Nice, you had a real easy time with that battle.  I struggled with it a bit, got it on the fourth try with an odd comp.  Comparatively I'd say this was a much harder GHB than usual.  It really required a couple fliers or horses and some repositioning. 

I was going to try to save up orbs for future banners but my will broke again yesterday.  Spent about 50 orbs on two rounds of summons on the Battling Camus banner and got both an Olwen and a Fae, which is cool.  I'm done with brides, although Caeda would be nice.  Really just want to pull some reds for Vantage and blues/colorless for DB3 while hoping for a Y.Tiki. 

I now have two dragons with really weird IVs.  +Def / -Atk Nowi and the same on Fae.  Technically they should be salvagable, but we live in the times of one-shot only arena.

I am satisfied with GHBs if they require more than 1 attempt for me to figure out, which this one did. I tried it a few more times and found success with tharja and Azura replacing beruka and subaki, but difficulty when slotting in nino and Olivia.

I think we can say that you are beyond salvation.

It's a good time to be a dragon. I haven't seen any Marths, lucinas, chroms and alms in arena in a long time. Julia is still prevalent.

I finished up my deathless streak today. I thought I fucked up in the last match, but it turned out to be a funny moment.

haha wow, nice one.   Yeah I don't know why Ryoma is so powerful when his defenses are so low.  But I didn't expect that to happen.  You might be movin on up to rank 19 next week with that score.

My arena deathless streak if anyone is interested. didnt put too much work into the video. 

I'm already a lock for tier 19. Next season is gonna be a dogfight for tier 20. Top 30% of the 5000 players moving into tier 19. so top 1500 score needed. However we don't have to compete with the people whom are currently in Tier 19, which is about 2000 players, so if we use the previous ranking system, next seasons tier 19 peeps would need a top 3500 overall ranking score to bust into tier 20. I'm ready to fight for that spot.

 
So I went ahead and did a few more rolls yesterday to try and get Bride Lyn......didn't get anything good, so I probably should have saved the orbs.  :wall:

In other news, looks like they just announced the new event.  Tempest Trials.

Looks pretty challenging. They are those types of maps that were hinted on, where if a unit falls they will not be able to be used in the following battles. Kinda like a multiple stage Arena battle setup.

The rewards look good too! They showed off a 5 star Masked Lucina. Can't wait to start this Thursday!

 
In order to achieve the high score for the masked Lucina I'll be reading some walkthroughs and stuff before taking a chance of losing any units.

Also I got zero arena defenses again this week.

You can reset it and get all your units back by completing it or losing entirely. I expect it's going to be a big stamina dump though with maps costing 20 each. Yeesh they finally give us a fun daily event and we can only do it 5 times per 100 stamina. To be fair that can be up to 35 maps.
Also lucina is a cumulative score reward if the announcement images are anything to go by

Zero defense even with your horse team? We had that godawful two walls map in the rotation as well, which heavily favors the horses.
 
I am trying to force my way into tier 20, with skill optimized only for scoring rather than performance and man I'm getting wrecked. These defense tiles don't hurt me rather than help when I'm against these whale teams.
 
For the love of god game, don't match me up against +7 ninos and reinhardts just because they have low bst!
 
Spent another $40 today.   Did four summons.  Got a Y.Tiki.   I now have Y.Tiki, Fae, and Nowi all at 5*s all with +Def -Atk.  Going to try to make it work with spurs and hones I think. 

still haven't seen Vantage or Deathblow. I feel like I"m taking crazy pills. 

Really not excited for this event either.  I'm expecting it to be hard and take up a lot of time and stamina.  Even worse would be giving everyone a free Lucina =/  But I think it's going to be harder than people think.  They are having a 5* reward for the very first time.

I can only hope it's harder than people think. I'm hyped for it. I'm just hoping it's something fun to play everyday, you know, the kind of daily content I have been saying the game has been lacking. It's not going to be nearly the same kind of time sink as the voting gauntlet since it uses stamina, which is good. I want it to last, but not take too much time, two weirdly contradictory things. Hard to be upset with them giving us a 5* lucina as reward when they've given us monsters such as Xander and Camus, and most other GHB ain't too shabby either.

Well tempest trials aren't insanely difficult but they are challenging. So it meets the expectations I had hoped for. If they have this as a monthly event then it significantly improves the content in the game since literally the only thing to spend stamina on before was training tower, but now youve got an event with tangible rewards to strive for. Plus the best rewards aren't locked at the top of the rankings so it's fair to everyone. But orb rewards aren't anything to sneeze in addition to all the hero merit(though I'm using heroes with maxed merit). A very good addition to the game.
I would still like replayable GHB and other special maps for rewards though as their is a charm in challenging as specifically designed map rather than a randomized one.

Yeah I guess this is what you were asking for all along.  I guess it's kind of cool.   Seems like a giant grindfest that I need to participate in so I can try for the 50k reward. 

I've only tried two runs so far.   Got 450 points and one team died on the second highest difficulty.  Then cleared the hardest lunatic and it took me FOUR teams and I got a score of 493.   It's going take some tuning my teams but I will probably just continue to clear it on the 2nd or 3rd difficulties.   7 rounds is too much and their HP just scales too high.  I also might just stop after getting Marth. 

I like how my characters gain SP while doing the trials.  But you have to use your best units.  I'm also still stuck with the same old problem of having lots of level 40s that aren't built properly and are missing key abilities. 

It's a lot like arena in the sense that you could build the perfect team if you just had one more character in a fifth slot.  I think I need to use a healer when I play.  Unless you just magically have a team that takes zero damage.   My Lucina is almost built correctly, but I need another 200 SP so she can inherit ardent sacrifice. 

I guess it's kind of cool that event was a way to make healers viable and to shit on "Fury on everything !!!" players. 

 
My Linde with Aura, Life's Breath, and Ardent Sacrifice has been doing a lot of work in tempest trials, haven't needed to have a healer.

Also, does anyone know what the skill Quickened Pulse is? It's the 50k score reward in Tempest Trial, and I have no clue what it does.

Be ready for the deluge of first turn moonbow reinhardts. The insufferable prick gonna get a whole lot more annoying as he has just eliminated nino from his counter list. People might have to start running sacred cowl(not that that's a bad thing. I like the defense special minus their lack special quotes)

Not going to lie.  There was a lot of luck involved.  I may not be able to repeat it much, if at all.  This was actually the first time I didn't lose at least 2-3 units on the Veronica stage too.  I literally went deathless.  Even though you can lose 3 guys and still get top score. 

We'll see how the next run goes.  But I'll probably do a lot of the 5map lunatic still.  I'm just going to aim for about 5k points a day since I hate grinding.  I'm not very good at this stuff.

It's probably since I'm not using a healer in my main team. I should probably mix things up.

 
Clarine has always been a part of my Cavalry team, and they're doing most of the heavy lifting for me in Tempest.  I'll run into something screwey occasionally, but they are usually good enough to clear 6-7 maps.  I also didn't realize that CuteMarth has no skills other than her weapon.  Looks like she's going to require an awful lot of SP.

Oh, I pulled a Takumi from the Bridal Banner yesterday as well.

That can't be right, you don't even need to be Full SI to do the early maps since a matter of using the weapon triangle to your advantage. The enemies are usually spread out too so you can target them in the order you want

Farming the Tempest Trials is taking much longer than I first thought.... I'm not even at 3000 points yet.

Maybe I should consider spending some time leveling up some mages I have.

That's fine. Arena is just whatever. Especially during these two weeks.

I'm 4,768, scorin scores I had two months ago and dropping back down to rank 17. Don't really care. Not going to waste SP on shitty inherits just so I can sit one tier higher.

We have more important stuff to do right now like score 50k in Tempest Trials. I'm up to 22,364 and trying to get 5-6k a day so I can finish in nine or ten days. It's a stupid grind but I want the seal and then I will quit cold turkey. Hows yours goin?

Definitely do that. 2 mages and a dancer is ridiculously strong in the tempest trials. Give them both drawback and desperation, if they're fast, or triangle adept if they're slow and just blast through the stages. Almost of the maps are very mage friendly. You can see my video to see easy it is.

I am on track to get the 99k reward. I am trying to consistently win with Roy, Narcian, nowi, and mist. I've only had 2-3 runs where they made it to the end though. Once i can secure wins more easily, I switch up the team again
 
Stocked up $100 in orbs. Got caeda and Cordelia in 10 pulls. Time to pull out.

Reinhardt is the man.  Probably the best unit in the game right now.  

If there weren't Gacha laws in Japan or whatever, he or Dire Thunder would have been nerfed back into the stone age by now.

I had 13 orbs. I grinded out the rest of my June orbs for one last bridal banner pull.  Got 20 orbs, pulled two stones, found another Charlotte.  Down to 11 orbs.   Wanted to YOLO again.  Finished my new story maps for 9 more orbs to get to 20 again.  Pulled the whole summons, and got another Charlotte and a Titania.   My mind is blown.

New banner looks pretty shitty to me.  I do need to pull a bunch of reds though so it wouldn't be a bad time to snipe for Vantage.  Katarina and Athena seem kinda cool but who needs red swords or red mages?

yeah, just playing around with the summon simulator, you have no business doing anything but sniping reds on this banner.

game gave us 12 orbs so I decided to yolo pull again.  no reds to snipe.  so pulled Jeorge on first try instead.

Used 133 orbs. Got Athena, Katerina and 5* caeda(same boon bane as what I already have) I only wanted luke...

you don't see to care about boons and banes that much.  Is that one of your peeves? 

I like the mindset of "you gotta roll with what you've got", but having certain banes really cripples most units.

The chance of you pulling a 5* character more than once is incredibly low. Best to not get hung up on it. A strong character will remain a strong character.
I'm still quite elated to get the perfect IV thoigh
 
Had 70 orbs, wanted Katarina but ended up getting Athena.

The problem is this banner has 3 Reds in it, so that made it even harder to get the character I wanted lol.

I can't afford to buy orbs this time, so I'll just stick with Athena and continue focusing on the Tempest Trials.

 
As I keep plodding through Tempest, I'm reminded every so often that perhaps I would rather have two of the same 5* unit instead of making a single +1 one.  Seems like every so often a stray Wings of Mercy/Dancer/ Other shenanigan pops up and I find myself wishing I had a spare ___ to put on my next team.

 
Well I got slaughtered in arena last night harder than I have been killed in many weeks.  I faced the exact horse emblem team I intend to start using.  Camus, Titania, Cecilia, Xander.   The team was so incredibly effective.   I won in the end with one unit left but I'm positive there were have been no way to win without losing at least two units.  These guys were all built the right way.  I wish I would have taken screenshots of his setup; I wasn't thinking.  It was the two bridge map, they had a couple repositions, and I didn't stand a chance.  That team is just so incredibly well-rounded and I think three of them had TA3. 

Red green green blue, but no Reinhardt.  There was no way for me to hide my Ephraim.  Actual Distant Counter on the two melee horses and the two mages obviously have it as well.  In this blue-heavy meta I see them being effective against every team.  I just got my one defense for the week, and I have determined the issue is definitely getting very few matchups from BST ratings.   This fully inherited horse emblem team popped up for me at just 680.  Saw Camus as the lead and figured what the hell.  I hardly ever opt out of a fight, but I had just opted out of Eliwood lead.  There will probably be a lot of Camus leads starting next week.
