Condemned 2: Bloodshot - Gen Discussion & Info
Wow. Greg Grunberg was the voice of Ethan? That's awesome.

That trailer is pretty sweet. Did Ethan throw a baby in that trailer? :)
Yes. I'm also pretty sure a baby exploded somewhere towards the end.

Box art has been released as well. You can also find a ton of screenshots here.

My name is Ethan Thomas, no relation to Sam Fisher. But I to am a... EMO!

After watching that trailer twice the AI even reacted the same as the first one. My hopes aren't too high for this one, but hopefully the online death match is decent enough to extend the replay value a bit. Doubt I'll pick it up at full price considering It's releasing next to Vegas 2.

I don't want it to change much. I was content with the first game, and will be picking this up at release. Hopefully the plot keeps me just as interested.

Woah! Release date is March 14?! I had no idea it was so close! I've been so pre-occupied with CoD4 and Brawl updates that I haven't been keeping an eye on this game. Awesome!
Or give us a multiplayer option.. thatd be pretty fun
Multiplayer is confirmed, although there's no word yet if it will be anything more than a shallow bashfest.

Same. I thought the AI in the first game was just fine.

Uh oh, the cover resembles the Manhunt 2 cover (and that game sucked ass), hope that's not a sign for this game :hot:

yeah, yeah it did. Biggest waste of 40 bucks ever. I hope rockband issues me a refund.
Yeah, that's a new voice. Don't care for it much :/

Honestly, I don't care if the story is any good. As long as I get to explore more grungy, abandoned, urban areas filled with depraved crack addicts, I'll be all set.
Agreed. Which is why I'm a bit wary that
they seem to be jumping right to the supernatural stuff. The first game didn't even really confirm the supernatural element until ... the last level? Seems a shame to put it out in the open so quickly here.

That last level in Condemned was badass. Creeped my ass out more than any of the others. Especially when you went in the basement where enemies seemed to actually respawn.

Wrap the spoiler tags around it.
I so happy I could burst
In all seriousness I can't wait. As sloppy as some of those controls were that was a great game. I jumped several times, and my brother quit playing it after one late night marathon that resulted in a serious nightmare for him.

The multi-player element alone has got my mouth watering.

You take the 2x4 and I'll take my steam fitting and let's go at it, ahh stabbed with a bottle or whacked with a shop placard- fun, fun, fun! As long I get to taser newbs I am good to go.

I seem to disagree with your assessment of the trailer
it seems to me that there is the question again about what is supernatural and what is Ethan's distorted perception of "reality" and what maybe a hallucination (either his alone or mass psycosis) or some other form of mental illness or dementia, that's why it was such an enthralling dark peek into this guys noggin. This is reinforced by his hallucination with the medication slurry and his pounding in the face of the demonic-zombie type who turn out just to be some normal guy/ random at the wrong place and the wrong time.

Also the developers have said that his alcoholism will play a part in the gameplay. So I'm guessing a lot of those supernatural things we saw in the trailer are probably due to that.

My most anticipated game of this year. I can't wait... but I must ask, it's called Bloodshot, the character has a drinking problem and the giant eye on the cover isn't, you know, bloodshot?

This is a great "adult" (in the non-pornographic sense) title. I wish more games had the depth and gravitas of this game. (Although I might be a bit premature in saying that.)

Is it just me, or does this game look like a set up to one big disappointment? Just the whole feel of the game I've gotten from the previews and trailers, and the fact that it's a sequel, make me pretty wary of this game.

Condemned: Criminal Origins was a fucking amazing game, but this game... I'm a bit worried about.

I want to love you condemend 2.
Please let me love you.
Dont break my heart.
Neither my wallet also,
Please be on sale when you come out.

I'm on the fence about this one as the whole being able to punch thing sounds like it'll be more of a beat-'em-up than a survival horror title. The multiplayer aspect adds to this suspicion as well. I liked the first one for the most part, but I'm unconvinced that this will be any better and it could very well be worse.

The 1up show preview of this game makes me curious and rather excited about it. I thought the first one was pretty good, but nothing special at all. It was short, linear, offered little variety whatsoever and almost no replay value, but was very good at the one thing that it did. In other words, it was a good game for $15. But I wouldn't have expected the sequal to be worth more than $50.

I was also a bit worried about the revamped combat as it sounded like it would be more of a beat-'em-up, but from what I gather Condemned 2 will have a lot more gameplay variety than the first, including stealth elements, on-rails shooting, and lots of optional puzzles with multiple solutions. It also sounds like it will be a lot longer with more variety to the environments. This may all be speculative, but if it lives up to what they're saying it will really improve upon its' predecessor in every way and could really be something great. Here's hoping anyway. Can't wait for some real reviews.

Here's the verdicts:

G. Ford: A-
Nick: B+
David: B

Good: Combat, Creeps, Collecting Evidence
Bad: Checkpoints, Multiplayer, Last Levels
The M-Rated Boost: Booze relaxes the trigger finger

Personally, I think the multiplayer sounds good.

Nice. I just got my EGM so I need to go read this ASAP.

Wow, can't wait for this one to come out. I really do think that Condemned was a great game. The atmosphere really made me play on the edge of my seat, and sadly I must say I was even a bit jumpy at times. I'm surprised more people never picked this one up. Hell i picked this up well after a yr of it being out and was considered old for a 360 game. One of the best purchases since i only paid $20 at the time. Hope Bloodshot lives up to the original and surpasses the first in terms of on the edge of your seat fun!
Anyone hear anything on the demo? Not thats its going to change my mind or anything.
I just received an email from Xbox Flash that had the demo featured in it, but I don't think it has made it onto XBL yet. Anyone check today?

I'll check when I get home later. Thanks.

As far as I've seen--- the demo will not be up by the 12th. Apparently the game is getting pushed back for the EU as well.
Alright, basically sold now...
Better hope Jack Thompson & all the news outlets don't hear about this
Oh nvm the delay was only for Europe
I'm so happy to hear that. I was worried for a minute there. I'm so excited for this game. I can't believe there's another game cool enough to actually take me away from Brawl.

That head crushing sequence was fucking awesome. I love how everyone just started laughing/clapping once they realized what was about to happen. I lol'd when the achievement thing popped up. How the hell did this game get an "M" rating? That part alone was worse than anything I saw in Manhunt 2.

Kill babies? That's a little risky. Fable was supposed to have children killing but it had to get pulled otherwise it would have been recalled. I might have to invest in getting this game earlier before it gets pulled.

Were those dead babies? I thought they were just dolls. Though my respect for the game would go up a hundred fold if you really could use dead babies as a weapon.

I also liked how he mentioned that Ethan's drinking with affect the game. Though I wonder how exactly they'll work that in. Are there bottles of alcohol lying around you can drink or something?

They're dolls.
They're dolls.
Be it babies or dolls, I DON'T CARE! Something is going to get kicked in the face then explode when I toss them at other babies/dolls/whatever.
