CAG Arcade Stick Thread II: World Warrior
I can't remember the specifics of that but the original art stays in one piece when taken off, not a whole lot stopping you from just putting it back on and dabbng some glue on the edges or something to keep it there should you need to sell it down the road. Mine is sitting in a folder right now
Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to look into this.

On a side note I tried to tighten up the spring on my Hori SCII stick today and now it is REALLY sloppy in the neutral position . Guess I need some new springs.
Out of curiosity, do the new TE's (the redesigned ones) have the stick top mounted or bottom mounted? Cuz I seem to recall that the reason I wanted to get rid of the HRAP3 so badly was because the way the stick was mounted, it felt really ghetto.

If the new TE has the stick in there all ghetto, Mad Catz can suck my World Warrior.
The HRAP3 is mounted like this. Not as solid feeling as using a mounting plate, IMO.
ix464j.jpg

The current TEs use the mounting plate, like most HRAPs. HRAP3 doesn't. Assuming Mad Catz doesn't change things, the TEs should stay the same. . .
To anyone that has done a plexi-artwork replacement on a TE: is it possible to leave the original artwork on the stick and just overlay the new art? I wouldn't think the original art is all that thick but I wonder if it'd make the whole thing too thick. It'd be metal panel -> Original Art -> plexi -> buttons.

I kind of want to keep the original art in case I ever want to sell it (MVC2 stick) but I kind of want to have my own art on there.
When I did my artwork replacement (look 2 pages back for it) I just used laminated card stock. Your art is on a top layer and there is no seperate piece of plexi/lexan that goes on top of that.

If I had a choice to do it again, I'd have probably gotten a thicker piece of paper such as a higher grade card stock, but still wouldn't have gone the plexi-art replacement.

Just remember if you do laminated card stock and a thick pt, tell them whether you want it on the gloss lamination or the back lamination (back is a bit cloudy in comparison but doesn't show fingerprints as easily)

Hope I helped.

What I plan to do is eventually order one of the Plexi covers for the TE from Art's Hobbies (his site is down right now). I work at a camera store so I'm going to print the artwork on photographic paper. One of the guys I work with just got art printed here for his custom stick and it came out really nice.

I'd rather go with the plexi because it looks really slick, is easier to maintain, and keeps the artwork safe. I just wanted to make sure I could have the original artwork in case I ever decide to sell the stick (god forbid) or want to go back to the original.

I just picked up the Tatsunoko vs Capcom fightstick for the Wii and I read that the artwork is prone to rubbing off. I was wondering if there was any way to prevent this or perhaps somewhere I can order a Plexi cover for it.

Well chances are I'm just overlooking it but I thought someone posted a link to another forum that showed that one of the sticks had a larger stick. I can not find that link and I just put an order in for SFIV and thought I would check into that stick for the PS3 as I have the TE stick from the day they came out on the 360. A longer neck on the stick would be a little nicer.

Hey, I'm going to have a crazy promo going on for PAX East weekend (next weekend), so if you wanna get some new sticks from Mad Catz, wait til then!

Good to know MarkMan. Bad thing is that sucks for me as I'm going to have to hold off on getting a stick unless it is out of cash. Even then I might not be able to. I will just have to deal with the PS3 controller for SFIV when it gets here.

Was at Fry's Electronics in Tempe Arizona today and saw the 360 version of the SFIV SE stick on sale for $50 the PS3 version was the usual $60.

YMMV

Just thought I'd let you all know just in case some of you have a Fry's Electronics store nearby.

Ugh, right when I was hoping to pick up a MvC TE stick, they got back up to $140, and I can't find a Femme Fetale stick for the PS3 anywhere for a decent price. I already have two regular TE sticks, so I'm really not trying to spend a ton of money just for different artwork. But I really love that Femme Fetale one. Trying to get back into these fighting games before SSFIV comes out.

I know a lot of gamers complain about XArcade sticks and lag input on console via the adapters, but thought I could at least make them more friendly and comfortable until XArcade steps up the game on the adapter standpoint.
They were 24 inches long each and uncomfortable for two people.

A lot of work later and parts from LizardLick I came up with two of these two player sticks-
Now 32inches long each. Much better.
normal_arcadebox01.jpg

Play tested Tatsunoko VS Capcom with one of them so far and it worked very nicely.
Gonna do custom graphics for them underneath the lexan within the next week.

Picked up two of the SE sticks for cheap $40 for one at Bookman's (local AZ secondhand electronics and books store) and other from Amazon for $55 with free shipping.
Put Sanwa buttons in both of them to replace the stock buttons.

Gonna do custom graphics for them via FedExKinkos Lami-Label within the next week.

Just wait till next weekend. MarkMan a few posts up above said another special is coming for the weekend of PAX East as seen quoted below.

Just wanted to add a thanks to MarkMan for these deals, I would have mos def taken up the previous offers if I hadn't already made SFIV stick purchases. I will likely do more purchases in the future though specifically using your deals, as my Video Gaming crew here in AZ organizes and runs a LOT of casual and tournament gaming and can always use more equipment especially fight sticks.
Plus, I really want one of those TE keychains. :p

Hello everyone! MarkMan here with another discount for the gaming community

didn't get an answer to this last time but is one of the sticks taller then another? Thought I saw a post with a link to another forum where someone posted a pick of the first TE stick and another one of the TE sticks that come out later. One of the sticks was longer then the other and I thought they said it came like that and was not moded.

I guess someone just modded it and I read it wrong then. Thanks MarkMan. I will have to pick up a stick for the PS3 now that I have SFIV for it. I guess that is where my OT money will go just like with the first stick.

Someone told me that Japanese sticks were always superior to American sticks and this was the first image in my mind

Hmm... I'm tempted to pick up a fightpad for my PC/360. We'll see.

Btw, I must be half asleep still, because I read the fine print in MM"s post as "offer available to oriental US residents only." I felt excluded :(

finished my stuff today. Had to frankenstein the JLF in the HRAP because one of the screws that held the mounting plate on the stock one stripped and I couldnt get it off, so I had to grab the gross style one out of the vshg and find some nuts to fit in it. Worked out pretty well though.

The tubing is some clear plumbing tubing I found at lowes for like 65 cents a foot, takes about 9 for all 8 buttons.

yo if anyone cares... the mad catz 20-30% off promo deal ends in about 2 hours.

it'll be our last online promo until may. So if you want discounted hardware BEFORE Super SFIV drops... Do so now.

Looks pretty slick heavy. What kind of bolts did you use on your hori to make it open from the top? I should really get around to that one day.

Nice. RED WHITE AND BLU!

Dammit, my second Femme Fatale 360 stick and the same thing again, the RT/LT do not work AGAIN! Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

Might be the PCB, I know the Femme Fatale sticks were in production before Round 2/fixes were underway.

I would contact Mad Catz to see if you can get a PCB. Are they completely dead? Or it goes on and off intermittently when replugging?

Completely dead. It's been used once since it (the replacement to my original one that was DoA) came from Mad Catz. Tried it tonight and the LT/RT buttons were dead. When it's not in use, I store it in the case.

Also what's a PCB? Is that something that has to be installed?

MarkMan, if Hori only has the BlazBlue license in Japan/Asia you guys should try to hop on it in the US and bring out BlazBlue TE sticks.

Just sayin ;)

Yes, it's the actual motherboard inside the unit.

Also, this may be the issue, but try unplugging the breakaway cable then plugging the unit back in.

If the buttons are still completely dead, then try swapping with another wired breakaway. Let me know how that goes.
I've never opened or owned an arcade stick before last year so I have no clue what any of that means. :(
You have a 360 one, yea? The break away cable is near the end where you stick it in the console, it's meant to protect the console so if you accidentally pull on the cord it'll break off at the break away point instead of pulling the console itself. He's saying to take off the end of the break away, the part that plugs into the console, and try another one.

Just dual modded my first T5 stick (kept the PS2 PCB, using adapters for Wii/PS2, added in the madcatz Gamestick PCB). It was my first stick i ever modded, so its rather messy, but it works perfectly. Thanks to akuma for helping me find the right resistors and diode i needed to get the job done!!

Next on the menu, installing my chImp board into my TE.

This is screwed up. When I got home tonight I decided to try the stick before disconnecting the breakaway cable, and it worked flawlessly. I disconnected the breakaway cable and reconnected just to check and it worked. Keep in mind I hadn't touched it since my post yesterday.

So it's an intermittent issue. If I call the general customer service for Mad Catz, will they know what a PCB is or am I going to have to ship it to them again?

Update: Thanks to MarkMan from MadCatz we will be raffling off the #1 Super Street Fighter IV stick off of their production line. Donors will get one entry into the raffle for every $10 donated (donations of less than $10 still get an entry. Every dollar counts!). Thanks MarkMan and MadCatz!

Has anyone picked up an MC TE "S" yet? My HRAP EX-SE is on the fritz since somehow one of the cables from the joystick got cut. How the hell this happened I have no clue but it has a very delayed reaction now after I stripped the wire and reconnected it. Instead of pissing around with this stick any longer I thought I would try out the new MC TE.

I haven't be following what is upgraded about it so any info or impressions would be helpful.

It's pretty much the same as the TE, the main difference is that the top feels a bit sticky but it does feel like you have more room to put down your hands.

In other words, nothing that would really affect your game.

The main differences between the TE and TE "S" are...

- Revised PCB
- Full top art panel
- "S" Side Panels
- Lock switch now locks out Start & Select/Back buttons
- Two different designs (Black & White)
