just pre-ordered the Fight Stick T.E. from Amazon. Only 159.xx with one day shipping. Not bad.
Exactly what I did. I need that shit NOW!! :)

I was considering pre-ordering the HRAP EX for the 360 as a late Christmas gift for myself, but all this SFIV TE hype has me second-guessing myself now. Is it a foregone conclusion that this stick will be better than the HRAP for ALL fighters, or is this just the best bet for SFIV?

This will be the first stick I've bought for this generation, and while I want quality, the extra two months worth of waiting will nearly kill me. That and the Mad Catz label makes me somewhat nervous.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Buy the Hori for 50 now, then eBay for 40 around the time SF4 comes out. Extended rental.

I kept the free shipping--on big ticket items, Amazon has historically ignored standard USPS and used private delivery services (UPS or FedEx Two Day) to ship the items to me in Hawaii.
then pay for shipping.

I jus dropped $230 on a xbox stick to dual mod, and one pad for each system (jus to have them) and standard shipping was only $7.

that's a bargain and hella worth it considering the overall price of the package, as well as the tax on that in california is almost $20
But that's also not my point. My point is that I don't trust Amazon with pre-orders of truly limited things and I want people in this thread to know that because I don't want any of you getting shafted. Just refer to the Fallout 3 Survival Edition or Tales of Vesperia Limited Edition as evidence as such. They eventually got more ToV shipments in, but I'd be cautious if these things are really limited supply.

So, MarkMan, I notice that Gamestop has updated their website with pictures, but I've yet to see if you can choose which design you want for each fightpad... is this something they'll change in the future or at least something we can designate in store?

why choke it when you can shoot it?

i might just buy the SCIV stick so i have something to play with till my SFIV stick arrives... then i can play SFIIturbo HD and SCIV and VF5
to feel it die.
Why'd you get it on 360 and not PS3? You must of known that the d-pad was garbage.

I have have no experience with photoshop or anything like that... so I've been using MS WORD to plan out the art for my modded joystick, lol. I get to see how my re-colored buttons would look too. It's not as bad an idea as it sounds... check it out!
xarcademodplansinWord.jpg

I don't think I'm leaving the Sindel/Khan part in, that was mainly to demonstrate how I'm using the shapes and layers in Word. I really like how Raiden looks though (I'd take out the MKII logo and bring the lighting all the way to the top though). I don't wanna add TOO much beyond that, I want the whole thing to be uncluttered and sexy when it's all done!
blame it on the fighter thread.
Peer pressure whipped that ass. I'm thrilled with my PS3 version but god do I ever get crushed most of the time in ranked matches. Need to L2P.

EDIT - HRAP

The lack of a full spec blog on Capcom-Unity is killing me. I know that I'm not the only one waiting for info on all of these Madcatz releases before preordering anything. Capcom needs to put it out already because preorders will triple the hour they do.

And the fact that the Tournament Stick says Very Limited Quantities everywhere makes it hurt when I have to wait. I die a little with every refresh.
dum question but might as well get this out of the way: I'm guessing no but does a 360 stick work on the PS3? no is what I expect.
hankme, smallwind, and myself will be doing dual mods. Join the party!!

I'm almost definitely joining the dual mod club with my HRAP3. I know that hank can just solder that shit himself, but how are the rest of you gettin' that shit done?

soldering is hella easy dood. I was always intimidated by it, but it's only coz I didnt even kno what it was.

teach yourself, seriously

Seriously, it is easy. Just need a steady hand, and I don't even have that. XD

The only problem I have with making it a dual mod is getting the analog sticks off the controller and running all the electrical shit in the slagcoin guide to keep it from thinking the analog sticks are constantly moving or being pressed. I dont think the 360 is going to get an exclusive fighting games. If anything it will be the other way around. And with the amount of times I've had to get my 360 repaired I'd be super pissed to have a stick with a non working system.

PS3 TE for me assuming the details ever get released on the capcom unity blog...hint hint...nudge nudge...

Well, Battle Fantasia is only on the 360 (at least, in the US), and every other fighter is worse on the PS3.

Then again, the PS3 is generally not region locked, whereas the 360 is more often.

And if hints in the fighting thread by a certain person hold any water, there's the potential for TvC on the PS3 in Japan.

hay Markman! u still got those PCBs??

I tried to take your advice and get those arcade things from Frys but...

dynorb.jpg

I got 3 stripped screws :bomb: I'm now trying to get this thing open by force TT_TT

or at least point me in the direction of sum good screwdrivers so I can go buy me another controller and make another attempt

I really didn't want to drop $150 on a new stick but I can't help it. I've even working some two sticks, one PS3 with sanwa parts with a Cthulhu PBC and the other a X360 with Seimitsu parts. I'm making both for less than $150 but I just can't stay away from the Tourney SF4 stick. This is a weird addiction.

The Street Fighter IV arcade sticks turn out to be pricier than I imagined. Is there good word that the PS3 Street Fighter IV FightStick ($70) will be any better than the Hori Fighting Stick 3 or the Soul Calibur IV Arcade Stick (is one better than the other)? I only need this arcade stick for SSFIITHDR and SFIV so if it's only going to be marginally better, I might not wait.

dood! sharp knives FTW~!!!

ruwmqo.jpg

anyway, I'ma freakin idiot. lol I didnt realize the screw hole things were wide enough to squeeze a regular screwdriver thru... I didnt hafta use my PSP screwdriver anymore (which btw stripped the screws on my slim!!! I hate having a plain black PSP!)

wm17is.jpg

success!!!

btw what is that dangling thing hanging on the bottom right??

it looks like a rumble motor?? rumble in an arcade stick?? lemme kno so I can safely rip it off.

o yah and are astro pop, frogger, and time pilot any good? any1 want them lol

ME!!! Damn, I'm quick.
:lol::lol::lol:

You can safely take it off... Yea it's the rumble motor.

Also, I have PCBs, I have to go through a BOX (you don't know how painful it is!!!) The box is huge!

nasty n8 should be getting hired this week at my place, if he does, I'm going to make him my bitch and order him around to find some bwahaha

BTW, I don't know if that code will work, for the game card, I think they're all expired. ;x

I don't know much about the SFIV arcade sticks, but I hear it will be 100003948 times better than the shitty Hori Fighting Stick 3 and Fighting Stick EX 2 (360). That's what I heard at least.

hahahahahahahaha, damn i will now call that the "JEKKI CHOP" for when i see anyone who has to cut open a pad to get to the pcb. :p

the dangling thing is a rumble motor, jekki chop that shit.

i got like 30 astropop/frogger/time pilot codes from mods i've done. never bothered to use one. but i used all the 2 day live codes to play vf5 on fake accounts to play against high rank people as a kyu. :p

Amazon has the SFIV joysticks up for preorder. This may have been answered, so I apologize, but whats the difference between the $80 stick and the $150? The base looks a little bigger, but the generic description is exactly the same for both.

Just by looking at those SFIV controller pads... I think they are going to feel flimsy, cheap and have crappy response time.

All sanwa parts in the 150 one.

Shhh... maybe he's trying to get MarkMan to reveal details to defend his pads. ;)

I'll use mine, and you can play me in STHD. We can test my response time and after the match I can tell you if it feels cheap or flimsy.

lol.

Coming from the Arcade scene, I do. ;)

I'd rather play in person on an actual cab. :)

Then why hate on a controller if you're not even going to use it?

I'd rather play on a cab too. But it doesn't make me spurt out false claims about how I "think" things are gonna feel before I even use them.

Now I'm not bustin on you just cuz it is something I'm familiar with. I'm just saying, try it before you comment on it.

But yea, arcade cabs. *hugs my 3 arcade machines*.

I'm so getting a Vewlix VS.
