I finally got my Girls Bravo set from Rightstuf yesterday. I watched the first four episodes. Lord, that show is hilarious and just plain wrong at times. :lol:
 
My friend was over yesterday and wanted to see how good my new HT system is and he wanted to watch Hellsing Ultimate. Man, that is a perfect DVD to test a setup with. Video quailty is awesome, the surround effects are awesome, and the show itself is perfection.

Cannot wait for Vol. 2 on June 12th.

Follow-Up: Sci Fi Channel's schedule indicates its Ani-Monday block will premiere with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society on June 11 at 11:00 p.m. ET. As the latest installment of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, this movie moves the story ahead two years after the second series. Bandai Entertainment will sell the movie's DVD on July 3, and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block will begin airing repeats of the second series on May 13. I enjoyed it a great deal. Just a nice, silly, fun film to watch. I just bought the regular DVD. I really like the transitions in the action scenes. It's unlike anything I have ever seen before. I was thinking about getting the LE w/Lunchbox, but I passed.
 
Just finished Blood+. I started it almost a year ago but stopped for some reason. Good ending, but I'm left wanting more...now I don't know what to start next.

Geneon Entertainment has granted Transworld an exclusive version of Hellsing Ultimate Volume 2. Similar to Best Buy's exclusive version of volume 1, the Transworld exclusive will include the same SteelBook case as the US$49.98 limited edition release (which retails for about US$38). However, it will carry a suggested retail price of US$29.98, US$5 more than the standard release. The Transworld exclusive will not include the art book included in the limited edition, but it will include the extra disc.

The Transworld SteelBook version will be available on June 12, the same day as the regular edition. It will be sold with a sticker covering the middle-finger artwork of the steel case; with the sticker removed, the case will be identical to the limited edition.

AOL began offering Bubblegum Crisis, the first anime series on its In2TV online video service, on May 2. The entire dystopic science-fiction series is available for free streaming with a compatible version of Adobe Flash Player. Episodes are also available for downloading in what the service calls "full screen, DVD quality video." Unlike the streams, the downloaded files include digital rights management for Windows-only playback, and cannot run on iPods. I watched the first episode on adult swim when it started, but I just haven't been able to stay awake ince then. Work is just draining me.

I just finished Girls Bravo yesterday. Fun show. Left me wanting more.

Man, Full Metal Panic: TSR is soooo good. I loved the last two series of the show and I watched the first disc for this series, but I waited for the entire thing to be released before I watched any more (since the wait between volumes would be killer.) And yeah, I'm finishing up Vol. 2 right now and I'll be picking up Vols. 3 and 4 today. This show is ridiculously awesome.

All I've ever watched is FMP Fumoffu :D, and that is hilarious with some awesome animation quality. I found it "awesomer" than Goldenboy

And Blood+ is good...it just starts off kinda...ehh...I wasn't interested in it when I started it, it does get better though.

You are missing the fuck out. Fumoffu was a fantastic show, but personally, I love the original series and TSR because mechs = awesome. Actually, scratch that, mechs usually = mediocrity, but FMP does it well. Definitely one of my favorite series.

haven't heard anything yet... unfortunately, Sony licensed it, and if you remember Cyborg 009... well, that didn't work out so well when it came to DVD releases. Granted, Blood + probably has a much broader appeal and thus has potential to sell a hell of a lot more, so I'm expecting to see DVDs sometime in the near future. I refuse to watch the show dubbed on CN with commercials, so I'm waiting for the DVDs before I bother with watching the show at all.

In other news, I finished watching FMP TSR Vol. 3 today. Unbelievably good. I am pissed as fuck that no Best Buy in my area has TSR Vol. 4... it's on order. That shit had better get back in stock before I break some worker's fibula.
 
I think one of the big things about FMP for me is the fact that although there are mechs, they don't take over the show, like many mecha animes. That's what I've always felt like when I watch something like Gundam. The mecha become bigger than the characters and seem to take over. It was far from that for FMP, where the mecha was just sorta there and the show was REALLY all about the characters. That's what made me love the show so much more.

Depends on what Gundam you're watching. The UC shows don't really focus on the mecha at all. Especially shows like War in the Pocket and 8th MS Team. Most of the mecha focus is found in the AU shows. The bastard stepchildren of the Gundam family.

I've been over this before with people on this board. You will NEVER get me to like a Gundam series. I've watched them before (both the older stuff and the newer stuff) and I do not enjoy them. Everytime I watch one fo the shows, it's all about the giant robot fights and I just don't enjoy it. No Gundam series will EVER compare to the FMP shows in my book. You might as well just give up trying to defend these shows to me.

I know exactly what you are talking about with Cyborg 009. Sony doesn't need to emulate ADV Manga's model of halfway (or less) releasing stuff.

I don't mind watching it with commericals, but I have missed every episode except the first one.

I'm not trying to get you to like them lol. I'm just saying your assessement about the shows being all about the mecha is incorrect. Unless you're either talking about the AU stuff or you're talking about some of the battles themselves. What I mean by the latter is that there are fights that are important (Char vs. Amuro for example), but it's not about their suits. It's about them.

Whether you like them or not, well that's personal taste:D Also I've only seen a little of the first FMP series, and wasn't impressed. So I'll see it eventually. It's just really low on my list of shows to watch due to a bad first DVD experience.

They didn't take it seriously at all. If you read the director's notes on each DVD he says that he was just making a goofy show. He gives examples of things he put in there just to see how ridiculous he could make it, and still get away with it.

Though with that said, it surprisingly has a very good love story in there.

Looks like Toonami's airing the second Naruto movie this weekend (1st is the snow one, right?). Might check it out, not because it's all that good, but because there's not really much of anything else on that night.

Yea, the first one is the snow one, and the only part I really liked in that one was when they busted out those shuriken turrets on all those guys, I was impressed ;)

I was hoping for the metal case version to hit Best Buy again... oh well. The art book better be worth it.

I do like the regular artwork, but nothing compares to the "fuck YOU BEAM" that Jan is firing off in the LE art.

Anyway, I managed to get FMP TSR Vol. 4 at BB today after waiting like a half hour for an employee to check for it. But it's worth it... I love this show. I guess I'll get t'watchin' after the Office.
