COWABUNGA DUDES! TMNT out now on XBLA - 400pts!
Yep, there's local. I just finished through the game with my bro.
Ok, thanks. i didn't try signing in with another profile on the second controller, I figured that was the reason I couldn't get local multiplayer.

Guess I'll be setting up 3 dummy profiles... I'm definitely gonna be going nuts with some local 4-player! Time to finally open that 4th wireless controller from the December Buy.com sale...
So, do you have to play through the whole game in one sitting?
Yes. It's just like the arcade game. Tell me any arcade ports on XBLA, that you can save your progress midway through?
Yes, but it will take you only 35 min.
Thanks...I guess that is ok. Usually that annoys me, with little kids and all...time is precious. Oh well...35 mins is not bad. 1 game of baseball basically ;)
man i died so many times in the first level alone... are you ppl actually getting through it with just one character/life
I've been losing my first life in April's apartment. Although now that i have the strategy down for the boss, I can make it through.
Random question: is it mathematically possible to go through the entire game without dying? I've always just assumed it wasn't.
I dunno, I suppose it is, but man, I died a bazillion times in the first level alone lol. I forgot how much I sucked at this game and how used to shell shock I was.

I remember this game being alot easier on my nintendo version I played when I was like 8 :(. Then again, if you add up the quarters I'd have spent on my first playthrough from all the continues, it probably adds up to the $5 I spent in points that I got from various places but never actually paid for. Huzzah?

I just did a quick search on YouTube and somebody has a video of the game being beaten on one quarter. It's split into five parts; here's an example: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JmOqGv3LUso

Not sure if "one quarter" means that he actually does lose a life (i.e. he dies here and there but he never needs to continue) or if it is a true "perfect run." I'm at work so I can't really check the vids myself right now. But I imagine they are quite impressive regardless!
I'm surprised some of you have beat it already. I've only gotten to Level 6.

So the game gives you 19 continues and then Game Over?
People have beaten it and already cheated to fuck the leaderboards up (using the boss who spawns all the little muncher things I'm assuming). Dunno how many continues you get, I know I didn't use all of mine if there IS a limit.

Cool I have to try that!!!;)

My Friend, I just watched the vid (Part 1 anyway) and I am calling BS. Having played this game to death (And you have as well...) there is NO way that the characters move THAT quickly.

When you get home, watch it and see for yourself...
Call me crazy, but I think I prefer TMNT IV Turtles in Time for SNES. Still, best game on XBLA.
Hardly the best game on XBLA. The only thing it has going for it is nostalgia. If this game were brand new and original, people would be bitching like crazy.

I use to work at an Arcade, and yes it had difficulty settings on it. And this version seems, so far, to be set on easy. The unit we had, was set on hardest, and even the early dudes you had to fight, there were more of them, and they took more hits.
Any of you CAG's wanna hook up later tonight for some 4 player online co-op? I call Leonardo.
anytime after 7:30 EDT works for me! I call Donatello. Just send an invite to xpag406 and I'll be all over it like cheese on a pizza.

hey I know it's a bad pun, but when talking about this game, I think it fits! am I right folks?

I've beaten it single player, but it seems single player has unlimited continues lmfao.

This is the strategy you use for most bosses, or at least rocksteady and bebop. If they can be knocked down, hit them a few times, walk away to dodge their melee attack then hit them with a special attack right afterwards to knock them down. Rinse and repeat. Other bosses I don't know, Krang can be beaten with Donny quite easily if you basically move diagonally and hit him each step he tries to catch you. It's those rock guys we have trouble with, my team would lose 5+ lives every time we came across one of those. They are extremely cheap especially their melee attack. Anyone have any suggestions?

MGD HUNTERR

Send me an invite, I'll be on all day / night.

Great game, got 6 achievements the first time through, but still haven't beaten it yet. Anyone up for some co-op?

BTW...for anyone wondering about the Secret Achievement...

All you have to do is fall in the sewer 5 times...worth 0 points.

if they released this as a new game all I would complain about is the graphics. Hell, give me pretty much any beat em up with online co-op and I'll buy it.

Only on local play, on Live you get 19 continues.

I need to get a 360 for this. That's awesome that you can play coop online. I only read this page, but I'm sure this is the arcade version and not the stripped down version that was on the NES. I'm jealous of you guys, but will get a 360 in the next year and play this after everyone else is tired of it and wont be online.
How the fuck are people getting that many points on the leaderboard?
Read up the page. Baxter Stockman throws unlimited Mousers at you. Don't beat him, keep bashing on Mousers. Score skyrockets.

I'll be home from work in about 2 hours, I'll probably be looking for a few of you turds to get a game going.

Wow. Great game. Unlimited continues on single player just saves me from throwing the controller, but also makes me realize how much I suck at this game. Damn I must have continued 100+ times on the single player, and that means I wouldn't last long on Live.
They have the rights for TMNT games now.
Right, since it's licensed--- Konami itself is unable to actually be listed as the publisher. All TMNT games must be published through the person with the current rights.

For example, you can *NEVER* see an old NFL game published on Live w/o it being released by EA because of the exclusive contract since it would involve the franchise rights that are signed away.

It's definitely a good thing to see stuff like this getting released now. I'm hoping this leads to greener pastures like the release of the Simpsons and X-Men arcade games (which never got home releases) or even the old WWF games back in the day. Since they all involve licenses, they will involve other companies, but it is definitely a good sign when one company makes a deal like this.

I'm officially looking for people to be added to my friends list to play this with. Feel free to add me! :whistle2:D

Personally. This Game brings back alot of old great memories and im so glad to see it here. But i tell you what these damn kids who ask who krang is who shredder is, need to learn about the turtles and not just get the game for the achievemenst. Personally I'd love to see The Simpsons Arcade Game, WWF Wrestlerfest (Personally one of my favoriates ive been trying to buy for a long time), X-Men Arcade, and Spiderman: The Videogame (the one with the black cat, hawkeye, and the sub-mariner). Hopefully if we make our voices heard enough we will get what we want. (but man that wouuld be alot of voices lol)

so this game looks like crap on my HD 19" monitor, but looks fine on my SD tv. today is the first time i hooked my xbox up to a regular tv. is this true for anyone else? anyone have thbe same experience with other games?

the game looks great on my 32" HDTV. I don't know why it would look bad on a HD moniter.

Lot of these old games were designed to look good on old school interlaced SDTVs.

played a little bit but had to go...didnt know that you had to beat it in one sitting, but that's okay since the game is pretty fun

i'll be up for some coop this weekend

Roommates and I blasted through the thing on local play. Glad I used my free points from that Discovery thing, I would be bummed if I paid real money for this :)
