my brother, bless his heart, noticed the xbox was askew, and so he decided to fix it, unaware of the perils of circle scratches. So I'm gonna try and get it fixed tomorrow. There's a game store near my place with a disc repairing console, hopefully that'll work. In the meantime, it's up to hostyl1 whether he's willing to wait to see how tomorrow goes or if he wants to go ahead and find a sub. I'm cool either way.
Since it's your secondary team, we should definitely get a sub. I'd like to get us advanced tonight.
no luck for me for me reaching him. i got to go to bed work early tomorrow.
Yeah, if we can get this other game played, we'll just sim that one. I'm going to make this statement now since there's only one game that hasn't been set up (which is awesome), so it won't feel like I'm coming down on anybody. Just a general thought that I think is relevant to us.
Something was posted in the other league thread that struck me as very profound. Somebody said "they know when the deadline is". I think we should basically just operate on this principle. The deadlines are posted in the thread title, and for this league to stay successful, we need to continue to make progress. Maybe if people know that they can't hold the league up, they'll jump on board and we can all be happy and have a good time moving forward (obviously, Kaster's situation falls under "shit happens". No fault to be found there).
I wouldn't be such a stickler for hard deadlines if we were playing seasons completely independent of each other. But in a franchise setting where bad teams are trying to rebuild through drafts, rookies become stars, stars get old and see their skills decline, it's not fair to just be happy with one season. My biggest fear is people getting discouraged if their game gets simmed. But I hope that four days gives everyone enough time to get it played. The schedule is up. You know who you're opponents are. Get your next game scheduled before we advance if you have to. But we all need to pitch in to keep this thing going.
