Call of Duty Black OPS

Is it just me, or is the spawning in this game stupid fast? I feel like I will spawn, I'll pick off a guy, start walking towards where I think other enemies are. I'll make it five steps and then realize my entire team has ran off to other parts of the map, see someone, focus on them, then get shot in the back by four dudes coming out of no where. Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, just really don't want to go through the last 99 pages, especially with the argument going on here.
If I don't care about the extra custom slots, and won't get a thrill out of re-leveling, is there any point to prestige?
No.
Yet again, the margin between your ability to understand what is being said to you and your level of maturity has widened beyond measure. This will be my last post concerning your regretful existence in this thread and on this site. The time has come for me to end my part in derailing this thread.

Your entire platform has been flawed from the get-go. Neither Trakan or anyone from the group of people you so childishly refer to as the Dick Riders have been "crying" about this game, at all. If we make a post in here talking about Ghost's supremacy, the terrible balance of the guns, the shitty netcode, etc. its because we're showing concern about the state and future of the game. We play this game for hours nearly every day, just like our group has for Modern Warfare 2 and just like we did for Call of Duty 4 - we have plenty of experience with the franchise and we know what makes a good game and what doesn't. The fact that Treyarch barely recognizes some glaring problems with the gameplay, while correcting the most minor of issues, is a concern for us because we enjoy playing the game so much. Even with the plethora of problems that plague this current game, we still enjoy it and know that if some of these outstanding issues are resolved then it would be an amazing game.

Stating these issues and their need for resolution is not crying and it is not whining. Do we do it fairly often? Yes. I know that I bring up the issue every time there is a new patch that doesn't resolve these problems. Is it beating a dead horse? No. If Treyarch continues to stand by the idea that they listen to their supporters and attempt to fix major problems with the game, then we're going to keep being vocal about these problems. If anything, we're being proactive as well as good consumers because we want this product to be as good as it can be. Your stance is to sit idly on your ass and accept mediocrity, which is not only lazy but it ultimately hurts said product. If Treyarch doesn't hear these opinions, how are they going to know to fix something? If no one had spoken up about the Hardline Pro perk, would it have gotten patched? What about the lobby system? What about the Chopper Gunner and Gunship killstreaks? Why are you so against the idea of Treyarch making the game better? We want this game to be as good as much as the next guy, and we're not going to let some illogical "no game is perfect, so why should this be any different?" rationalization be an excuse for us to just accept the way that things are.

If your main problem is that you don't agree with our posts, then simply say you don't agree and move on. If your problem is that you don't like the frequency of our posts, follow your own line of thinking and either ignore us or leave the thread and stick to your social groups. Stirring up the bee hive does nothing but completely ruin your utopian dreams of a Call of Duty thread full of lively discussion. For your own sake, stop sitting there on your righteous throne and pretending like you are not to blame (even partially) for derailing this thread like we have, and quit trying to appear innocent by saying "I didn't even quote you before I replied" - you've had one person or one group in mind as you've been typing these posts, and you're full of shit if you say otherwise.

That, in a nutshell, is our reasoning for posting here: because we want this game to be better than it currently is. For this game to have any longevity, the core problems must be fixed - and having people say "just accept it" is something that none of us paid $50-60 to hear.

The thing that makes absolutely no sense in this situation is your presence in the thread. The very things you are complaining about are the things you are actively participating in and continuing. The worst part is that you don't even realize it and, if you did, I'd go as far as to say that you'd willfully deny it. Under a barrage of replies, you have yet to recognize (not even once) that you are showcasing some of the most hypocritical posts that I think I have ever witnessed for myself. You have "beaten a dead horse" by continuing to complain about something that we were never even truly doing, and you have helped turn this into an all-out brawl. You comment on our comprehension with each new post, yet it is you who is failing to understand any of my posts. Hell, you can't even spell my username correctly when referring to me - it's obvious that you are not paying attention to anything being said, and that you're simply hell bent on putting us in our place or some equally shitty vendetta. You constantly deflect and/or ignore everything that's being said to you, and then follow it up with your cheesy, immature jokes about us "getting slammed by Trakan" or being "dick riders" who "deserve less respect than a one-cent crack whore" and that we get "bent over", etc. Who are you trying to impress with this shit? Any reasonable person can see that you've completely lost it and have stooped well below our level for reasons unknown.

But, of course you're going to retreat behind your fortress of "I don't care" - which is really the highlight of all of this. You're just like jkanownik before he challenged us to play, just like the guy a few weeks ago who repeatedly called us "pubstars", and you're just like the guy who in a few weeks will pick up the torch that your insignificant ass leaves behind to continue the cycle of starting shit up with us. You're all the same to us, and you will all accomplish absolutely nothing each time one of you decides that it's necessary to start banging on the war drums once again.

It was fun to bask in your ignorance and your sudden decline into insanity at first, but one really does start to lose interest when the target of your mockery and verbal abuse so far exceeds the predetermined line of mental deficiency that society would find acceptable to make fun of.

Feel free to not care enough to get the last word in by quoting this and running down your list of 6th grade level jokes about what sexual acts I perform with Trakan and the rest of our group. I can't wait for you to prove my point for me, yet again.

This is all I have to say to you.
Will hopefullly be my last response regarding this... Of course unless any of you want to further try to help derail it.

Like I said, complaining in a thread on CAG about the state of the game is about as useful as complaining to a class of first graders about the economy... Why? Because there is no one here that can do anything to help resolve the problems. Stating it one time and then leaving it be is fine, and understandable. Carrying on is not. Hell, if you want to be the helpful consumer tweet JD_2020... He does listen.

I also like how you apparently can read minds and say that I was directly aiming it at your group. Seeing as the only two people (from your group) I had noticed that posted anything in here complaining about problems in the game were Trakan and Panda (who I didn't even remember being a part of your group). Hell, personally I would say I see more complaints by Sood... But he doesn't take it personal because he understands it's all a matter of opinion. Him and I have had our arguments, but the fact is we still can appreciate/respect the opinion of the other. Where as you guys HAVE to be right. Everytime. (Trakan excluded for the most part until this time around)

Trakan and I are going to butt heads... That's just the way it works he and I both know that. I am fine with that. It is when the rest of you guys jump in here, than I am going to be a dick. Why? It is hilarious to me to see you guys get all bent out of shape, and believe me I am not the only one who finds it funny. I can make one post and you better believe here comes 5-6 enraged CAGs all frustrated about someone giving their opinion on something.

I am also glad to see that you guys actually bought the game this time around instead of pirating it... Or was that just Braxor that was in to that stuff? As for spelling your name wrong, it was intentional buddy. Why? Because there is nothing funnier than someone who thinks they are hot shit becaues they spell their usernames with all kinds of X's, incorrectly, or numbers. So you can go ahead and bad mouth me and stuff, because in the end everyone realizes who the irritated little boys are.

Look at your challenges and see if any of them are fairly close to being finished. I personally don't pay any attention to challenges until I hit those later levels. I figure then if I am close I can knock some out to prestige faster. The career challenges are usually your best bet since they are worth more most of the time. Although sometimes they backfire. I ended up hitting my 75 hours played one when I started a match and only needed 4000 xp to prestige.

Like Dmaul said, not really. I guess if you are into the different playercard emblems and backgrounds it is worth it... But other than that, there really is no reason. (Maybe prestige leaderboards/lobbies, but more than likely not)

Everyone loves to bitch about this game and sure it's got it's flaws but it's still easily the best online game. I've played this more already than any other CoD. Usually I'm burned out by now but this game keeps me coming back. Hit the 4 days played mark never prestige this many times either. I love that you buy the attachments once you unlock each gun rather than grind. IW will definitely take alot of Treyarchs ideas. Super excited for the map pack!

Really? I guess this is your opinion on the game, but Black Ops barely kept me around longer than World at War and I hated that one as well. I burned out quicker on this one than I did either of IW's though I waited out a little of the start of MW2. Buying attachments is nice, but it also takes away from the game a lot IMO since grinding for stuff definitely made me a better player since I could pick up any weapon at all and be at least good with it. I know if the next COD is anything like this one I will be sitting it out and waiting for the real IW (Respawn) to make another shooter.

The next CoD will definitely be interesting. Sledgehammer has the reigns for the next game, and there were reports (can't remember where) that it was a prequel to MW2 and/or MW. If it is a prequel I think that it is dumb since MW2 ended on a cliffhanger. The only thing is that I could see them doing a prequel to cash in on Ghost since everyone seemed to love him.

The prequel isn't being done by Sledgehammer , it's being done by Infinity Ward. Sledgehammer is supposed to be working on the "future warfare" game.

At least that's the last I heard , could be mistaken. My theory on the next MW game being a prequel both because they know people love ghost , and possibly because of the continued lawsuit against Respawn entertainment over the rights to the MW series.

You know how much money ive wasted when prestiging? I prestiged for the 4th time i think a day or two ago and had like 89000 CODollars left. I could have bought a ton of the tag backgrounds. I dont know why i didnt think of doing that before.

Because they are worthless.

I also have prestiged for the forth time and lost about a trillion fake dollars that will buy me things that are a waste of time.

I give them a hand for trying but the whole money things is complete crap.
No.
I have to agree with that. I did it once, but other than the extra custom, there really is little payoff IMO.

Everyone I know misses the old way of unlocking things. This game got boring fast because pretty much everything is unlocked at the start and you level up so fast.

I doubt you'll see IW taking any ideas from Treyarch.

I will somewhat agree with that... For me it is a love/hate. I like not having to use somethings in order to unlock another (ACOG on a sniper rifle to unlock a thermal)... But it definitely does take out the fun out of leveling.

IW (or whoever the next dev. is) will probably do just like IW did with MW2 and not take the good things and just say screw it. A couple of things that made W@W good were the ability to join a squad in game. Had they made an ability to kick people from being in your squad it would have been faultless. Also IW screwed up by not including the "back out with party" feature and the online stat tracking (or stat tracking in general beyond the standard).

Treyarch did two things right, no dumb game ending killstreaks, and killstreaks dont count towards higher killstreaks. Hope IW takes those two things if not anything else.

The other thing I kind of like is that Care Packages can drop other things not just normal killstreaks. (Grim Reaper and Death Machine). I hate the Grim Reaper most of the time but I love the Death Machine. I don't usually get them too often anyway, but I can see how they would get annoying if you repeatedly got them.
Treyarch did two things right, no dumb game ending killstreaks, and killstreaks dont count towards higher killstreaks. Hope IW takes those two things if not anything else.
Those two problems went hand in hand though. With killstreak kills not counting toward getting other killstreaks, it would be a LOT harder to get a nuke.

And perhaps, if somebody can get 25 kills that way, the game is better off ending for you.

The nuke ending the game wasn't the problem. Every time I ever got one I waited until the last minute to call it in to maximize on kills, XP, etc. Unless I was going for the "Call in a nuke while your team is losing" challenge, we were already winning when I got the nuke anyway. Very rarely can someone call in a nuke while legitimately losing the game. Also, the killstreaks are incredibly easy to shoot down. If the enemy team chooses not to get rid of your air support, they deserve to get nuked. I've never actually been legit nuked, but I have been fake nuked a few times. Therein lied the problem. People boosting to get the nuke. For whatever reason.

Thinking about $hady's post more, I really hope IW just focuses on what problems MW2 had and fixes them. Don't take anything from Treyarch. Unless it's something minuscule like the back out with party option.

Treyarch has ripped pretty much 95% of the content for their games straight from IW. The engine, the standard/pro perks, the challenges, the gametypes, the equipment, the weapon attachments, the killstreaks. Probably more. It's really the only reason their games stand a chance. Anyone remember COD3? Everything that Treyarch has done on their own has failed miserably in my opinion:

- Tanks in MP
- Reviving people in Last Stand/Second Chance
- The useless Toss Back/Gas Mask/Shades perks in WaW (I think there was another one that detected dogs or something? I can't remember.)
- Increasing the view kick/flinching in Black Ops to add in Hardened Pro as a perk
- Increasing the health in UAV/Counter UAVs to add in the Sam Turret killstreak.
- Flak Jacket. I would give them credit for removing noob tubes entirely, but I believe they left them in for this stupid perk.
- I'm not entirely sure on this one, but I think they slowed down player movement altogether. Bouncing back and forth between Black Ops and MW2 over the past few weeks, it feels like you move faster in MW2. COD is supposed to be faster paced. This one might be in my head though.

To a lesser extent:
- Killstreaks no longer stacking. I have no problem obtaining them, but it slows down the gameplay too much. Again, COD is supposed to be fast paced.

All in my opinion of course.

I am with you on this one, it is the only way I will even consider getting the next COD game. Personally I am fine without the nuke since it encouraged camping, but at the same time I could run and gun to get it so it didn't bother me one way or another. The only things I would keep from this are backing out with party and lobby leaderboards (maybe... sometimes people wont play if you are too good). I didn't mind killstreaks stacking since they are so easy to take out, but at the same time I wouldn't mind them being a little more difficult to earn if they increase the power of them. Any type of helicopter is easy to drop in Black Ops and make the higher killstreaks feel pretty worthless, so if they can take more damage or can't be locked onto until the are fully in the map I would be fine with that.

Without all the extra emblems, how am I going to keep improving on my swastika, penis, anus and/or breast masterpieces?!

I am now staunchly in the camp of a lag patch being needed. I'm done with Black Ops until a patch comes or there are new maps.

I picked up a cheap copy of BF:BC2:UE from AWD to cover my need for shooting dudes in the face in the interim.

Don't forget how they borked the map picking system.

Pre-patch: Hey, you guys just played Nuketown, let's throw it up for vote again. *5 minutes later* Hey, you just finished a game of Nuketown, let's throw it up for vote again. *Repeat ten more times*

Post Patch: Hey, you guys just played Nuketown, let's throw it up for vote again. *5 minutes later* Hey, you just finished a game of Nuketown, let's throw it up for vote again. Oh wait, you played it twice in a row already, we'll just gray this option out.
Do you guys usually play Core or Hardcore?
I usually stick with core myself since in all of the past CoD games I have found Hardcore to be annoying as shit due to the mass amount of campers and horribly slow paced games.

Does Hacker Pro always show something really good when you sabotage a enemy care package? I just unlocked it and used for the first time tonight. Both times it showed dogs when I watched their replays. First time was hilarious as everyone scrambled for it then it sounda like a big explosion! :D

Edit: posting from my phone so I honestly didn't even see the above post on same topic until I posted! Lol kinda crazy as you rarely see this in game, I've never seen it in my time playing.

Hustletron, you gotta run or change to a hardline pro class before you throw the smoke. Double tapping ammo care packs is a life saver. I double tapped dogs away from some annoying ass kid today. He cussed me pretty bad it made my night. :D

Im getting pretty bored with the guns now. So ive been using the last shotgun/duel wield. Its really fun blasting people with it, only bad thing is it has terrible range. So i cant really go on a streak. AlphaPanda seen me get a game winning cam with it last night, in nuketown. I blasted some dude in the back, then turned and someone tried to knife me and i shot him for the final kill. It was pretty sweet to see.

But other than that i usually stick with my M16, G11, Stoner is cool sometimes. Just want to switch it up sometimes and play a different style. Sometimes i play serious, sometimes i play for fun. Last night i was using my duel wield shotgun/running class in havana and dude on my team kept bitching to stay back so we wouldnt flip spawn spots with them. But i couldnt because i was trying to run around and blast people as i always do on this map and i usually end up doing good. Staying on my side using this style just didnt work at all. In the end he left, because no one was listening to him, and he was purposly shooting teammates that went past him, and he wouldnt get kicked because he was host. He really took the fun out of that match.

Here is another boobytrap bomb.

Was fun playin those few matches with ya, 7th. Usually I see that you're "In a party", but you usually have that guest playing with you so I don't want to join the party if it'd inconvenience ya, especially if you were about to leave or whatnot.

I was wondering why you were dual-wielding it up with that shotgun. For the most part, I hate that thing. I can see how it'd be useful in HC, except for the range.

I love the people on this game who don't touch their care packages when they get Ammo. My Hardline Pro thanks them. The other night on Grid, a player on the other team left an Ammo care package untouched, so I went up to it and re-rolled it to Rolling Thunder. Must have felt like an idiot.

I've only been able to boobytrap a couple times. You'd think it'd be more common given how often spawns seem to flip. I absolutely love it though, you get to steal a package and potentially kill whoever rightfully earned it.

One time I was killed while booby trapping a package. I didn't finish but I must've scared the guy from taking his package, 'cause he ended up just leaving it there. True story.
I love the people on this game who don't touch their care packages when they get Ammo.
I don't get leaving ammo crates unless maybe they're trying to earn hardline pro or they're rocking scavenger pro (which I think gives max ammo when you spawn?). Otherwise, you get max ammo! Sure, it's not dogs, but it's not a kick in the nuts either.

Yeah when im playing with a guest its my sister who is still in training LOL. Her high kill count is 12 so far. But she is getting better. I dont mind if you join, just dont get mad if i go off all of a sudden without messaging you. I really only play hardcore team deathmatch. I got my personal best in Hardcore TDM yesterday on jungle with a 34 - 6 line. Had 2 attack helicopters to help me out.

One thing i dont understand is the leaderboards for the lobby, it will say only ranked games count. But how do you play a ranked game exactly?

And last but not least, and i know ive said it before, but i really really hate last stand. Almost to the point where i want to just stop playing this game. Its so cheap when you kill a guy, only for him to survive and he either kills you back, or you have to shoot him 1-2 more times to actually get the kill. I really cant stand that. I really like this game, but that one thing really turns me off.

Is there an official CAG night? I'd like to play with everyone sometime. I usually stick to TDM though, but I guess I'm not opposed to giving something else a try.

Not at all, brother. I just didn't want to bother you if you just wanted to play the game with your sister there and I kept popping into your party. You playing Hardcore really works out, honestly, since I usually want to play Hardcore but none of my buds do.

It must be certain personalities. Last stand generally doesn't bug me. I've certainly noticed that it drives some people nuts. I'll usually throw a concussion at a downed player if I feel they have a chance. Concussion explosions alone will kill them. Hell, hitting them with a nade will kill them.

If I think a player has last stand, I'll empty my clip into them as they go down, they never get a chance to fire back. Once in a while, I'll need to reload, they'll go down facing me and get off a headshot. That would piss me off if it happened all the time but it seems rare to me.

Note to self: Stop throwing random across-the-map grenades in Hardcore TDM. I keep killing teammates, lawdy. I also have a shoot-first reflex which led to many depressing teamkills. I'm sorry, guy-who-is-now-in-Last-Stand.

For me its not so easy. Usually they catch me off guard, or i shoot them while falling so they are bulletproof, and they somehow shoot me back before i can shoot them when they finally hit the ground and settle into last stand. There are also times where we shoot at the same time and i end up dead, while he ends up in last stand. I know when i used to use last stand it would happen to me a lot where id just fall into last stand, while the guy i was shooting at died.

i assume its the same in this as it was in mw2 (dont run care package so i dont know) but i use to always leave ammo for 2 reasons, one is that you can get bonus xp if a team mate picks it up. another is people tend to be stupid sometimes and they (enemies) just run for your care package... easy kill. so i can see why people would leave ammo.... but i personally dont care for the care package... i just hate waiting for my perks to come in and get dropped off lol...
