Um, no.

Ignoring the fact that Apocalypto/Superman Returns were filmed with the Panavision Genesis camera (native 1080p) and the fact that actual film is a much higher resolution than 1080p which is just shrunk down for home release, Zodiac wasn't entirely shot with the Thomson Viper. They used a normal camera for the slow-mo death scenes.

First mainstream film to be shot 100% digital was Attack Of The Clones, back in 2002.
It's believed to be the first full-length studio feature film shot and produced entirely as data from start to finish, with no physical media involved beyond backing up all raw imagery to 500 vaulted LTO data tapes during postproduction.

I was mistaken with the claim of it being first shot in HD, but it is the first tapeless film (at least according to this)
:whistle2:k Warner shipped Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, but Escape From Guantanamo Bay still in process.
same here

And I've had my white castle since Friday
Sweeney Todd has fantastic PQ

It's probably the best :br: I've seen so far.
Did you import it?

Does anyone have the import of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

Is it just me or does White Castle look better than the newer one?

White Castle was decent for a stoner movie. GB was pretty blase imo.

Is anyone elses digital copy code for H/K guantanmo bay NOT WORKING? Ive input it at least 5 times, exactly how it is, and it keeps coming up invalid..

Any ideas :(

I emailed and they said they weren't allowed to ship before street date, yet I had both Lost Boys & White Castle in my hands Friday

And I just got an email saying it's being shipped today, but it's not the "shipped" email

I just noticed that LA Confidential is getting the Blu treatment (released alongside a 2-disc SE on September 23rd). Can't wait. Great movie with an excellent ensemble cast.
Wow, $40 for the new Futurama movie? There's no way in Hell I would buy that for that much.
That's the MSRP. It will retail for around $25.

Even though I own a 60GB PS3 and more then 20 Blu-ray movies it is bad I can't walk into a Bestbuy and see any movie I can buy for less then $25.

Almost everyone of my current movies I got a deal on or traded for.

It's also noteworthy because it was the last time Kevin Spacey actually appeared in a good movie. ;)

You do know the digital copy does not work for iPods...right?

Seriously. I'm lucky that there's a local mom&pop store near me that sells them at $19.99 when they get them in. It kinda sucks though because I have almost 50 BR movies.. which reminds me, I need to go check if they got Doomsday in yet.. and Lost Boys
Anyone know where Doomsday can be had for under $25?
Nowhere. Cheapest is 27.95 from Amazon.

Everywhere else is 29.99

Wait for a BOGO if youre looking for it cheaper.

Its a great movie though :)

Actually you can get it at family video for $24.xx with free shipping using code GAMEPRO7 but I don't buy movies over $20.

I can't believe nobody has posted this yet.

Mark your calendars, Kubrick fans: Sony Pictures has announced a December Blu-ray debut for the comedy classic 'Dr. Strangelove.'

Starring Peter Sellars and widely considered one of Kubrick's finest efforts, 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb' will make its much-anticipated bow on Blu-ray December 9.

Given the early lead time of the studio's announcement, there are no tech specs or supplement details available. However, Sony previously released a special edition DVD release, so a comparable batch of bonus features is expected. Stay tuned.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $28.95.

Actually I was more excited to see that Sony is working on a Taxi Driver BD. I love Dr. Strangelove, but I think Taxi Driver is going to benefit more from the BD treatment than Strangelove.

You are in for a treat sir. Far and away one of my favorite films. Stunningly brutal and poetic.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one having a hard time in going over to high def? The $20-30 price range on most movies is just more than I generally feel comfortable with. I am tempted get that Dark City deal on amazon and maybe 2001: A Space Odyssey, though. Those are really the only movies I've felt like upgrading to for the moment. I'm also trying to decide between Iron Man on Blu-ray or the steelbook DVD.

Trust me...you aren't the only one. Almost all of the hi-def movies I have so far were gotten at good prices. I rarely ever spend more than $20. The only ones I can think of are sets, like Die Hard and the Ultimate Matrix, and the Batman Begins giftset. There have been a ton of movies I have balked at over price.

You pretty much summed it up for me too. I remember when DVD hit and online prices were dirt cheap, oh the good old days. I had a ton of DVDs in a short time. I only have a few blu-rays and mostly use the hell out of my NetFlix membership. I am looking forward to the day when the studios realize that we just can't afford these prices and if they want to sell mass quantities they will have to come down. God bless Netflix and the PS3.

Nothing is going to make Taxi Driver look better. The grain will be more prominent and the whole thing will probably look dirty.

Stranglove will be grain city too, but will have some pretty exceptional detail and a very hi-res look.
Because both are so grainy there is an unfortunate chance of DNR. Sony hasn't done this yet, so it could be good.

Superman Doomsday wins the award for best BD surprise.

Anybody else not a big fan of Superman/Doomsday? I was really excited leading up its release, but it really ended up disappointing me. I understand it would be impossible to do the entire Death and Return story justice in one movie, but they simply veered too far off the path for me. Plus, the battle against Doomsday was awful.

It's on Blu-Ray now?

Hmmmm Judd Apatow3 pack & Godfather Trilogy from Family Video.

$115.xx before tax, end up saving at least $27 over Amazon, because they don't have that 3 pack up yet.

I think I'll bite.
oh...thanks
Warner's been getting a huge boner for animation on BD lately. Hey Warner, why not, ya know, give me WATERSHIP DOWN?!?!? Argg
