Best Buy Upgrade & Save - Now With 100% More Wikification!!

How does it work?
Trade in ANY DVD (except for porn, you weirdos) and get a $5 off coupon towards any Blu-Ray priced $9.99 or above.
Yes, ANY DVD - this includes things you bought at the Dollar Store, individual discs from compilations or TV shows, and ex-rentals from Blockbuster (RIP).
Cases and artwork aren't required, but it definitely increases the acceptance rate if you're bringing in disc four of Sanford & Son's third season.

Wait, that's it? There has to be more to it, right?
Well, not really. It's pretty simple.
Step 1. Trade in DVD's for $5 off coupons.
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Profit!

The usual FAQ/tips/etc.
Coupons are 1:1 - for each DVD traded, one coupon is given.
Coupons don't have to be used at time of trade in.
Coupons do not stack with each other. No combining U&S coupons for $40 off of the Star Wars box set.
Coupons MAY stack with price matches, manufacturer coupons, and current Best Buy promos. YMMV, ya know?
Discounts are taken from the selling price of the Blu-Ray $9.99 or higher. $9.99 becomes $4.99, $12.99 becomes $7.99, and so on. $4.99 Blu-Rays are still $4.99 though.
Coupons are B&M only - must be redeemed in-store.

Since this is a wiki post now, feel free to add in suggested titles (I prefer those $9.99 gems or sale items that become $4.99 after coupon, but to each their own) down below.

For a pretty comprehensive list, go here -> WV Matsui to the rescue! You should all give him a dollar.

Buy both. Maybe the one you don't open will have some trade value later on.
Eligible U&S titles in next week's ad include all Star Trek feature films.
Just so I don't assume

does this include Star Trek (2010)? (the one with Chris Pine)

and at 9.99 pre coupon?

Picked up:
The Sitter
Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Rings
Lord of the Rings the Two Towers
Lord of the Rings the Return of the King
Limitless
came out to $10.55 after 5 coupons, $15 rz, and 6% sales tax

Had my sister pick up:
The Green Hornet
Paul (FYI: has ultra violet and free tickets for Oblivion)

I got Paul also but I first redeemed it on iTunes and got Paul Unrated SD then I went to the website listed on the insert and choose Vudu and got Paual Unrated HDX on Vudu. I did this back to back if that matters. The insert said the code expired on 1/27/12 but Universal must of have reactivated the old codes automatically and gave HDX Vudu rights.
If you don't already have it, Inglourious Bastards is $4.99 after coupon as well.
I hate it, but I'm allergic to Tarantino.

Thanks, for the heads up I like UV / VUDU cause my ps3 has vudu and vudu and uv accounts have been linked

I just can't bring myself to pick up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. They had the three pack on sale for $10 during the last U&S, but pulled all of the copies off the shelf until the price went back up.

I know number 3 is horrible, but it's the principle. ;)

Couldn't find Firefly at my Best Buy so I went for Lawrence of Arabia ($5) and The Prestige ($5). I'll just wait for Firefly to be on sale during the summer or Black Friday like it usually is.

Includes all of the original films as well as the 2010 version (now with lens flare!).

$9.99 pre-coupon, $4.99 after.

Are any of these going to include movie cash for Darkness?

Well, I used all 7 of the coupon I had stocked, now to find more movies to take in.

good news, may end up hitting silver if ps4 has a fairly cheap launch price. 350 with a game I would possibly bite.
Are any of these going to include movie cash for Darkness?
would be nice if the 2010 version one did
I'm going to see if I can find this at my local store and, failing that, have an employee use the SKU to check other stores' stock: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dragon-...u-ray-Disc/6639844.p?id=2327149&skuId=6639844

Three Jet Li movies for $4.99 (Fist of Legend, Fist of Legend 2, and Tai Chi Master) after coupon would be pretty sick.
Fist of Legend 2, didn't know they made a 2nd one. I thought it was The Enforcer or something as the 2nd movie in that pack?

Picked up:
The Transporter/Transporter 2
Training Day, John Q, The Pelican Bried
X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Wished they had Inglorious Basterds at my local BBYs, but no where to be found...
Got Total Recall for $13. Eh, I'm a sucker for cyberpunk. ;)
Debated on getting it, I'm just too cheap. Would grab that and Dredd for cheap though!
Debated on getting it, I'm just too cheap. Would grab that and Dredd for cheap though!
I would grab Dredd for sure. Total Recall, idk. If it were 5-10 maybe.

I'm pretty sure the current versions of the Incredible Hulk don't have a UV copy. Probably a digital copy (if you get the 2 disc version), but no UV. Incredible Hulk came out before UV. However, according to Amazon, a new version is going to come out on June 25, 2013, that will have the UV copy.
Are any of these going to include movie cash for Darkness?
That I don't know. It's unlikely that they're going to be replaced with movie cash, but it's worth a look to see. Wouldn't surprise me though.

Also coming out next week - Seasons 1 & 2 of Friends, available for the first time on Blu. $14.99 each after coupon.

Picked up The Goonies, Attack the Block, and The Protector. They didn't have THX 1138 or Doctor Horrible, those were the only other two $5 movies I was looking for.
Does the ad show a price for TNG Season 3 on Blu?
Looks like its 70 and alot of people are mad over it cause its cheaper at Target.

Also seems like Iron Man 1 & 2 will be $5 after coupon, idk if thats been posted.
Does the ad show a price for TNG Season 3 on Blu?
$69.99, so $64.99 after coupon. In case you're wondering, Best Of Both Worlds is $16.99, so $11.99 after coupon. If you buy them together at Target, it's $64.98 for both.

Woah, really? I didn't know they were doing a bundle deal. That's very tempting, 5.00 would be my price to get Best of Both Worlds.

I'm shocked they aren't matching pace with Target. It's been a long time since I've tried a PM plus coupon at Best Buy. Is it worth trying or will the register not even allow it?

I price matched amazon.com during the last upgrade and save sale but I think it required approval from a lead cashier or higher. I had trouble the other day buying a Blu-ray with the movie ticket and using the Upgrade and Save coupon because the register wasn't lowering the price automatically.

I only ended up with three yesterday. Attack the Block, Lawrence of Arabia and The Raid: Redemption, all $5 after coupon. The nearest BB with The Sandlot is in West Virginia, so that's going to be a no go for me.

Just to confirm, do they take pre-viewed Blockbuster DVDs in the cases from Blockbuster? The terms and conditions say they must be in the original case.

Where in WV?
Where in WV?
Wheeling, I think. I really didn't pay that much attention. Probably the one by the big Cabela's in Triadelphia. That one always seems to have the harder to get stuff, and I don't go out that way ever anymore now...

Damn. I'm in the Easter Panhandle. I would have picks one up for ya!

Yesterday I picked up all of these for $4.99 each after coupon:

Heat
Inglorious Basterds
The Mask/Dumb and Dumber
The Waterboy
Reservoir Dogs

Not a bad day! :)

Got Amazing Spider-Man in 3D and The Other Guys. I'm considering the Tarantino ones that are 9.99 but I already have all of them on DVD and the special features aren't all that different from what I have. Although I have Inglorious Basterds and Django on BD so that kind of throws off the collection.

Coraline 3D $14.99
Meet the Robinsons 3D $14.99
Titanic 3D $14.99
Amazing Spiderman 3D $14.99
Jurassic Park 3D $24.99

I priced matched Titanic 3D (34.99) too Bestbuy.com where its $19.99 and STILL got the coupon.

I think this is a very impressive haul for 3D movies since each one goes back to 34.99 next week-ish, but the double edge sword is...for some reason there is ALOT of Best Buy Slip Cover Thieves. Drives me absolutely bonkers, you see them all on eBay, and in STACKS at a time.

This weeks haul

Waterboy
Stand by Me
Inglorious Bastards
Attack the Block
Days of Thunder
Jack Reacher preorder :)

Picked up
Blade Runner: Final Cut
Insidious
Frighteners Director's Cut ( this was supposed to be online only, but there it was in the Oblivion fandango section, was $6.99 after coupon, but I love this movie so it was worth the extra $2. Had to get a manager to take the $5 coupon off because it wasn't doing it automatically like it should have).

You can use the $5 coupon toward a pre order?

W/ manager override. Going to try to double dip on it come release day. Might work... Who knows!

I know this has probably been asked... but do these coupons have exp dates? I was thinking about trading in 5 or so DVDs, but not sure if I will be able to find 5 blurays I want this week.

From what I recall from the past ones they usually just run to when the promotion expires.

My store (May's Landing, NJ) had a bunch of WWE PPV Blu's on a cardboard endcap for $9.99 each ($4.99 after U&S). Went all out and got SummerSlam 2012, Extreme Rules 2011, Elimination Chamber 2011, Royal Rumble 2011 and Hell in a Cell 2010. They also had a few more PPV's including WrestleMania 27 and 28 for $9.99 as well.

Going out tomorrow for another haul at a different BB than my usual one for hopefully a difference selection.

I hope my stores end up doing this as well. Anyone else wanna confirm this or is it YMMV?

Customer service rep didn't even open my DVD cases, just counted them and printed up the receipt with the coupons.

Ended up getting Smallville Seasons 6 and 10, Falling Skies, RE Retribution, and Knight and Day.
Bestbuy.com shows about a dozen WWE blu-rays available for $9.99. These seem to match the ones listed above. Hopefully they are available in-store for anyone interested.

WWEDVDNews.com is also reporting this sale. However, I went to one of my Best Buys today and they didn't have this display. In fact, they really didn't have any wrestling stuff anymore (save for the new Mick Foley DVD/Blu). I'll check the other one in town soon, that location is usually better stocked.

Anyways, picked up Attack The Block, Spawn, The Protector and The Losers/Rock'n'Rolla/Shoot 'Em Up triple-feature for like $23 total.

I have a few stores near my work, rep at the first one examined each disc pretty carefully (but didn't deny any). The rep at the second store asked how many I had and gave me the coupons without so much as looking at the stack.
