CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!

Alright I'm back home now. Cru has been playing with us for as long as I can remember so he should be used to meeting these deadlines by now. I say just sim it...Cru will bounce back easily, I don't think this loss will be too devastating for him.

We have advanced. The Bengals and Colts won the sims.

It had been exactly 10 minutes when you posted that. I got online right after. Figured I'd grab some food, and then I got a phone call. Shane, sorry I couldn't get on the headset, but that was why... spent a couple hours on the phone finalizing trip plans.

That was a really good game, but I felt like I should have won it in regulation. A couple "Madden moments" cost me dearly on points. I missed out on at least 2 surefire touchdowns, possibly 3 and then the fair catch didn't work on the fumbled kick return attempt. I had 2 wide open receivers drop passes that would have been scores, including Hester being about 10-15 yards in front of the cornerback and having a ball bounce off his head and back, LOL.

The Chargers put up the bigger numbers in the first half, but the Chiefs took advantage of 2 big interceptions which led to 14 points. KC's offense picked up greatly in the 2nd half, though, and our yardage ended up being fairly equal. Each side got 2 picks, and the Chiefs' rookie QB was damn near impossible to stop after Cassel got injured. Luckily, Cassel will only miss one game. I felt badly about herniating a disc in McCluster's back, though, especially since that injury came on a catch that would have been a first down but was overturned since I knocked him out of bounds and challenged the ruling on the field.

I couldn't get anything going in the running game after doing well with that in the 2 games yesterday. It was pretty much all passing from both teams. He also stopped me on all but one 3rd down conversion attempt.

Alright since it's the weekend, I'm gonna say Sunday night for the deadline. It isn't absolutely set in stone, I'm kind of getting a feel for things right now...we got a few new people and a good amount of people who have to schedule 2 different games. It's gonna be one of those situations where I see how many games are left by like late Sunday afternoon or something and then I'll consider postponing the deadline. But for now I'm saying Sunday night.....

And when do you wanna play BV? You wanna go ahead and get our game in now before the draft in the other league? Or just play it sometime this weekend.....I don't really know my availability for the weekend, but we can definitely get it in one night.

Yeah Matt that was a very good game but I had a few dropped wide open passes and the funny thing is was the QB that came in after casual was a 49 overall with an F potential and he was doing better then casual lol and it does suck the McMurtry has to miss seven weeks but it is whatever I have a few backups and also I have charles in the wr spot for now

Commish Bowl One featured comically bad lag, even by my standards, but does provide us a teachable moment:

When you try to get your games in earlier, it leaves you WAAAAY more time to try again if the game is a laggy mess.

Jamaal Charles was pretty much the leading receiver all 3 times we played that game, running routes up the middle, so that should work well. I did notice that you overthrew a couple open receivers like I did, but you usually made up for it and got the first downs more often than I did.

I saw how terrible your QB's rating was and that makes it much more impressive. He's a fast little bastard and raped me with those rushing yards when I defended the 4-wide sets with man coverage, which had been working well with Cassel in there. Pretty sure that same backup QB threw for 2 TDs and only 1 pick. You did quite well when dealt a shitty hand there.

Lopsided game... Raiders forced 8 turnovers:

A D-Bowe fumble, T. Branch, M. Huff had 2 INTs each, M. Williams, R. Brown, and K. Jackson each got 1 INT.

Heyward-Bey caught 3 catches for 124 and 2 TDs, Zach Miller had a TD, and Chaz Schilens caught one.

The Chiefs did a remarkable job containing Cedric Benson and the rookie Jake Carver on the ground. Together they mustered 86 yards on 16 carries. Brandon Carr managed to get a pick on a HORRIBLE decision to throw the ball by Carson Palmer(me:D), but Mario Williams wanted to get off the field so he went and got an interception on the very next play. For anyone counting, that's 2 INTS for Mario Williams in 2 seasons. GG Shane

on a sad note, Rolando McClain will miss 1 week due to an upper arm fracture. He joins Kamerion Wimbley(out for 10 weeks) on the injured list, leaving my LB corps looking rather shaky...

I'm pretty sure 1 week = the week we're currently in. Once it advances he should be healthy, at least that's how it works in the offline franchise.

Anyone know the Patriots guy? I just PM'ed him today, so he hasn't kept me waiting or anything, but his profile says he hasn't signed on to CAG since 3 days ago and his XBL profile doesn't list his last online time. I have a couple hours before I leave tonight, though I could play after returning home from the hockey game this evening. Tomorrow, I'll be traveling pretty much all day. I can play Sunday, but I don't know how often I'll be able to check XBL messages. I will check CAG once a day at least.
 
MA - Seems like someone didn't want us playing this tonight, lol. I felt like during a lot of those attempts I should have been playing Yakety Sax on a loop. I've never seen a more bizarre collection of weird crap and lag, my favorite was Julius Peppers getting an interception off his shoestrings on a ball he had no business touching and taking it like 70 yards to the house. We'll try later.
 
I did not hear back from the Patriots owner today, but I should be able to check the thread/PM's tomorrow evening even though I doubt I can play tomorrow. Hopefully he will get back to me so we can play by Sunday. Flight leaves in 7 hours, and it's raining like crazy here.

And just so people don't think me and BV are being hypocrites......we literally tried to play our game 5 or 6 times over the past 2 days but all have resulted in disconnects. We might have to sim ours, but we're gonna try again at some point today.

Doom, will you have a chance to play your game later tonight before we advance? Or do you need a sub right away if you're gonna be busy later...I was thinking we can give your opponent a little longer to respond.
 
i'm one of doom's opponents (saints vs jags).... sent doom a message a bit ago. I can play anytime between now and the deadline.
 
I'm able to play now fero. Going to be a no mic game for me though because there are people over watching a movie and I wouldn't be able to hear you. As for my Bucs game, I should be around. Hope he responds by then.

GG fero, a lot of stuff you couldn't control when it came to Bush. A lot of speed on this Jags team. Garrard and the air attack leads them to a 72-38 victory.

WHY EA...WHY do you let defensive players get 9 years into the backfield on Play action plays?

6 Sacks. 5 of those on play action plays...wide open receivers....can't raise the ball past my hip to throw the ball...guy's already wrapping him up, lol.

True. Only one of those sacks was an all out blitz. The rest of them were just zone coverage. I wish they would fix it, that used to be my gameplan.
