You know you dont have to hold the button anymore right? Just push it once and you have 10 sec to talk. I preferred the button holding personally. It also has voice detection so if u dont talk instantly after pushing the button or talk too quietly, or have to think for a sec in the middle of talking..itll cut you off :(

Maybe, but in CTF or any team-based game your team plays better when they can communicate. I can't stand when we're on Warfare and trying to organize for defense/offense and the guys with no headsets just run off to do whatever the hell it is they think is a good idea to do without consulting the team :bomb:

Not to mention, it's what makes CAG nights better than random games. Communicating in-game kind of helps you get to know who you're playing with, which makes for a better game as time passes.

The recent patch and titan pack has me interested in UT3 again. (EPIC is awesome for still supporting the game!) As far as the game nights go, would I need to get ALL the mods listed in the OP (which doesn't seem to have been updated for a while). And the official community mods as well?

as for all the maps in the OP no. maybe all the dated ones, but it's currently being reviewed once I get a moment from this SHAQFU crazy job I have (so this weekend). My recommendation would to at least get the CBP3 map packs from the mod browser.

I've had a headset,but just recently started using it. I wouldn't mind getting a better one. You going to join us monday night Hone? :)

hopefully, depends when I get out of work. I've worked past 8:30 PM (CST) before. If I get home @ 7sh I'll host.
 
do people want to play either greed or betrayal from the titan update tomorrow? I would say have the 2 CBP packs as well has the +2 dm maps on there worm and something else.
 
I'm up for Greed. I'm really enjoying that mode. Plus the fact that Greed works on the CBP packs and any deathmatch, CTF, VCTF will keep Greed going strong.
 
Monday BUMP for UT3 night!

I'm down for the new modes. What little I played of Greed was fun, an interesting balance between deathmatch and base-rushing to score or steal the flag.
 
Lets all get GREEDY today. Just add the Titan, the PCSpeedX mutator and the 1x health and away we go!
 
I hate to complain after getting a ton of free updates, but I would still like to be able to play more than one mode a night without having to abandon my party and start over. Epic, are you listening?

That said, I'll be there tonight!

You ungreatful he bitch! But seriously, that would really mess up the voting. Can you imagine going from TDM to CTF and then voting for maps every round? It's not something that's very pretty. If anyone wants to practice right now, I left my server open. It'll be a dedicated server while I"m in class from now till 2:30 pm pacific so anyone can join and use it as they wish.

Nah you wouldnt have to vote every round. Id say swapping a gametype would be a host decision. They could just add a tab to the hosts ingame menu to select the next gametype and maps. The host can do that while they are dead so they arent giving away free points while they are doin it :p
 
I was hoping one of you guys might know something about this. My copy UT3 when started says I need to update it's firmware (not the PS3, the game's). When I click OK, it goes to the downloading screen, sits there for about 10 seconds and then restarts the PS3 with nothing downloaded. This ever happen to anyone?
 
Hmm, not bad. I come home and see a nice 6v6 game going on. I'm glad to actually see people playing the game, and surprisingly, it was a lot of new faces with only a few friends that I recognized. Anyone in CAG try it? I'd like to get some comparing when doing listen vs dedicated.
 
I had this game when it first came out but always and I mean always got disconnected or signed out of PSN whenever I tried to get in an online game. This was the only game I had the problem with so I traded it. I would like to pick it up again if I can actually get some online games in without being disconnected. Was online connectivity addressed in the update? Oh and have fun guys.
 
Pretty sure it was. Though every once in a while it says I'm not on PSN when playing when I clearly am. The solution is to log off through XMB and then log back in. It usually clears it up. Or it may have something to do with your port forwarding.

Hmmm the mod browser has been updated again with two more maps. Flabbergasting.

I was actually hosting a server from 10 am to about 3 pm today. Then I went to get some mods, and now I just forgot to log out of the game LOL.

Today's UT3 will be GREED. IT DEMANDS TO BE PLAYED!

And why is it when I make a dedicated custom server for other people to play on, they keep using the damn standard maps? There's CBP vol 1 and 2, the Titan pack, yet they stick to Reflection, Coret, Facing World and Searchlight.

you don't have to worry about mutators. They're automatically downloaded from the person hosting the game. It's only maps you have to worry about.

Okay, so let me explain in detail what has happened when trying to join you guys tonight.
For the record, I already have all the maps downloaded and installed onto my system, now in attempting to join you guys, I keep getting signed out whenever I try to find the server, or just follow a friend in the server. And everytime I see the actual server and try to join that, I keep getting this error that says I'm unable to join, or that the game my be full (which is bull, because it wasn't full when I tried to join). After the error, I get signed out again. Rinse and Repeat.
I did get to the part where I had to enter a password (It's 'cag', right?), and even then I get that error, and the eventual sign-out procedure... Am I doing something wrong? I wanted to get greedy with you guys... :cry:

Sorry I couldn't make it tonight, just know that I tried for half an hour to join you guys. :(
 
I had an issue where every new game it'd say I didn't have 'insert random map name' installed and boot me out. Several tries later I'd get in, but got too annoying in the end.
 
Did you get the Titan Pack from the store freaky? I really can't think of any reason why that wold happen to you. Me and rotaxio had trouble last week, but we're both able to get in now - and it never signed us out when we couldn't connect.

SB, did you get the new versions of CBP from the mod browser? That might be why.
 
good game guys, I tried my mic, but had no luck, I could see a little mic show up when I pushed to the right, but when I talked and asked if people could hear me no one responded...i could hear you all though...hopefully I'll figure it out by next week...later
 
That was a crazy good time. Greed is good. Greed works.

Too bad about freeky's and brit's connection issues.

I think Freaky needs to set up his router, because I asked him what NAT was he using and he said he had no idea. The best thing for the PS3 is to put it in DMZ mode. That's what fixed last weeks issues.

Yup, last week I got rid of all the old stuff and redownloaded all the browser stuff. It's odd to say the least.

Yeah, I downloaded and installed it this weekend, and it's weird why I kept getting these connections issues. It probably has to do with the fact that maybe I have the old CBP maps installed, so I probably need to reinstall them via the Mod Browser in-game. :/
 
Too bad I couldn't make it tonight. Had family from out of town coming over, but I swear one of these days I'm gonna make it happen.

I downloaded the files from the first post long ago, just not from the Mod Browser, but yeah I'll do that sometime tomorrow.
 
oh well hone is not admining very well anymore so that hasnt been updated in a while. all CBPs should be d/led from the browser. the other maps should be ok tho
 
yea last night was real fun, senior_lulz should host a gamer night on fridays when more people are free to play and we could play longer because its basicly the weekend
 
The Juggernaut is entertaining but I wouldn't want it to be a permanent option in-game.

I'm quite pleased with the number of people who showed up last night, I don't remember the last time we had that many on a closed game!

As long as it didn't take the place of Mondays. I prefer them on Monday because I'm not free on Friday nights, I'm usually out doing things with friends or my girlfriend.

Monday really isn't the best night for unreal to me,but I think If it was switched to Friday it would be even worse for most people. I do think we should have it twice a week. Like Monday is the main thing. Then Thursday or whatever for a extra day of unreal. Greed is fun although I prefer the maps that aren't VCTF style ones. I wish Hone would come back. I assume he is still busy with work. He is way to good at this game not to be here. :(
 
Fridays and Saturdays aren't good for me either...Monday is still the best day for me also...I would be interested in Thursdays, so there is some kind of break between games.

There is only 2 things about monday night I hate, and one won't last forever. 1. It is cheap day at my video game rental store, and 2. WWE Monday Night Raw is on.

There isn't many more good games coming out I want, and Raw hasn't been good in a long time. *puts on flame suit* :lol:
