Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Gen. Discussion & Info

HA! Newest member of the Mile High Club, beat it on my tenth run through...i would have gotten it on the second if i didnt shoot the hostage.

Just wondering if anyone else noticied which it might have been mentioned but if you use "Overkill" with grenade launcher on the G3, M4, & M16 & use a second assault rifle (preferably the G36C for me) those three will hold an extra 3rd round instead of the usual x2.

It takes one grenade round from your second AR to fully load the first AR. The second AR will only have one round but it's nice to have three in one gun. I posted this on CharlieOscarDelta.com last week just thought I'd mention it.

HEY IDIOT. I KNOW HIM IN REAL LIFE.

Never assume anything. That shit can get ya killed in real life. Word of advice.
I hope that last part is a joke.
Brak, this is dat street advice.
Just turn away.
Street advice from a white baby?

Yeah. Sesame Street.

The main problems with Gears online is that its not well balanced, and that means its not very noob friendly. Its no fun to get raped the moment you step into a game for the first few times.

Try Halo3, or CoD4 which are both much better balanced and varied multiplayer experiences. Of course there will be some douchbags there too, they seem to be everywhere these days. But the gameplay is much better, and more noob friendly.

I find the best way to shut up a griefer is with a grenade to the mouth.

Hehe, what the "You can get killed in real life son," part? I took that directly from his quote, telling him to follow his own advice.

Anywho, I am sorry Pimpinc333, I was wrong for calling you an idiot. :D
help1, what are you talking about? I dont know you in real life, and frankly, im glad i dont
Hahaha, are you serious?

Wow, Safehouse on Veteran was a fucking joke. I can't believe I beat it. I'm sure the worst is yet to come, but goddamn.

The war room and one shot one kill are the worst.

Heat, One Shot One Kill, and No Fighting in the War Room will tear you apart mentally and emotionally.

You'll be crying tears of pain after cutting yourself and destroying your 360, TV, etc.

:whistle2:( Good luck.

If it's as bad (well at least for me) as D-Day on Veteran in CoD2, I'll go insane probably :\

I haven't played any of those missions but I should be in for a treat it looks like -_-
I just beat the war room. Took my almost two hours. :bomb:

One Shot, One Kill wasn't so bad, up until the end, which sucked dick.
Damn.

I saw you playing that before I left for work.
Damn.

If I were you, when I got to that mission, I'd fashion a wristband for the 360 controller so that it won't break and so it won't break anything (
like your TV :whistle2:#
) when you inevitably throw it. ;)

War room is hard. I found it helpful to run through that level as fast as possible. If you can get into a room before the enemies get into position, it makes it a lot easier than trying to move slowly through the level. Also, its good practice for mile high club, which is absolute insanity. Also, keep a shotgun on you.

im getting cod4 when im done with my finals, but is it worth playing on harden or normal the first time through. a lot of people complain about the difficulty.

Depends on your level of patience, I played on Veteran the first time around, Knocks all the achievements away as you play and its challenging as fuck!

Most of the levels you could get through in no time, but a few mentioned levels will be the most hardest level in a game you've ever played. Its smart to always have a strategy when on those missions, you will die litterally MILLIONS of times until you either get lucky or your strategy pays off...Cover is your friend and Flashbangs are a godsend, two shots or one well placed shot on veteran is enough to end it all for you. The Dragunov sniper is a must have for those levels where your outnumbered and need to pick off a few from a distance and run for cover, be smart and dont run around like a chicken with your dick blown off. Listen to your teamates and stick with them when you have them...They will not let you down, they are really helpful in those hot situations...gives your enemies more to shoot at than just you...Your friendly AI isnt the smartest but it works, The enemy AI in Veteran is extremely tactical they will flank, outnumber and throw grenades like nothing, and you will die...

Good luck, in the end Trust me the whole experience is worth it, its one of the best single player experiences ive ever played.

I hope your finals aren"t in english..

If you're a fps fan (I see you've been playing orange box) you should be fine on hardened. I've been talking to a lot of avid fps fans though, and veteran is just too much for them

Hmmm... Didn't know chicken had dicks. Learn something new every day.
hahah, good thing im a graphic design major...

and just to clarify, harden is the name of that difficulty.
It's actually "Hardened"

Thats why they call em cocks...At least thats what my 8 year old cousin says

Mile High Club on veteran has a huge luck component. You need the game to sync up perfectly with what you are doing so you make it through alive. Hard as all fuck to do!
Mile high club on veteran is fuck 'ing hard
I tried for 3 hours straight and still didn't beat it. I can get within a few steps of the vip door but I run out of time. :(

For anyone that has beaten it, will I have to restart the whole mission if I accidentally shoot the vip?
For anyone that has beaten it, will I have to restart the whole mission if I accidentally shoot the vip?
Yes, if you are seriously having trouble with it. Youtube it and you can see how other people did it.
Yes! YES! I finally got the "Mile High Club" achievement! I used a Youtube video to help me, and after only about 45 minutes, I successfully did it.

Now all I need are the 2 intel achievements, and the veteran ones, and I'm all set.
Jealous... after trying for like the 100th time, I just freaking gave up. I don't know a good strat after getting up those steps. I manage to get there though, with 30-35 seconds left, but then I get demolished.
The shitty AI of your squad members really shines on Mile High Club.:bomb:
Once you get upstairs you really don't shoot your gun too much. Toss Flash Bangs into the far rooms and keeping moving forward. There are 3 more flash bangs sitting on a counter if you need them in the 2 room upstairs. You squad will actually move and take out enemies pretty fast upstairs but the key is you need to be the leader and keep moving.

I'd always run out before I got too far upstairs.

I always end up getting stuck and spending some 10 seconds in the first upstairs room. =/
I've almost got it though.

Well, I beat it on Veteran today. I still say Safehouse was the hardest. The enemies just kept respawning and there was so fucking many of them that it just dumb luck that you happened to get to the house without dying. I think I had an easier time with the last few levels just because it seemed like there were less enemies and once they were dead, that was it, there was no respawning.

Now to beat Mile High Club.

I beat it on Recruit today. (Don't laugh - I figured why not do it on the easiest and then on the hardest :p) I loved it. This is the first Shooter I could say I wanted to beat (It may be the first I've actually beaten). I'm going to try some of the easier levels on Veteran, and depending on how I do will decide whether or not I beat the rest on Veteran. Multiplayer still is awesome though :p

I just had the BEST 'First' match ever!!! lol

I just used Prestige mode to reset myself to level 1. I went into a team deathmatch game with the default smg class with the MP5.

I get in there and kill a few people, get killed a couple times. Then I respawn again and start going nuts! I start smoking people with my ironsight mp5. I throw my grenade and get 2 kills with it. I get a UAV, then an Airstrike, then a Helicopter.

My Helo shows up and gets me to a ten kill streak. I run outta bullets for the mp5, but I find a huge LMG lying in the street, the one you dont unlock till a way high level.

I see on my radar that nearly the entire enemy team is hiding in one room from my Helo. I use the LMG to shoot thru the walls and kill half the enemy team as they hide. I get to a 15 kill streak.

Now my LMG is running low on Ammo, I see the message 'Press X to pickup Gold Desert Eagle! I grab it off the ground and smoke a couple more people with the Gold Deagle before getting killed.

I ended up the match 20-something and 4. And I got from level 1, all the way to level 4, and I was ONE POINT away from making level 5! I pretty much singlehandedly won the game for my team, including getting the last kill to win the match.

Also, if challenges had actually been unlocked, I could have racked up a few hundred extra points just on those, but you dont get those till level 5.

Anyway, that was easily the best level 1 game Ive ever played! :D
Second Prestige already? You whore! How do you find the time to play?
Heh, Im unemployed right now.

Monster.com takes up about 30 minutes of my day and then Im free to play CoD as much as I want.

I should note that I am soo addicted to this game that Ive stopped playing nearly everything else. My DS sits there, Im not playing Firepro at all, and Ive barely touched SM Galaxy since I got it. All my gaming time goes into CoD.
Second Prestige already? You whore! How do you find the time to play?
I'll be at the beginning of my second level of Prestige in a couple of days because I'm at Level 47 of my first one as we speak. I normally play a couple hours a day during the week put I have played for hours on end on the weekends. I have almost 3 days played.

You guys would rock at World of Warcraft.

I've been pulled away from CoD4 by other games. Dirt arrived today and is one of the best impulse game buys in recent memory. Firepro Returns is a blast and I've fallen back into Oblivion in a big way.

Woah, I was under the impression that there were only 5 prestige modes for some reason.

prestigeiconscf5.jpg

I'm glad because the icon for level 5 prestige looks hideous enough to make me bypass the whole thing.

I actually just spent the last couple of hours setting up a gamesave for the US Firepro to mimmick my Japanese save. It involved lots of MAX drive transferring and some PS2 save builder JPN to US conversion.

But after Heroes and Football I think Im gonna dive back into CoD. :D
