Call of Duty Black OPS
Either KMart or TRU. TRU gives you a $20 GC with purchase of any game $59.99 and up and a $50 GC for 2 games $59.99 and up.

KMart gives you $25 GC I think? I'm not sure how their points stuff work.
Best deal in the Midwest is NFM. $30 gift card (for all) and a free camo headset (for the 1st 100) Omaha, Kansas City and Des Moines. Deal is only in store as far as I can tell.

I got my shipping confrimation earlier today and is shipping from Las Vegas. Too bad I have to wait until 8:30 pm tomorrow to actually play it. Stupid work!
Just saw this on the Destructoid stream chat:

 • djenerationt: The kids at the midnight launch didn't know who JFK was.
 • djenerationt: They were playing zombies and saying 'this character sounds like mayor quimby'
That is REALLY f*****g sad. Don't know who one of the most iconic presidents is but they know who Mayor Quimby is?
Bahahaha, not surprising at all.
Why does everyone I see online who got it early, have the PS3 version? wtf? coincidence? idk
Well, there were some guys who robbed a delivery of a bunch of Black Ops and consoles, wonder if it was a PS3 shipment???:D

I didn't know they stole the consoles too?

I just talked to an Amazon CSR (my status is still 'Shipping Soon') -- He couldn't give me my tracking number, but he told me it was "loaded onto a truck". Bah. I guess I'll have to go a night without viciously refreshing a tracking website.

Oh, and Combat Training requires you to be both connected to the internet, and have Gold. What a croc for the people who wanted to use it otherwise.

Edit: Oh what the fuuuu. RIGHT after I end the convo, it changes to 'SHIPPED'. I call shenanigans! I was kinda hoping for FedEx, but it's coming UPS. Oh well.

Mines showing as shipped now as well, I'm tempted to pull a Zoidberg and see if I can pick it up at the UPS center but with my luck I'll miss it and it's probably super far away from my house.

When I ordered mine the other day on Amazon, the .99¢ RDD wasn't available so I have to wait until the 17th. As many copies as they are moving, would not surprise me if it gets here sooner.

Had the same estimate for Fallout NV, and it got here a day after release. They shipped over 5 million copies of that game to retailers and you know CoD easily has 5x as many games going out tomorrow.

I'm surprised people still watch The Simpsons. ;)

With the latest seasons I feel so sad when I watch it and don't laugh. How the mighty have fallen...
I am really digging the Famas. Got rid of the three shot burst and it's damn nice.
I just got home and am installing it to my HDD. So stoked!

If the first mission/level is any indication of the rest of the single player, this game is going to be an insanely good time.

I don't know if I can get over Ice Cube voicing one of the main characters, though.

I was told that Walmart would be barren for midnight release in my area. THat information was very, very wrong. At least 80 people in line, can't imagine what GS and BB were like.

Got my space flight suit code in my email.

I was just wondering if anyone on CAG besides me was not planning on buying the so called "best selling game of the year"? I also think that Actvision is overhyping this one too much, but it'll just end being a piece of crap like Modern Warfare 2 was : /

I won't be getting it. My Xbox 360 is dead and I didn't enjoy the last CoD game much. I will probably get it eventually when I get a new Xbox 360.
I wont be picking it up this year probably trying to get through my backlog
Seconded. I will miss zombies however.

I think amazon may have sent out a typo e-mail for the pre-order bonus points.

The e-mail mentions "100 points":

"Thank you for purchasing “Call of Duty: Black Ops” from Amazon.com. It is our pleasure to let you know that you have earned 100 Pre-order Bonus Points. 200 Pre-order Bonus Points are worth a $20 promotional credit toward the purchase of any item from the Amazon Video Games store shipped and sold by Amazon.com. "

Yet on the amazon page it mentions "200 points":

"200 Pre-order Bonus Points
Order
Call of Duty: Black Ops and receive 200 Pre-order Bonus Points. Offer good for all pre-order customers who have not already received promotional credit on this item."

I am not quite sure why, but I have zero interest in that game. I dunno, maybe to me the Call of Duty series has run its course, maybe it is because of a deep seated dislike for Treyarch... I really don't know why, but I have better stuff to play :p

I won't be getting it right away. Maybe I'll pick it up if it hits < $40 somewhere on Black Friday (which I'm sure it will...). I have Halo Reach for now, plus Mass Effect 2 which I just started, plus a life to live outside of video games.

Not getting it. Passed on World at War and have Reach and the upcoming BFBC2 Vietnam expansion to fill my online shooter needs. Plus I have Fable 3, Dead Rising 2, various XBLA games and the Kinect games to keep me busy for the rest of the year.

Nope. I played MW when I got it through Goozex and enjoyed the short single player, then retraded it. I don't do multiplayer, and that's apparently the big draw of COD games.

Actually canceled my pre-order from Amazon on Saturday. Was reading too much about how the game is already hacked and people were exploiting the shit out of it. For me, COD just isn't fun anymore. I know MW2 wasn't.
I wont be picking it up this year probably trying to get through my backlog
^ this. I will probably get around to playing it sometime...but thanks to all of the B2G1 free sales I have a decent sized backlog right now.

Glitchers are out in force. Care package glitch is back and lots of out of map videos posted already. Also I noticed there is a option to report players but they include boosting as a reporting offense. I wonder what they consider boosting. At least the Online achievements aren't tied to MP just the zombie game types.

I may pick it up eventually, but definitely not this year. I've enjoyed the single-player parts of the CoD series, but I don't play a lot of online multiplayer, so there's no rush. If and when I can get it for less than $20 (2012 maybe?) I'll probably grab it. I'm going to try to focus on games in my backlog until February when Portal 2 hits.

No sir. The 16 year old at my work can't understand why I wouldn't instantly buy it... and that very fact is the reason! lol. I might buy it eventually if reviews are good, the multi pans out, and if I ever want to play another multiplayer fps after all the time I'm putting into reach :)

Couldn't care less about Black Ops. Had some fun with MW2 but didn't feel the least bit compelled to keep it once I was sick of the multiplayer.

I'll probably get it from Goozex or something down the line, but for now I'm more interested in getting back to BFBC2 (especially with the Vietnam expansion coming out). Backlog is still too huge anyway, and I won't be putting RB3 down anytime soon.

I have never really played a CoD game and this one won't be my first. I have played the demo of CoD 3 and it was fine, but I never bothered to buy it. I did like the demo of Battlefield 1942 and I ended up pre-ordering Battlefield Bad Company 2 as a result (mainly because I wanted the single player)... and it's still sitting in a drawer unopened. Oh well.

So IGN gave Ops a 9.0 and World at War a 9.2. I hated the mp for waw and so far am enjoying the mp for Ops. Will have to see how the sp plays out.

I thought ign gave it a 8.5 ?!?!? ....

World at War left a bad taste in my mouth and I've been watching people play Black Ops live on Justin.tv which solidifies my standing - I'll pass.
I've got Halo Reach, re-bought Gears 2 (don't ask why) and Rock Band 3 is on the way. That's more than enough until Dead Space 2 in January.

I'm not buying it either. Haven't played an FPS since Doom on PSOne. I don't like them, and I am not good at them.

I don't understand how these games can stay so popular for so long when games from the same era like Beat em Ups, 2d shooters, and fighting games have all but died out and become so niche you have to import $2000 Japanese arcade boards.
