i bought a response trigger for my tippman 98, and decided to see if it would work on my xbox controller, and it does, so i have that on, and double tap some times....man, its beastly with those LMG's.

hello... some of you might remember me, as chase has invited me in a few times...so i finally registered and looked for the first cod4 thread i could find... :)

i'm working through my 2nd level of prestige, and I find that i switch styles each time.. like now i'm favoring the heavy weapons more than assault... and more than sniper the last time through.

i'm having a hard time with the chinatown map... i get my butt kicked everytime on that map... :(

i'm new at CAG here too.

chinatown is great, i just stick with either my RPD on that or M16, try staying on that turret, in the grassy plane, especially when playing domination and the other team is trying to capture B, its a good strategy, just make sure the guy, in the other turret across from you is dead before he kills you :whistle2:#

Chase, on point with that one. We once got everyone in a TDM to run around with only pistols on district (i think?). By far one of the more fun matches I've played, everyone was real cool with it and just laughed the whole time when you would get shot about 100 meters away with a pistol.

Although, a pistol match with people who have controller mods, not happening, thats just bs.

Made this for the COD4 regulars. The animated GIF lost some quality, and I tried to tweak the settings, but ImageReady's being a bastard. :bomb:

Thats complete awesome right there chase. I especially like the part where I'm still referred to as hamster. Changing my gamertag was the worst $10 I've ever spent. :wall:

I'm torn as to who has the best one... I really like Criminal's as it sums up his name well, along with JQA's. Khondor and bombs (or claymores) is a great reference. Burp's just made me laugh.
 
trying to get to the top 1,000 in the kill leaderboards before gta IV, so i should be on a ton if anyone wants to add me. i am going to let my win ratio slip to do this probably, but i have to average close to 2,000 kills a day for the next 7 days to do it... at the moment, i am about 10,000 kills away from it, but assuming others move up at least a couple hundered kills a day, i have to get more than 10,000 now.

Bahaha... Hamster has such a great ring to it. It's poetic, and manly, and stuffs. :D;)

Oh man, I enjoyed making these, and with Khondor, I just knew I had to go with explosives. It was a given, like eating Churros at Disneyland. :mrgreen:

I also really like DC's.

Though, of course, I like them all. They're all like non-redheaded bastard stepchildren. :whistle2:$
 
I am thinking of switching from cod4 ps3 to 360 since I just got my 360 today. I might trade in the ps3 version and try to get cod4 for 360 tomorrow with the 25% off used 360 games. So add me if you want, I have no friends. I think I'll have the game tomorrow.
Is the reg version cheaper now since the goty edition came out?

Also my headset seems to suck, its a new one from the halo 3 edition 360. People have complained about it on xbl and even when I turn the switch to off. It makes noise when I'm not actually talking at all, so maybe its defective or maybe it is broken, idk.

i played it on both systems and prefer it a ton more on the 360 (my sisters boyfriend has it on ps3). there is no teamwork on the ps3 (lack of mics... good and bad) and i noticed bullet lag in every room i was in pretty much when i compared it to the 360. not to say that there isn't lag on the 360 when it picks a bad host, but more often than not the rooms run fine.

Yeah, I've played the 360 version and prefer it, partly due to the controller. I don't really like using a mic online, but if everyone is using one I guess I'll join in. I'm just new to xbl and I never used a mic on the ps3 so it feels sort of weird. Also how does gamestop handle returns. Lets say I got a used game from there a few days ago, can I just return it no questions asked or what?

if, and when i get on, is usually when i finish my home work. it mostly is from like 7pm and then up till 11pm. on friday nights when i'm not working, and don't have plans the next day...i usually am up much later. but i'm working 18 hours this weekend, and have a school fund raiser on saturday >.

even if you don't talk much, using a mic in a teamwork based game is the best thing to do. you will find yourself muting tons of people (part of the bad i was talking about), but in all honesty it is great to be able to talk to teammates. if you can find a group of players that doesn't run their mouth the whole game about nonsense, try and stick with it if you want to win. most of my losses came from a lack of communication whether it was from everyone talking too much to where we couldn't call out enemies or my teammates didn't talk at all (say a guy camping behind a wall with a silencer and uav jammer that could be killed if you know where they are). while i do know that most people play games for fun, i personally don't have fun when i am losing.

as for the gamestop return, you will need a receipt and i think their policy (unless it has changed) was a 7 day full refund, 90 defective on used games, though i could be wrong since it has been about 3 years since i have bought a game used.

I can see the use of talking, but I wouldn't really talk if I just joined a room randomly with strangers. But in a party, with cags or otherwise, I think I would talk since you'd be playing with them for more than a game or two.
 
even when playing with randoms teamwork is very important or you will end up getting spawn camped. it is a lot different than the ps3 with this, it isn't a one out of every 30 people uses a mic, it is more of a 1 in every 30 doesn't use a mic. if you end up against a good team while you are with randoms, i have almost no doubt that they will push your team around easy with a lack of communication. my team has done it to clans, so just imagine what we can do to randoms (i think the worst we beat someone in team deathmatch was 750-40), we just pushed them back into the corner and kept them there the rest of the game. if they had been talking some, they would have at least had a chance to get to 200, even on that lopsided map (bog). don't get me wrong with this, i barely talk to the randoms in the room, but if i see someone heading after one of my team i will call them out or if i see where someone is camping, i will call them out so they don't kill someone from that spot.

Thats just the thing. I feel that when I've opened my mouth on online games in the past I do more harm than good. I know the maps pretty well, but what I dont know is what other people call that one building. Thats what I call t, that one building by the brown one. idl, maybe after a while I'll catch on, but right now my mic seems to be messed. Maybe its just because its the one that came with the 360 and sucks. Should I get a new one, a better one. What do most people do?

On mine, whenever you move the part that conencts to the controller there is a crackling static sound that comes through the earpiece and also in the game. It always says I'm talking when I'm not.

While a lot more people play on Thursday, parts of the CAG COD4 core pretty much play on a daily basis. For instance, I'll be online this afternoon/evening. ;)

Those are great, Chase. I like that you were able to find a picture of a ninja in a pool. The Shawnimal is cool, too.

We're having FiOS installed today, so I was busy all last night cleaning and getting things out of the way for the installation. I should be able to pop on for a bit tonight, but I'm pretty tired from last night, so I'm going to try not to stay on too late. We all know how that goes, though ;)

Haha, you're going to get a good lead on me this week if you even just play at all. I'm not going to have a chance to even think about getting on tonight until around 3:00am. I've got to hop off of here and watch 3:10 to Yuma, start writing a paper on it, and then drop everything and watch the Suns/Spurs game, afterwards I'll finish the paper and work on whatever else I can stand to in order to catch up. I've only got two days of class left though, so soon enough I'll be free.

...but then GTA IV will be out.

I have the regular edition pre-ordered at my local Blockbuster (with Store Credit) and will be online day one. Only thing is I'm trying to decide if I want to switch it to the Collector's Edition but my local store stated they weren't getting any of them so I'm going to check to see if it change since I pre-ordered.
