(DEAD) $5 off DVD or Blu-Ray coupon

Got The Shining and Dr Strangelove for 10 bucks each. Now all I need is Barry Lyndon and Lolita to finish off my Kubrick collection.

Man... my cashier person wouldn't give me the discount...

I guess I'm going to customer service tomorrow or sometime soon to try and get the coupon applied or return the title

Picked up Iron Man 2 BR for $10. I was disappointed, though, to see that the movie money is only good for up to $7.50. Even the Cars 2 MM was good for up to $8.50 (and that was for a kid's ticket!).
Does anyone know if the coupon can be scanned if it's on a phone?
Can't be scanned but they can enter the sku from it. Tell them you're trying to be green.
i was told to just give them the sku. they literally just throw them in the trash when they scan them
That depends on your store. Some stores require the cashiers to keep all coupons applied to any transaction. When I used a few the other day, the cashier took them and filed them in a little folder at the side of the register.

I know if I catch a movie here in DC, it's about $9, if its at night, its $11.50, so it's not that bad...beats paying the full price.

I almost didn't get Iron Man 2 for $10 yesterday. The cashier told me it probably won't work, but it did and she looked surprised. I had already been there 2 separate times so I knew it was going to work. I'm probably done though, I don't see too many movie titles out there that I'd like to get.
Is this coupon good on season box sets as well for DVD? Saw Monk seasons for $14.99 might pick up some of I can use it.
What part of any. . .

Just left BB a bit ago and very happy. I managed to get the KINO blu-ray of Metropolis for only $10 with the coupon; definitely the lowest I have ever seen it. Also got the South Park movie with slip cover for $7.99. :D

I grabbed the Complete Metropolis blu-ray today as well. I'd never heard of the movie until fight_the_youth posted it earlier, now I can't wait to see it - thanks!

Yes, it works. I just bought Monk season 6,7 for $9.99 each after coupons.

make sure if you are buying royal pains, covert affairs, in plain sight, or psych, the newest seasons of each, there is another coupon that you could be using. picked up seasons 1 and 2 of royal pains for 15

Considered picking up Doctor Who Series 6 Part 1 for $14.99, but I can't see myself buying the barebones version of the first half and then coughing up the $75 or so for the full series plus all of the extras I'm dying to see. I mean, I'm only holding on to "A Christmas Carol" because some of the extra features on that disc sound like they won't be included with the full series set.

Has anyone else decided to actually bite on this one?

SyFy Channel is one of the worse offenders at this trend, as they've done it with Eureka S3 and S4, with 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0, 4.5. Caprica was another one, and there's still no complete season/series set for it. Stargate Universe did a 1.0 and 1.5 release for their first season, though I bought the complete S1 for the price barely more than 1.0 or 1.5.

There are quite a few music/concert Blu-rays currently on sale for $15, but they don't work automatically with the coupon (not at all a new development). (FWIW, I picked up Stevie Wonder: Finally Live, It Might Get Loud, and BeeGees: In Our Own Time.)

I was at customer service doing an online pickup and was able to get an override with a little bit of patience. At first the manager who was called over to perform the override said they didn't qualify because they were already on sale. When he'd left, I pointed out to the CS clerk that the BeeGees disc *wasn't* on sale and didn't work w/ the coupon but one of the other movies I bought *was* on sale but did work. Somehow he managed a different kind of no-manager-required override.

Yeah, I'm still going to wait until the full series set is released.

I know it's probably just due to airing of the series being split up, but I was surprised to see that they've actually started releasing split-up Doctor Who series on disc here in the US... that used to be a UK only thing. Then again, the previous barebones DVDs (and the Blu's for series 5) from the UK only had 3 or 4 episodes each and only had Dolby 2.0 whereas this set actually seems to have video/audio that will be pretty much identical to the Complete Series 6 set that we'll probably see in early to mid-November.

Nabbed Dr. Strangelove, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind and the original Casino Royale for $9.99 each w/coupon. I also picked up Scot Pilgrim to see what all the hype is about :).

there is no store that has Metropolis - AC3 Dolby Limited by me, ugh! Can the coupon be used if I order from their website? Or does anyone have the ability to pick a copy up for me?

Got lucky tonight and picked up Metropolis and Iron Man 2 with the Captain America cash.

Didn't expect to find Metropolis so that was a nice find.

If you picked up those seasons of Royal Pains for $15 total, then I'd like to know what coupon you mean. I'm interested in the fifth season of Psych.

Otherwise, if you mean you got them for $15 each, you could have gotten the first season for $9.99.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found what you meant--If you buy any two season sets of those shows together, you get another $10 off. It's too bad I'm only interested in just the one season of Psych, as that's a pretty good deal.

I hope these prices will stay in effect for a little while longer, at least through the end of the month, as I'd love to get both the aforementioned Season 5 of Psych and Season 8 of Monk (to complete my collection) with the $5 off coupon.

Finally picked up 13 Assassins for $12.99 after coupon. Looks like they restocked, though I think the sale price ended yesterday.

If you're having trouble finding Metropolis in-store, check the 'C' section of movies. The full title reads as "The Complete Metropolis", so it was stocked under 'C' rather than 'M'.

I'm going to try to pick up The Source Code, The Blues Brothers and Metropolis tomorrow using the coupon. I haven't tried using the coupon 3 times at once yet. Have most people had no problem buying more than one at a time?

I've bought two Blus at a time before, just did separate transactions for each. No problem from the cashier.

Only problem so far was once the cashier didn't want to scan the coupon because she said it wouldn't work because the Blu I was buying was on sale. I told her to please scan it anyway and she acted surprised when it worked.

Is $10 after coupon a decent deal for the Forgetting Sarah Marshall blu/dvd combo? The blu is $10.49 on Amazon, which is all I really want, but if either regularly goes lower then I can wait.

I want to get Unstoppable and Source Code, but lately the local best buy's have been shooting me down with these coupons and they are technically correct by the fine print. Oh well it was a good ride while it lasted.

I went with 1 coupon last week and tried to use it on two and it wouldn't work. I asked the guy to do it in seperate transaction and he had no problem with that. He gave me the coupon back when he was done saying, "We just throw it out anyway... use it as much as you can."

Definitely a good experience there.

This is cool, I still have qualms about the prices of some Blu-Rays. Saw A Nightmare On Elm Street (remake) Blu-Ray in HMV yesterday for £30/$60. Be fucking serious.

If you want it right away, it's an OK price. However, the Blu-ray only version was $10 a couple of months ago (before the combo came out) and included $10 movie cash for Bridesmaids. So, if you can wait (possibly indefinitely), you may get a better overall deal down the road.

Thanks for the info, but I decided to get it anyway using the coupon. I assume that if it does go on sale anytime soon, it won't be for much more than $5 off and I'm not going to worry about $2 or $3 difference. Plus I just had an urge to buy a movie, so that itch is scratched.

Some options to look at for other movies in the new re-releases that are the BD / DVD / DC options like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which end up being $10 AC. Options are:

American Gangster
Pride & Prejudice
Backdraft
Knocked Up
Serenity
Darkman
The Last Starfighter
Van Helsing
State Of Play
Alpha Dog
Wanted
Hot Fuzz Ultimate Edition

perhaps a dumb question, but is a pre-order considered the same thing as a special order? I only ask because I would love to pre-order eastbound and down season 2 and apply the coupon to snag it for 9.99

Finally got around to watching Hobo with a Shotgun. Awesome movie.

I guess I'm done with the coupon. I'm a bit tapped out on cash at the moment and won't be getting paid again until the first. It was a good run though. Got so many good things out of it.
