...the new MKast show there's promise a bit more now. Seems like they are changing the button setup, in terms of naming, similar to Tekken's. If you don't liek talking though there's alot of good MK footage spliced in about what they talk about.

For all you NorCal heads......MGL has SSFIV: AE setup as of last night. 1 H2H.

Problem? SVGL also had 1 H2H cab, but one of them broke. From the talk going on over at Pac North forums on SRK, they are expecting a 2+ week delay in getting the cab fixed.

Sooooo....

MGL= AE + long ass wait + entire NorCal player base

SVGL= AE + I luvz playing the computer (1 cab) + trying shit/changes

A lot of my friends went out to MGL last night. Said the wait was about 1 hour + with 35-40 people there.

Well, I did buy a PS3 for T5 DR and VF5, didn't regret that until they put VF5 on 3Shitty with online play. :cry:

Virtua Fighter is probably the best game that no one plays. Real talk, it is a very good game with a great fighting system.

Street Fighter IV (and it's other iterations) are fucking stupid. Even the people that play it and gain fame from it will admit to that lol.

I sunk a fair share of hours in to VF4 and VF4:Evo before I decided that the game wasn't for me, as I could not get into the mechanics or appreciate what the fans call "depth". Give me Tekken, Blazblue, any incarnation of SF since SF2, or MvC2 and I'm set. I also would take any of the early Samurai Showdown games over VF; potentialy Fatal Fury. Maybe once you start talking about Art of Fighting or DoA does the VF series start to look attractive to me.

Maybe add MvC3 or MK9 to that -- jury's still out on both. MvC3 probably has a better chance of being really good, even if I hate the roster. ;)

not for me was my way or politely implying that I think VF4 was not a good game. but everything like that is pretty subjective.
maybe I was playing it wrong. maybe the tutorials just suck. maybe the general engine is just not something i can appreciate.
either way, it always felt to me like a slower, boring imitation of the Tekken series (after playing Tekken 2, around the time of VF2/3).
I think I tried VF4 because I loved Tekken 3 so much and at the time VF4 came out, the only Tekken on PS2 was TTT and I'd played that to death and wanted something new.
after not really vibing with the game's fighting system, hating the tutorials where most moves were too simple or too complex, I tired of using wolf and spamming hammer throws and lariats and the like, since he was the only one who felt anything like I thought he should, I traded the game back to EBgames. several years later, they released EVO at the $20 price point with the new characters and whatever -- I got it and tried to get into it again and was disappointed again. shame on me.
