Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Gen. Discussion & Info

Watch youtube videos and keep practicing. The key is to toss lots of flashbangs, keep moving forward, and get lucky.

I found it very frustrating, but keep at it and you will sky dive to safety.
 
It took me about four hours split up over two days. After the first hour of frusteration I checked out the NextGen youtube video which was helpful and then I came across this video where a guy does the entire level with flashbangs I found it very helpful.

Don't try and kill everyone. You basically have to have faith that if you run past someone that your team will take them out as they advance.

It took me about 4 hours of trying overall. I got frustrated a lot because I didn't think I had enough time with 3 seconds before the last door. I didn't realize the game used a "bullet-time" mode to finish it all up.

As it's already been said, it's very satisfying, as is 1000/1000. I believe I personally shouted "fuck Yeah!" when I finished mine up. Keep trying.

Dude, that part is one of the easiest firefight parts of the whole level. I beat it in one try.

Unfortunately I didn't finish the game on Veteran because I had to return it. Maybe some day I'll buy it again.
 
Took me about 4 hours as well one day. Then the i got so fed up i just went for a smoke break and tried to get it out of my mind. Next day I came back to it with high hopes and trying to formulate a plan (watching videos, reading suggestions) And I did it withing 2 hours. It takes alot of Finese and planning. But watch some videos and you will be able to get through it. I also said "fuck YEAH!" Once i beat. Really is satisfying!
 
I think I will go back and play through to get the rest of the achievements and then save this one for later. Thanks for all the good suggestions.

Edit: Just started to play multiplayer and it is as good as everyone says so far. Leveling up is pretty cool.
 
i just beat veteran yesterday and that was satisfying enough for me to say fuck yeah. tried this level 20 or so times and didnt even come close to beating it. i plan on watching youtube and formulating a plan of attack.
 
i cant figure out how to secure the southern section of the bog on "the bog"
ive killed everybody in the area except for those in the building which you have to plant the ir beacon to kill. can anybody help me out with that?

also, do you have to complete all objectives to get the achievements for each level?
 
Just have to beat the level, but I don't think there's anyway to get through a level without doing all the objectives.

I don't remember having any problems with that part of the BOG. Just plant the beacon, wait for the helicopter to come and wipe out the enemies.

Then head back to the tank in the middle after it tells you to do so.

yea ive beat the mission three times from the beginning on veteran and havent got the war pig and bog on hardened or veteran achievement. i noticed i didnt complete the secure the southern section of the bog objective and figured that was why.

Are you playing on Veteran or Hardened?

You have to play on Veteran to get the achievements for beat levels. There aren't any level achievements for hardened.

The only hardened achievement is for beating the game on hardened or veteran.

That's odd. That probably is it then. I didn't know you could beat a level without doing all the objectives. I didn't think the next goal would pop up.

We were playing Headquarters, and our team was losing by 60 points (not too much) so I said "Hey team, lets try a new approach: teamwork!"

I was promptly told that I should:

"Eat cock, queer."
"Eat cock, $$$$er."
"Eat cock, mexican."
"Eat cock, arab."
"I fucked your mom."
"Im'a hack your IP."

"FOOL, quit this game you suck!"

I followed this one and said "How do I suck? I am leading the team, I have 37 kills, and 18 deaths."

This was led up with:

"Eat my cock."

Alright, at this point I am wondering, what did I do to push these guys off their rocker? Sure, there is a bit of trash talk in every XBL game, but this one was a new experience.

What was astonishing was that one guy actually was trying to rally up our teammates to file a complaint on ME and say that I hacked their systems. I laughed since 2-3 complaints probably wouldn't do anything, but it was definitely an XBL first for me.

If this game didn't have better gameplay than Halo, the community would have killed this game.

The other day I was playing search and destroy (no respawns), and I was the last man standing against 5 others (so the game started as a 6v6, and now was a 5v1). I picked up the bomb, and as I was being chased by two guys towards a bomb site, I spun around, shot and killed one of them, and proceeded to back into a claymore while in a firefight with the other.

"Wow way to watch where you're going fag."

Ya, I would have if the rest of you weren't dead.

Most of the time I just leave my headset off, and have my volume so I can kinda hear what's going on through the TV. But if I'm playing with CAGs I always go on mic.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome. Is it just me or do all team deathmatch rounds always have 1 or 2 players who just dominate and all the others just get ridiculous kds like 2-12 and 5-13. I don't think I've ever seen a balanced team where everyone does well, and that's including clans I've played against.

wow, i dunno what you do or who you play with but i havent heard anything like that. ive had a pretty good experience with the community.
it seems like you have a lot of issues with people online, from your posts hre
 
I've ran into some of those types of comments, but never a whole team worth.

I have worse luck getting into games with a couple of kids (12-13 year old, pre-pubescent voices) who obviously know each other and keep bickering back and forth how much the other one sucks the whole match.

Negative, Counter-Strike had all sorts of douche bags when that was the hit back in the day.

It's sad, but I usually keep my headset off as well. Unless I'm playing with people I know.
 
Yeah, there's a challenge for it even.

Hard to do by yourself though. I've been trying for a while. Seems like it takes two hits from RPG to take it down.

The RPG is the most effective, but it's pretty difficult to hit the chopper (I'm terrible at it.) You can also use just a machine gun and start firing at it which does some damage but will take a while for it to go down (and it'll kill you before you succeed.)

See, normally I would blame it on my self, but this time I did nothing of the sort because my younger brother was in the room...

I also went in to headquarters alone, no party, so that maybe why.

It takes two hits, but I don't think its two full hits. I think you can RPG it, and then assault rifle it for 2 seconds and it will go down.
 
Yeah. Light Machine guns do best, but RPGs(2 hits, sometimes hard to hit) and turrets(very few, but you need it to get in range) work well. All guns do damage to it, but the LMG power + clip will do it. One full LMG clip + stopping power = doom. Of course, you can be shot while shooting at the chopper, so try to get someone to cover you.

I think it's more than that. I've always found it to be:
-2 Full hits
-1 hit, a mag and a half from an AR
-1 hit, nearly a full mag from a LMG (depending on your accuracy).

I don't generally use stopping power, so that may make a big difference.
 
to me i love being able to hide from the UAV so i love the UAV perk that hides you from the radar, so many times i have been in that i was all alone and enemy uavs are on and there are like 5 guys in my area and i can just hide and wait for them to pass then come up behind them and pour a little ownage on them
