Burnout Paradise - General Discussion & Info / TROPHY HUNTERS WELCOME!
Dang, I'm glad I already entered those codes, I wonder why they took that out?

Also one other thing about the restart, you can use that even if you successfully complete that event. I've found that highly useful when I've completed all the events in the NW corner of the map and all the rest of the events keep sending me from downtown all the way up there. Once you complete the event to the NW corner, restart, hold the brakes to stop the event, then you're in prime position to do another event from the eastern side of the map to the NW corner.
Nice... And I'd say they took out the "Enter Code" thing so they wouldn't have to have two "versions" of the patch.
I "had" a similar problem, before the patch, right after I unlocked the "Gamestop" car. Right after choosing my car the game would lock up. I fixed it by choosing the "Gamestop" car.

If you can choose the car, but it locks up after you choose one, I'd say try picking the one you most recently unlocked. If it locks up right after picking "Play with cars", or whatever it says now, I'd try playing with bikes, then going into a junkyard to see if you can choose cars that way (I don't know how it works since the patch, since I haven't done that.)
Yeah, I tried doing bikes and then cars still didn't work and I tried using the car I unlocked last. I am going to try and delete the update and see if that fixes it. I am not going to do what EA told me and delete my game file.

EDIT: Update. I figured it out. I did what he told me and picked bikes and the car I unlocked last that I hadn't used. I also went to a different junkyard. Not sure if that helped or not.

Here's a problem I noticed. Since 1.6 came out, if you go to the map online, and you highlight a player, a picture of their car doesn't show up. The background image of where the car is supposed to be is still there, but not the car. It's odd.

Kudos to those of you who finished the last burning route (WTR) before the restart option, I had to restart like 20-25 times before I finally got it and having to manually drive back each time would have driven me fucking crazy.

I noticed they have the "Ultimate Box" on psn for 29.99... I thought that was funny, they charge you a penny to save you the hassle of downloading and installing the game (and patches) and the party pack.
You still have to download the Party Pack, the Trophy Patch and 1.6 separately. That's how PSN does bundles.
OMG... I thought it was like a downloadable Ultimate Box, not just a PSN bundle... so they charge you an extra penny for why, I guess to save you having to put an extra item in the PSN shopping cart.

is it true that if you install 1.6 patch you cant get those cars tha are unlocked by codes. also is there a list of all car codes here somewhere?

has anyone noticed some new trophys available at the bottom of the list a few are for the toy car/bike and some other special cars? But if im right u can't get em yet?

Yeah, after they took out the "Enter Code Here" thingy in the latest patch. You can, however, delete the Game Date (not the user data) and reinstall it when you're not connected to PSN, enter the codes, then repatch.

And the codes are
Steel Wheels car: G23X 5K8Q GX2V 04B1
Walmart Racer: walmart
Best Buy car: bestbuy
GameStop car: gamestop
Circuit City Hot Rod: circuitcity

I am trying to figure out if its worth it for me to do this - I have the Gamestop and BB car already. I dunno....

Also what do you get for getting all of the smashes and all of the billboards? Those tasks are in reach for me, but I am not sure if I want to take the time to get them.

It's not like it takes a lot of time to do it. Personally, I wouldn't. I don't ever use those cars.

And... You may get a Carbon car for doing the smashes and billboards... I'm not sure though, it's been a while.

Got my A liscence today and I think i'm done with the game. Was a decent ride along the way, glad I didn't pay full price for it. I think I perfer the more realistic arcadeyness of MC to pure arcade of Burnout.

Also do any of you guys know which song in the game has the lyrics "and the seasons..." or something like that?

"Girlfriend".

You get a Carbon Car for each. You also get one for doing all the Super Jumps as well. Oh, and thanks to a friend of mine, I completed all the 2-player Freeburn Challenges earlier today. Only halfway to 102%!

Heh isn't Girlfriend, it's a dude voice but thanks :p.

This game looks ugly to me, but i'm guessing it's because I have composite via SDTV, so can't really complain :p
"Girlfriend".
I love that song a lot, by Avril Lavigne. I wish I could have the game loop that song playing it over and over again. ;)

barriers are hard to make out on SDTV's. I can't say how many times i've run into them because from far away they look like jumps. Really can't wait for the component cables I bought from a fellow CAG-er. Both Burnout and Motorstorm look like PS2 games for some reason :/

You can... just disable everything else.

The game defintly needed some electronica and the likes. IMHO, the only things I like in the game are Girlfriend, Creepshow and Rusty Cage (the latter reminds me of the Sega Genesis and the early 90's).

From Criterion's Twitter feed:

May 2009: Big Surf Island
March 2009: Toy Cars pack, Boost Specials pack
February 2009: Time Savers Pack, Legendary Cars

I guess there goes the theory that the "Legendary/Boost/Toy cars" will be bundled together.

But :whee: only 3 months until Big Surf Island.

Do you have the PSN version? If you do, you're SOL. If not, delete all patches, then play it offline and put in the codes.

And here I was thinking it'd be $4 for all of them...

Way too much for 1 car. I was expecting something along the lines of $1.50 for each, and a bundle for $5. Oh well, I'll just stick with the original cars.

I'm definitely going to get it. I do wonder why this is less than the Party Pack though. Hmm...will there be another update, too? Or will these just be 108kb unlock codes?

I was hoping it would be $5 for all of them as well. I may wait for the new island and hope there is some kind of bundle with that and the cars, I already have a platinum in the regular game so I don't know how much I would really use these.

I would be willing to pay that much for those cars easily, especially with all the content that they have pumped in for free in the past. But I haven't been playing it lately, so I think I will wait for some of the other stuff and see if there is a bundle as well

8 bucks isn't a whole lot. That's like one meal out so I'll definitely be getting it on thursday.

After the Party Pack was $10 I figured the collection of all 4 cars would be $10, making them 2.50 to 2.49 each then a bundle pack for a dollar or two less. That is what ended up happening, but since there is perceived extra interest in the Delorean they just shifted some of the cost from the other cars to the one with the most interest. Like those DVD bundle packs which have 1 or 2 good movies and the rest crappy movies. It was likely also done that way so that all the cars would cost the retail trickery of XX.99 (does anyone still fall for this?)

I'm interested in at least 2 of the cars so I'll probably just go ahead and get the bundle. It's a shame there couldn't be a 30 second timer when you select them at the Junkyard to try out the cars for free to see how they handle and if you wish to purchase them.

I mainly want KITT and maybe the DeLorean.

This... I can't stand how 90 percent of cars in the game handle.

I'm wondering how much the island will cost. I was hoping for 10 ( maybe 15 ) but with how overpriced the DLC has been so far I'm thinking it will be more. I understand Criterion has given us a lot for free but these prices are kinda high IMO.

I suspect the island will be $20 or $25. Though if it adds another Platinum trophy, I wouldn't be surprised if it were $30.
