerbell
-10 BATB Preorder
-10 TS3 Preorder
+10 (2 preorders)
-10 Tinerbell preorder from (1) (bring your receipt and preorder cards)
-10 Manufacturer Coupon.

Total should be $0 plus tax in the end, regardless how the gift card is rung up since it is free with purchase for reserving.

Tinkerbell BR, $10 GiftCard, $5 on BATB and $5 on TS3 for the inital investment of $10. (When picking up the Tinkerbell BR, might just have to pay a few pennies on the tax).

Tinkerbell BR, $10 GiftCard, $5 on BATB and $5 on TS3 for the inital investment of $10. (When picking up the Tinkerbell BR, might just have to pay a few pennies on the tax).
no matter how many times you post it, people are still not going to get it. thats why im saying dont think, just do.

I know but this thread is getting out of hand asking the same thing over and over. Do you think we should start a new thread just to show people how deals work so we do not have to clutter this one?

I think it would be a muddled mess, new thread or no.
You mean, how to abuse a pre-order promotion and people not understanding how to abuse it themselves? I think it would be a muddled mess, new thread or no.
It's not "abusing" a preorder promotion. There's nothing on the BatB or TS3 preorder cards to say you can't apply their discounts to TB3 (though other aspects of TRU's math may cause problems, especially if you try both at the same time); nor does the TS3 preorder card prevent you from using it on BatB. And finally, there's nothing on the TB3 preorder card that says you can't use the GC on BatB and/or TS3.

We'll just see how it all works out on Tuesday. (That goes for the price as well; even the $29.99 prices for TB3 & BatB in last week's ad do NOT prevent TRU from having a lower price next week. If anything, the $29.99 prices were for website preorders.)

I wasn't including TS3 as I will preorder that towards BatB. I see how you're numbers work now.

Well, quite honestly I see any pre-order bonuses as forfeit once the sale has concluded. You can take moral ground with this, but as far as fine print goes it's perfectly legal. I don't see any policy stating that pre-orders must return all items/promotions at time of cancellation.

Can't you simply go through with the purchase of the actual movie then return it for the full refund anyway?

Not sure what you mean. Why would I want to return everything for a refund?
Instead of returning preorders, use the preorder to buy the movie and then return it.
Ah ok, thought he was talking about returning Tinkerbell. Yeah, that's actually a good way to do it if you're not picking up like 10 pre-orders lol.
Instead of returning preorders, use the preorder to buy the movie and then return it.
Or better yet, exchange it for something you DO want. I bought TB2 (not on a preorder, but on another TRU deal) last Christmas as a gift for one of my niece's kids, but she already had it; I exchanged it for full value (including coupon and WITHOUT any GC deduction) for 101 Dalmatians & The Jungle Book DVDs (the ones on their way "back to the vault" at that time). I may keep TB3, however; something about Tink and the other fairies meeting a human being actually intrigues me in a way the first two didn't.

Now that I think about it, you could exchange Tinkerbell for something else with a gift receipt, no? God, if only they'd actually restock Ponyo.

jgiovanni, I don't think starting a new topic specially for getting pre-order deals to work right, would be effective. BUT that post you had that thoroughly explained how to do it...well I felt that was perfect. It may not be completely on target with being a coupon, but it's still along the lines of this...so i'd feel that the content of posts like that, that explain it perfectly how to do it would be worthy of quoting on the first post.

to be honest, first time i read it, with all the pre-orders with princess and the frog, i was kinda stumped too on what was going on, but with how you descriptively posted it there, it should be like the "official for dummies guide on pre-order deals" each time one comes around.

if it weren't tinkerbell...i'd be trying it out now haha.

May work, are you panning on trying it out? I would totally swap it out for Alice (as I laready picked up Ponyo).

I have no interest in TB3 (I was planning on selling it) so exchanging it appeals to me as it would save me some work and there are some other Disney BDs I would like. However, after all those coupons and preorder discounts, wouldn't TB3 have a value of $0.00? Will TB3 still have a value of 29.99 for me to exchange for something like Ponyo or Bug's Life?

Wondering the same. I will get a gift receipt on Tuesday with it and then go to CS to check the value of an exchange.

Here's the deal: the gift receipt just lists exactly what you bought on it. That's it. No discounts, no tender paid, just what you got. Considering they gave me shit about trying to return a pre-order before with just a gift receipt (said I could only get store credit), I'm willing to bet that if you just ask for an even exchange they won't think twice. The only thing I could foresee being a problem is the GC, but I'll have to see how the receipt prints out. I would love to trade Tink for James or something else they have in stock that I don't have yet.

One more question: at which point during the transaction are people using the 5 off 25 coupon? Is this when we go to pick up TB3 and place the BatB and TS3 preorders?

You don't unless you want to fight for manager approval. That coupon doesn't work once the price goes below $25 with discounts.

It surprises me that someone who would like Ponyo or A Bug's Life wouldn't be interested in Tinker Bell 3, especially for the price we'll all be getting it at. o_O

Have you even seen the movie yet ?
