PENDING APPROVAL
What are their ages?

All right, hope everybody had a good holiday! Just trying to get us back on track here. Got a couple days left before the deadline, but these are the remaining games.

Seahawks vs Browns
Falcons vs Lions
Broncos vs Dolphins
Chargers vs Jets
Bears vs Buccaneers
Redskins vs Panthers
Steelers vs Cardinals
Packers vs Vikings
Colts vs Saints
Ravens vs Jaguars

Hopefully we can get back to scheduling games and getting some of these played very soon!
What are their ages?
Joseph is 27 and Williams is 31. The potential was an educated guess on my part.

Blade can you check me on his potential when you get a chance.

Yeah, I think bumping it up to a 2nd round pick might be a little more fair. Joseph is only getting better and will probably be a 93+ next season. Meanwhile, Williams might go up a point or two at most, before beginning to decline with age.

Falcons - 27
Lions - 0

It was just one of those games where most things went the Falcons way (outside of one errant throw picked off) and little went the way of the Lions (Stafford couldn't hit a ten foot wall right in front of him).

ATL was definitely nervous to face off against Best and was very fortunate to hold him to 50 yards on 13 carries. A lot of that was helped by him receiving no support from the passing game and the rest of it was carried by a solid tackling effort from my front seven and safeties.

Good game Blade, I think it could go either way if we matchup again.

I started using the Packers playbooks with the Steelers and I definitely felt a lot more comfortable. This was a great game that was always tied or within one score. I had my chances down the line but I threw my only 2 picks of the game in the 4th quarter after recovering an onside kick as well as after an interception return.

Steelers move to 2-5, 0-2 under my leadership.

Arizona Cardinals 35, Pittsburgh Steelers 28

Great game, Aftershock!
FYI - signing Clinton Portis off FA until Moreno is healthy
I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but doesn't the injury replacement have to be rated lower than the lowest player you have at that particular position? Or are we not copying that rule from the other league?
He is a B, and I would do a second round if the league thought that was necessary.
All right, I think as long as you're willing to up the pick to a 2nd rounder, this can officially be approved.

Hmm...good question, and honestly, something I didn't even think about. I'm willing to take opinions on this one, as I can definitely see the argument for it. But at the same time, I don't know how much of a "difference maker" an injury replacement free agent is going to be (especially after we've done a round of free agent pick ups). But I don't think Kaster has used him in a game yet, so if we want to enforce that rule, we probably still could.

Man, I was really hoping you would knock off the Cardinals for me!!!

Can whoever is the commissioner at the moment remove my ban from the franchise? I guess when I was removed from the 49ers, it banned me. I didn't have an opportunity to check until today, so I didn't realize it until just now.

Saints - 14
Colts - 7

Whew...all I can say is thank God this game was indoors. With "weather conditions" that can only be described as "Hawaiian Time Slip", this game had a pretty good amount of button lag. There were times when I couldn't even select my play because I had to press the button 3-4 times, or I'd select the wrong play because it would chug forward all of a sudden. I don't think it was G33's fault...just a long way for that data to travel. I'll take my usual stance and just blame Comcast, lol.

Anyway, Drew Brees had a pretty good game, going 14-20 for 215 yards, with 1 TD and 1 INT (which was a pick 6...but I can't blame him since I had to hammer on the button 2-3 times before he would pass the ball, lol). Jimmy Graham had another big day, hauling in 6 catches for 106 yds. And the Saints defense limited Peyton Manning to 7-13 for 85 yds, with 0 TDs and 1 INT, and held the Colts to 139 yds of total offense. Pretty ugly game. I can only imagine what it would have looked like if the Superdome sprinklers had come on, haha. GG, G33.

Trade is done between Texans and Lions.

Jonathan Joseph was sent for DT Corey Williams and a 2nd Round pick next year.

The Texans now have 2 selections in each of the first 3 Rounds.

Vikings rally to beat the Packers, 17-14. Ponder and Harvin connect for a 58-yard touchdown with a minute left in the game. Needing a two-point conversion to tie, Ponder finds Peterson in the end zone to knot the game. Packers get stuffed on a fake punt play on 4th-and-2 at the 30, and the Vikings milk the clock to kick a game-winning field goal as time expires.

GG pitfallharry.

Yes, it was a very good game. I guess I could've done more to milk the clock in the second half. Seeing how it came back to bite me in the ass, I think I'll play it differently the next chance I get. Like I said in my message, the highlight I viewed after the game showed a clear first down on that fake. I was hoping the booth would review it before you ran your first play, but no luck there.

I'm looking forward to the rematch in Green Bay in a couple weeks.

Looks like we've got 3 games left.

Bears vs Buccaneers (???)
Panthers vs Redskins (Redskins need a sub, but we haven't heard from the Panthers owner in awhile either)
Ravens vs Jaguars (???)

I really hope we can get these done tonight. Subbing or simming, we need to get things moving again.

im open to sub tonight if needed not sure if i quite qualify or not but since joining the league i have only won 1 game and lost 2 games

I'd be fine with you subbing for the Redskins if you can get in touch with Tanabeo.

i can try

In Bucs v. Bears, Kaster went offline mid-match. I hope everything's okay on his end. We'll have to try again some other time as he's not even showing on XBL.

my brother, bless his heart, noticed the xbox was askew, and so he decided to fix it, unaware of the perils of circle scratches. So I'm gonna try and get it fixed tomorrow. There's a game store near my place with a disc repairing console, hopefully that'll work. In the meantime, it's up to hostyl1 whether he's willing to wait to see how tomorrow goes or if he wants to go ahead and find a sub. I'm cool either way.

Since it's your secondary team, we should definitely get a sub. I'd like to get us advanced tonight.
no luck for me for me reaching him. i got to go to bed work early tomorrow.
Yeah, if we can get this other game played, we'll just sim that one. I'm going to make this statement now since there's only one game that hasn't been set up (which is awesome), so it won't feel like I'm coming down on anybody. Just a general thought that I think is relevant to us.

Something was posted in the other league thread that struck me as very profound. Somebody said "they know when the deadline is". I think we should basically just operate on this principle. The deadlines are posted in the thread title, and for this league to stay successful, we need to continue to make progress. Maybe if people know that they can't hold the league up, they'll jump on board and we can all be happy and have a good time moving forward (obviously, Kaster's situation falls under "shit happens". No fault to be found there).

I wouldn't be such a stickler for hard deadlines if we were playing seasons completely independent of each other. But in a franchise setting where bad teams are trying to rebuild through drafts, rookies become stars, stars get old and see their skills decline, it's not fair to just be happy with one season. My biggest fear is people getting discouraged if their game gets simmed. But I hope that four days gives everyone enough time to get it played. The schedule is up. You know who you're opponents are. Get your next game scheduled before we advance if you have to. But we all need to pitch in to keep this thing going.

I can play this morning basically from now till 11:30a EST or after 9:30p. I'd like to play this morning if possible so that this evening could be advanced to next week. It's really suck if this game was simmed as I've already missed two games (my decision) and my bye is the next week (wk 8). I'd feel like I'm losing a lot of momentum.

EDIT: Wait quick question - Is anyone going to be allowed to pick up the Bucs to sub? That is, since Kaster's 360 crapped out mid-match, he never left the Bucs as his franchise team. I guess the commish can "kick" him temporarily?

Give me a sec, I'll check

EDIT: Nope, the Bucs are still assigned to Kaster. The commish will have to kick him or the game cant be played. Thanks for tying though Yanks.

Well Kaster if you leave via the web can you PM me when you do? Alternately, commish, can you PM me when you kick Kaster. That way I dont have to keep F5'ing this page. I can just see the PM pop. Asante sana! (thank you in Kiswahilli, in light of Kwanzaa)

All right, Kaster has been kicked (and reinvited...something I forgot to do right away when I booted G33). If Yanksfan can sub for him, that's cool by me.

Bucs - 35
Bears - 0

Nothing much to report, it was just one of those Madden games where stuff went one team's way and not the others. Hostyl1 played a good game and given our past games, it is easy to write this one off as an aberration.

I freed up the Bucs for next week if Kaster makes it back.

cowboys play the eagles this week i thought they had an owner but i guess they dont looking for a sub for tonight unless there is a eagles owner and its just mistakingly marked on the OP
