Basically. Best Buy got the exact same deal for volume 1 (a metal case with two discs, but no Alucard figure; I think they sold this instead of the basic version).
Though the special edition with artbook is $37.49 at Amazon, so I'm not too mad about paying extra. I love the art style in Hellsing, so it's worth it for me.

What gundam series should I like at? I have seen gundam seed, and gundam seed destiny and gundam wing. Any other gundam series I might enjoy?
Also, dont you think how it is kind of ridiculous in gundam wing a single gundam can kill 50 zaku's while in a different series it takes so much time to kill a few zaku's and other mechs.

I liked 8th MS Team the first couple times I saw it... though when I finally bought the DVDs, I remember being bored to the point where I couldn't even finish it.

I loved 8th MS Team. It was nice to see the OYW from that prespective. I love Newtypes as much as the next guy, but they do have a tendency to dominate the plot. I also liked the love story aspect of it.

I debate that a lot with various people, and it is a good point. It also depends on what one considers great. For example, Yazan was an excellent pilot who even gave Kamille (possibly the best pilot in Gundam history) a run for his money, and he wasn't a Newtype. Yazan is an exception though.
There are a lot of Oldtype pilots who are really good. Emma Sheen, Shiro Amada, The Black Tristars, Jerid Messa and many others. But yeah, if you talk about the best of the best they're going to be the ones with that extra edge. Even then you still need skill. All the Newtype powers in the world can't help you if you have no skill (see Quess).
I debate that a lot with various people, and it is a good point. It also depends on what one considers great. For example, Yazan was an excellent pilot who even gave Kamille (possibly the best pilot in Gundam history) a run for his money, and he wasn't a Newtype. Yazan is an exception though.
There are a lot of Oldtype pilots who are really good. Emma Sheen, Shiro Amada, The Black Tristars, Jerid Messa and many others. But yeah, if you talk about the best of the best they're going to be the ones with that extra edge. Even then you still need skill. All the Newtype powers in the world can't help you if you have no skill (see Quess).

Anyway, I went out on a limb and ordered the FMP! boxset. Finished the first two DVDs, and my opinion of it is definitely higher than my initial one. Though it's still not in the "great" category. Hopefully it improves.

I'll let someone else field that one since I'm apparently no good at explaining it. I tried to get a friend to watch the fansubs, but he was very disinterested. Keep in mind this friend has absolutely no taste regarding nearly everything, but he was at least open to the series for about ten minutes.

I got it for $50 from rodeojones903 here on CAG. It was the regular set, not the thinpak. I hate ADV's stripped down thinpaks.

Haruhi came out today and no one's posting about it?!
Got the box + DVD in the mail. Pretty decent box with lots of movement and such. Doors open, drawers come out. It's nifty. The extras are kinda lame, but I'm in it for the box mostly.
DVD itself has TONS of extras on it. It's got three or four of the (A)SOS brigade episodes and bunch of TV specials along with the standard clean opening and ending.
Disappointed by the lack of a 5.1 Japanese track though. They will probably put it on the bonus DVDs coming out in the next two limited sets.
Video quality is superb. Looks just as good as the 720p RAWs that were floating around.
I haven't decided if I like the dub yet. I think Freeman is an excellent choice for Kyon, and he plays his part well... but... he isn't Kyon. Same with all the rest of them. While they may be good VAs and sound similar to the originals, they simply aren't the originals. Having watched the fansubs half-a-dozen times, I'm almost too familiar with how they all sound, so they dub just sounds weird, even if they are trying very hard to match that level of performance.
Like I said, I'm fine with Freeman. Bosch even sounds decent. I guess my problems are with the female leads, specifically Lee. She just isn't Hirano. The other two sound like their Japanese counterparts, but Sheh in particular sounds like she's really forcing that squeaky voice out.
Keep in mind I've only watched the first two episodes, so my opinion could drastically change, but so far, Japanese > English dub, but the dub isn't bad by any means.

Honestly, after watching the last two episodes on the disc, the dub grew on me. I still think Wendee Lee is a little too loud, but otherwise, she started to fit to me during the last episode. Michelle Ruff really came through in the last one as well, during the beginning where she goes through all that Data Integration Thought Entity babble. Still completely digging Crispin Freeman. I especially loved Bosch's "I'm afraid of the consequences" line. The a.f.k. sub didn't get any response from me at that point, but Bosch made me laugh.
Now... about the subtitles...
WHAT THE HECK?! What happened? I'm not complaining about being too used to the a.f.k. translation (since it's probably true), but it seems that the guy who did the a.f.k. subbing and whatever company did the official release heard two different things. Either the a.f.k. dude took some huge liberties or whoever did this DVD purposefully wanted to make it significantly different from the a.f.k. subs. I mean, there are lots lines that have completely different meanings and some of the phrasing is totally unnatural. I'd say the dub and the a.f.k. sub are similar in most regards, but the official subtitles are way off from the two of them.
Again, I only watched the first two episodes (and I secretly prayed during the first one that they intentionally butchered the subs to make the crappiness of Haruhi's film stand out like a kung-fu flick with a bad translation, though that ended up not being the case), so my opinion is based on an incomplete viewing, but if this keeps up, I'm going to seriously considering going back to the fansubs for the Japanese audio and superior subtitles rather than watching this official piece of crap. I'll still get the rest of the DVDs for the dubs, however.
All that aside, I forgot to mention something in my pseudo-review. They've added new scenes. Not a ton, but every episode has at least one new scene, and some have even more. They're nothing hugely special, but it's still cool that they've extended the episodes a bit.

Just ordered the first Gunbuster 2 DVD. I actually haven't seen the series yet, and hope it's even half as good as the original was. Granted Anno didn't direct it, but it was directed by Tsurumaki (FLCL) and that's really the next best thing.

Gawd, was it awesome. This is exactly why Naruto is the highlight of my Fridays. This one just blew me away. It had very cool scenes, and addressed some very important details. I think also think Kishimoto likes Kingdom Hearts 2.
