Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Gen. Discussion & Info

looks like the primary concern that 1up had in multiplayer is fleshing out. The side that is in the lead gets further advantages (air strikes/chopper) which only makes matters worse for the losing side.
 
fucking damnit. I used a 48 hour code as well, hoping it'd still work. I ordered a years worth of live via a card, and still haven't received it yet.

I would of just paid for one fucking month if I had knew, have fun CAGS. :cry:

Edit: Looks like it's in waves, so maybe somehow Zoglog and I didn't make that wave. Unless they just threw my entry out ASAP. I'll order a month of LIVE now just in case.
 
Woke up to mine this morning. Will probably download it this week at some point, but things are NUTS here (move-in started today).
 
Word is now that if you signed up in the 24 hours that it was up you WILL get in. I just checked my email and I got in. Bad thing is I'm downloading an update for the ps3 but when it is done on to the 360. Then owned or pwned however it is said on the internet by a 12 year old.
 
Whoo hoo, just got my email! Can't wait to get home and download it. I'll see you guys on there tonight!
 
Where did all those people bitching about "fuck this", "why did they fucking do it like this" go? Oh wait they got invite.

I thought the game was amazing in the first few hours. It has gotten worse to play as more people were invited. Team deathmatch is fun, deathmatch is worthless, small team objective is alright but is silly when the "large" team objective is not many more people. Im not even at the rank cap yet and am bored. My big problem is with the effective range the weapons have there cannot be any wide open huge maps, which I love to see in FPS. The whole COD franchise always felt too "technique-less" FPS for me, at first play this seemed different but after awhile it was apparent to me.
 
I just experienced my first game with lag yesterday after 4-5 hours of total play. I can now see why everyone is complaining. It actually happened to me twice in a row which sucked.
 
Just played my first match.

Not bad. They need to tighten up the graphics a little bit (and the controls, for that matter).

Not sure if I'm a fan of the leveling up. Rainbow Six: Vegas was fun, but even that I didn't care for the PEC mode (would have been fine without it).

I haven't found any riddiculous easy ways to play the game, yet. Hell, haven't even figured out what the objectives are.
 
all I know is I get my ass handed to me in this game ;). But then again I never played the COD series online ever. It's definetly a different play style than other games i've played (especially halo). I've always enjoyed the COD series single player though. But yeah so far it's nothing too special but it's interesting learning the knacks.
 
I don't think this game is too hard at all. I've only played COD 2 SP prior to this and I'm doing pretty well. I like the lvl'ing up because it lets you see your progress and it makes it seem like your time spent is being paid off.

I've put about 2-3 hours so far and the last two matches I was in were unplayable. When there's no lag though it's awesome!!
 
Out of all that I have played I only like the team deathmatch. Also is it me or does it seem like people can shoot through walls and every thing is a sniper rifle. I hope my pc can run the game if not might have to do some upgrading it. I really do not like the controls of the game. Hope they are better on the PC then Bioshocks were. Bioshocks felt like it was just ported over to the PC from the 360.
 
I've had no lag, game is awesome.

I already hit the level 11 cap in less than 2 hours though. :cry:

sendme - you can shoot through the walls, the game tells you so during one of the loading screens.
 
Buncha shit I got nothing yet.... oh well hopefully i'll have it by the long weekend coming up. I've still gotta finish Bioshock and buying Puzzle Fighter so it's all good. :D

edit: just looked up completed listing and 15 have been sold for $20-40 each. Mostly around 20-25... I wont pay that much for a beta!
 
Well at least I am not alone in this wishing I had a key and feeling hosed considering how long I've been supporting this game.
 
Is something wrong with the sites email confirmation? I signed up for an account but every time I click send confirmation it has an error.
 
Wow this Beta is off the hook. I have been playing COD3 online since it's release and O man this is soooo much better. I'll never go back to COD3 ever :D
 
I don't even like military games, but this one has a possibility of pulling me in. I'm in no hurry to play since I already have a ton of other crap to do as well.
 
Anyone having issues getting a game started? I tried starting one today and got stuck at the "Loading Game Settings" screen...I haven't played since they opened up the beta so it might be taking longer but I was at that screen for 2min and quit.

When you get that screen you need to turn off your xbox and then turn it back on. That screen will never go away. Some people have reported having to delete the beta and reinstall it.
Might also want to make sure you dont have a disc in the drive. That fixed it for me.
