CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!

Is the Chargers/Giants owner still in the league? I want to make sure before I send a PM that may never get answered, as I'd like to find a sub as quickly as possible if that's what is needed. He's not posted in the thread in nearly 3 weeks.

Browns - 24
Texans - 21

The Texans D intercepted a pass deep in our own territory as the Browns were driving with 2 minutes to go as the game was tied. Texans number one rated QB Schaub then threw an INT on the second play of the drive on our own 30 yard line with less than a minute and a half.

Awesome game Matt. Very well done on the timeout with one second left then the chip shot field goal for the win! Hope to play ya again in the future. My offense was a little shaky today and I literally lost 4 players to injury in this game. All in all I felt like I could have done better but Hillis is a beast and you played the run/pass balance well. I constantly had to guess which is a sign of good strategy on your part.

Thanks man, you played a good game too. Probably better than me on the mistakes department. On my end I felt I managed the game well, but had too many brain farts. Two of your TDs were from or created by huge 50 plus yard plays. And that one pick you made in the flats made me want to bench McCoy. He completely threw nowhere near the route.
seems like a glitch doesnt make sense of how it could be a legit fumble
Yea sorry about the angle. I viewed it from every way possible and every way it was a forward pass (in front of Schaub and progressing at an angle up field) so I didn't understand what the deal was because even foster was just about a half yard forward is the QB.
Is Ultimate Matt still around? Also if it's okay with everyone id like to try and take on the Eagles as my secondary until another player comes in?
That's more than fine with me. To be honest, it looks like a few people are dropping, and I'm done trying to convince people to stay. You either want to get better at the game or you don't. We're really going to need people to fill in for these teams until we're able to find new owners.

I don't want the rest of the league being dragged down because people got burnt out on the game or their records aren't as good as they hoped they would be. Regardless of the players who may leave, lets all remember that there are still people here who want to play and are improving with each game played. That should be encouraging to all of us.

I really don't know. I guess I'll try to contact him, but it probably wouldn't hurt for you to do the same.
Any reason why?
Got burned out on Madden. The only time I was putting the game in was to play my league game.

Appreciate all the work put in by the commish on the league but just wasn't feeling it anymore.

well in a big time nail biter cowboys win 10-7 over the seahawks
no big time stats to put really boring game really defense on both sides looked pretty amazing.
if QB jackson on the seahawks could have made the easy passes to wide open WRs he prolly would have won this game but Romo also had some rough looking passes too but not quite that bad wasnt u though was jackson for sure
GG mailman i think its time to find a new QB

Buccaneers - 35
Saints - 28

Crazy shootout in New Orleans, with the Saints getting off to a horrid start, and finding themselves down 21-0 midway through the 2nd quarter, before finally rallying and punching in a TD near the end of the 1st half. The Saints continued to claw back until a pick 6 midway through the 4th would seem to seal their fate at 28-14. However, the Saints scored on their next play from scrimmage with an 82 yard TD pass to Lance Moore (which was really a 7 yard pass and a 75 yard run).

After forcing a three and out, New Orleans drove down the field, and on a 4th and 10 at the Tampa Bay 42 yard line, Brees threw a strike to Megatron to tie the game. Not to be outdone, the Bucs answered with an 80 yard pass (again, 20 yard pass, 60 yard run) to pull back ahead and crush the hearts of the fans in 'Nawlins. Crazy ass game, with some ridiculous offensive numbers.

Drew Brees - 12-25, 353 yds, 3 TDs (42, 63, and 82 yds), 2 INTs
Willis McGahee - 13 att, 88 yds, 1 TD
Jimmy Graham - 4 receptions, 88 yds
Lance Moore - 2 receptions, 99 yds, 1 TD
Calvin Johnson - 2 receptions, 105 yds, 2 TDs

And for the Bucs

Josh Freeman - 9-14, 199 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Legarrette Blount - 4 att, 102 yds, 1 TD (broke off a 77 yd run early in the game before leaving due to injury)
Kregg Lumpkin - 15 att, 92 yds, 1 TD
Sammie Stroughter - 3 receptions, 120 yds, 1 TD

Both teams have won in each other's house. Game 3 would be a fun one. :)

Looks like some good games last night, hope we can keep pushing forward this week.

If anyone needs a sub, PM me with some times you are available.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I Pmed the Bengal owner yesterday afternoon, and have received no response. I was hoping to play the game tonight, but it seems unlikely at this point.

I just hope he is not one of the recent members who has resigned.

Edit: Just checked the franchise and he is not listed as the Bengals anymore. So I guess he left.
Edit 2: I looked at his previous posts and I guess I had missed that he left the league last week. I guess I will need a sub.

Let me know some times (with time zone) and I can see if I am able to free up for a game.

Thanks!

I am available anywhere between 5pm and 10pm EST tonight. Let me know what works for you and we can play.

Edit: Forgot to quote, but I am talking to Yanksfan.

Dark Rider - 5pm EST work then?

I'll take the Ravens as a secondary and see if I can turn their fortunes around (or sink them further).

I'll PM Matt Young about the Ravens-Steelers matchup.

Edit - I need the commish to free up the Ravens, assuming you approve of me taking them.

5 works.

Bengals - 27
Titans - 0

Dark Rider just had some terrible luck. With rainy conditions and being down early, Locker could not accurately move the ball at all. I think a rematch would prove a much tighter game to be had.

Well Yanksfan, you killed me, but played respectfully the whole game, so good game.

BTW, I don't know what was going on with my receivers. Most of the INT's were when I would throw and my WRs wouldn't have run the correct route.

Yeah good game. I apologize for switching QBs mid drive (I know that a big rule) but Locker was doing nothing and I had no timeouts left.

Ah, I figured it was Locker not throwing accurately. That is even worse and more infuriating. If it was the QB, you could at least blame it on him being a rookie and rainy conditions. WRs consistently running wrong routes though is messed up. Sorry you were dealing with that. :(

No problem at all on switching QBs, I don't blame you in the slightest. You had to try to do something to get the offense playing better. You still ended up with a few good drives on me, if it just wasn't for the WRs ruining them in the end by not following their routes.

Well, thanks for being so supportive. I hope for a rematch in the future. Maybe then I wont throw so many endzone INTs. :)

All right, did some major clean up as we're down quite a few players right now. Tanabeo, Superstar, and silversnake5 have been MIA for a little bit, and I don't know if any of them plan on continuing. And jza1218 and DarkTower80 have dropped. I just went ahead and booted all of these players from the league that way all of their teams are open in case we need to get a sub, and I'm not available to kick them (like what happened today). HOWEVER, all booted members have a standing invite to rejoin. There was nothing personal in the booting. It was just done to make things easier on anybody who is trying to sub while I'm off snoring away somewhere.

On the topic of subs, Yanksfan has subbed for several games lately (and I'm fine with him taking the Ravens as his secondary team). I know I had discussions with blade, DVO, aft3rsh0ck, etc. earlier this season about not wanting the same player subbing all the time, but right now, we've kinda got an "all hands on deck" situation. After booting the guys I did, we're down to 13 members in the league. Even with everyone taking a 2nd team, we're still 6 teams short. We're either going to need very active subbing or some new members. I welcome both (though for new members, I still don't want Madden gods in here. That's just going to kill off the rest of us and completely put this league in the ground).

So, anybody who is available to sub, please make yourself known, and lets try to keep things running as smoothly as we can. Hopefully we'll pick up some new members and can get back to a point of strength again. Ok, I think that's it for now. If anyone has any questions/suggestions/ideas, let me know.

Update: Should have checked my PMs before posting this. silversnake5 said he's still in, just has had some trouble logging into CAG lately, but he'll be ready to play his next game. Like I said, silversnake, you're currently booted, but you've got an invite to rejoin. So, that shouldn't be a problem. Glad to have you back!

i will see wut i can do right now about finding new memeber i may have a few i dont want this league to die off ive been learning alot form this league so far and want it to continue

Good update, thanks commish. I have been subbing a lot the last few days for the reason you mentioned. I was only wanting to sub for abandoned teams, not for a team that already had an owner and it was just a scheduling conflict. I also did not have a secondary team, so thought I would help make up for some of that as well. Now I do have a secondary though, so I will have a more full plate myself.

Good to hear about silversnake, the more we all keep going, the better it will be.

Same here. This is my only online Madden experience and it has been good so far. I have learned a ton about playing and have a lot to still learn.

well if anyone needs a sub during any week just let me know would be more than glad to help keep this league alive as well as trying to find new members i think if everyone can atleast talk to one or two friends about playing in the league we could be surprised to find this league fill up quick we all just need to help out and keep this thing alive

update on superstar just read in the offical league that superstar has been MIA becuz of a personal issues should be back friday from wut i read so no worries we havent lost him he just had things he needed to deal with

St. Louis makes its case for the No. 1 Power Rankings spot by defeating Arizona 36-14 in an NFC West matchup.

The Rams defense came up big against Kevin Kolb, Larry Fitzgerald and Co. CB Ron Bartell returns a goal line interception 100 yards for a touchdown, and LE Chris Long notched a safety by sacking Kolb in the end zone.

Steven Jackson had 151 yards on the ground and 3 TDs. He also caught 6 balls for 37 yards.

For the Cards, Fitzgerald proved he is one of the league's best, snagging three balls for a staggering 124 yards and a TD. Andre Roberts also had three catches and a TD. Kolb earned a 102.4 passer rating, going 11-for-19 and 275 yards.

That INT in the end zone was the big difference in this game, because it allowed St. Louis to play its style of football.

GG Aftershock. I believe it will be another good matchup when we meet again!

I'll SUB as much as my wife and 3 month old allow just PM me and I'll do my best. I may have 2 who want to join but I have to talk them into joining CAG. Is there a list with just the available teams?

ya i can try to start subbing more as well but now that ive been back from deployment for a couple months work started picking up alot longer days more training more ranges and shit then coming home to the wife who likes to watch her shows lol. but i can do my best always feel free to send me a pm if u need a sub and i will do my best

I'm usually free to sub, but my availability is dictated by school and a retail job, haha. When break ends I tend to be just free in the evenings.

Steelers - 17
Ravens - 14

Turnovers kept this game from being anything but normal..Pittsburgh with INTs and the Ravens with fumbles. In the end, the Steelers recovered the Ravens 3rd fumble of the game and was able to keep the clock moving in the 4th to kick a winning FG as time expired.

Good game Matt. I am glad we didn't use headsets as my cursing with my players with each fumble lost kept getting worse as the game progressed. ;)

I totally agree with you. I said some pretty obscene things when I threw those picks, especially the pick six. In a game full of turnovers, I was lucky to be able to get the ball at the end. Could have easily gone either way.

It could have, though I feel I was a bit luckier to be in that position. Your third down conversion rate was phenomenal. I could not stop you passing at will on me in any of those situations. My only saving grace was being able to contain Mendenhall, so I could concentrate on having more defenders in pass coverage and probably led to getting a few of those lucky picks.

In comparison, I felt I did not convert well at all on third downs. I recall two times in the second half where my TE dropped a pass as being hit and a 3rd and 3, I was stuffed when trying to run with Rice. You did quite well in stepping up on those plays, where I could not do the same.

I'm pretty active on the "Pro" league, I geuss we would call it, but my record sucks. Put me down for the Vik's if they are still available.

Let me know

Also I love subbing so if you guys are having issues getting games in, I can help out.
