Fire Emblem Heroes: Choose Your Legends!

I was at 68 orbs.  Then last night I caved with a very weak will.   Even though I wanted her badly I first dismissed the notion because "I'll just get her when she's on the legendary banner in a few months".   Then I realized there would be only *one* opportunity to get her after this week until one whole year from now.  You two gave me the inspiration that I needed.

Fjorms abilities are incredible.  Pulled crappy -spd +res but don't care.  I hardly ever go at a new heroes banner with a few orbs and have success like this.   Was disgusted with myself for breaking into the orb piggy bank until Fjorm showed up when I had 24 orbs left.  But I'm back down to 5 orbs now and the next legendary banner is 10 days away.

Part of me wants to save hundreds of orbs to try to go for Saber+10 on week 14.  Have you guys seen how ridiculously OP he is with his Golden Dagger refine, Special Spiral, and then something like Bonus Doubler or Atk/Spd Solo 3?  It probably makes him the best +10 front line bruiser in the game.

His stats would certainly be ridiculous. That’s a ton of investment into a red sword unit though. I’d personally rather throw all those orbs at a legendary banner that has 3 really good units in the same color pool. Like when L!Marth, L!Ike and L! Roy are all there. At +10 L!Roy has 13 more BST, L!Marth has 10 more BST, and L!Ike has 7 more BST. So even with the extra stats from his refine Saber only does a little better than 2 of them. The fun thing about saber is nobody has him built. I’ve never seen him in AR or Arena.

Plus, we’ve got CYL coming soon, so it may be best to save for that. Those units are always really good. I’m saving for the July Legendary banner to pull for L!Alm and Eir merges. I just hope the 3rd colorless unit is good.
 
That's true.  L!Roy and L!Marth are two of the best units in the game.   L!Marth is certainly my favorite unit.

Yeah the novelty of having Saber is what interests me.  Like you said no one has him.

That's very smart of you.  July's banner looks absolutely loaded with 8 legendary units confirmed so far. 

 
Used some feathers and grails today. Made my second +10 (Reinhardt). The tenth merge was pretty much unnecessary statwise, but it felt wrong not having him maxed out.

I also bumped Xander up to +7 and will stop there for awhile. I still want to hang on to my grails for skill inheritance.
 
I'm making my very first attempt at T21 in Aether Raids this week.   Everything is going smoothly so far.   -20 yesterday, -0 today.  Offensive scores of 140, 160, 160, 160, 160 so far.  Should be good to go if I can get a little help on defenses for just another day or two.

Nice! Good luck making it through. I’ve come close a couple times but still stuck at T20.
 
You know what I hate about AR more than anything else? You can't just ignore it for a week because you'll always reset at the bottom of the next tier down if you do.

Edit: I just lost 8 straight fuck ing AR fights. I am 100% fuck ing done with this mode.

I think it’s awesome we are going to get Byleth for free! It makes me feel a little better about possibly not having many orbs to spend on the TH banner when it drops. Between that, the July Legendary, and CYL3, it feels impossible to have enough orbs.
 
I've mentioned before that I use Tempest Trials to mess around with either new units or units that I haven't done much with yet. For this one, I've been using og Laegjarn, Kjelle, Reyson, and bridal Fjorm.

You were absolutely right about Fjorm. Ground Orders combined with the flying dancer gives a lot of mobility to Kjelle. I've also been pleasantly surprised by Reyson's passive heal, refresh, and mobility.
 
So who is pulling on the Three Houses Banner? I’m tempted, but I’m going to try to resist. F!Byleth looks really good but I have plenty sword units. Dimitri would have been more tempting if he was infinity and Claude would have been better as a flyer. I really hoped IS would have given Claude CC.

I also think the post time-skip units will be better.

I can’t believe we are 1 week away from Three Houses! Can’t wait!!!!
 
Yeah I dunno it's going to be hard.  I've been trying to stay disciplined and save orbs for the Legendary banner.  But I might have to break and spend them on Three Houses banner instead.  The characters are just so cool. Haven't spent a single orb on summer waifus or anything else.  There are like seven fucking banners at once.  So you have to pick carefully.

I'd really like some L!Marth merges, some DC fodder, and to see what the upcoming new mythic hero is going to be.   There are already at least 8 leg heroes on the July banner, all seven which will be dupes for me.  But anyone else should be pulling for L!Alm if they don't have him.  Plus I believe CYL heroes appeared in August during each of the last two years so really everybody should be spending on that banner only.   Those are the new Brave units.  The last batch was insanely powerful.  (I still don't have a Veronica.  funny how choosing free B!Hector haunts you for one entire year later).

It's all so overwhelming.  I'm trying to not think about the game much and just save.  Of course we all want summer babes and of course I wanted to try for Tibarn.   All this discipline and I only have 108 orbs to show for it.  Haven't pulled anything interesting for awhile.  But there are THREE huge banners coming up: Mythic, CYL3, and Three Houses 1. 

This free Male Byleth tie-in is just a reminder to me how Nintendo never sent me a code for Piranha Plant DLC for Smash several months back.   I need to dial someone.

I was going to, but I just spent the 23 orbs I had getting a second Summer Laegjarn (+spd/-res). Part of me wants to merge the two, but I'll probably just hang on to the second one to use for SI. That way it can sit in my barracks forever while I never commit to a unit to use it on.

SS3 is sooo good. You should save it for L!Alm. It obsoletes Darting Blow 4.

 
I keep dreaming of a day with SS3 L!Alm, along with Joint Hone Speed, and then a way to make him sustainable with some healing.  Maybe an all colorless team with Veronica caddy using atk/spd solo 3.  He is incredible; just not sustainable.

YES!! It’s so hard with so many banners!

I just reached 900 orbs (I have been saving since L!Alm’s banner. I have decided I am only spending on units that are ‘game changing’. I have way too many 5* that just sit unused. It’s so hard right now with so many amazing banners! I really want to pour them all into this legendary colorless pool if it’s Alm, Eir, and Cainigus to get as many merges of them as possible. But, I also feel like I should wait until CYL. Those units are always great. Too many banners and not enough orbs!
 
Wow Male Byleth is going to have Creator Sword, Ruptured Sky, DC, Chill Spd and odd spd wave. That seems really good for a unit I'm going to get free for doing something I had already done back when Prime still gave 20% off games.

He looks really good and I love that we are getting him for free! I can’t wait to find out who the Mythic will be, and what color they are. Certainly IS won’t make the mythic colorless with Alm and Eir...that would be crazy!
 
more DC please.  I want to build Zephiel.

I was skeptical before but M!Byleth sounds awesome.  I think that people are overrating F!Byleth.   There are so many good infantry swords and I don't know that her Null C-Disrupt prf puts her in the top tier even though it is awesome. 

For instance, no one uses Nailah, or Kaden.  not really.   Units need a good statline, and some combination of a good Prf/DC in order to be top-tier impactful.

Have you guys decided which house you will join on Three Houses? I kinda like the idea of pulling all the colors except red on the TH banner and joining the house of whichever unit I pull. I just don’t know if it’s worth spending the orbs to do so.
 
I'm trying to steer clear of spoilers on FE3H, so all I've done is watch the "meet the _" trailers and I'm conflicted. I always like magic users in fantasy settings, but Edelgard might as well have just said "Pick me, I'm the girl one!" I'm thinking I may go with the Golden Deer.

What do you guys think the chances of getting Chill Def and Chill Res seals are? I'm trying to figure out a B slot for S.Laegjarn outside of Flier emblem and don't want to waste 20k feathers and then get a ChRes seal. I do have a spare Mist, and was thinking about Res Feint as well.

welp my free summons was comprised of 1 green and 4 colorless.   I took that as a sign from the loot gods to save orbs.

Absolutely nothing out of my free summons or any of my free tickets.

Trying really hard not to summon on this banner. I like the characters, but the units don’t seem worth spending orbs on.
 
So, this is a little bit humblebrag, but mostly I'm just shaking my head at it all. I've gotten three 5* green units out of the three houses banner so far.

Rhajat, Helbindi, and F.Dreamweaver Corrin. Helbindi's new, and the other two fix banes I suppose. I just can't help but think how much better three Edelweisses would have been.
 
Dude Edelgard is soo cool.  Want her badly, but I'm not spending. 

Love the art, love the usable axe infantry stats, incredible passives.  She should be very useful.   On the bright side, these units should get plenty of reruns and inclusions in legendary banners.

I wasted 80 orbs trying to snipe on red and so far nothing yet. I'm not even sure why, since none of these units are game changer.

Not pulling on any other banner unless it's for free or a Mythic/Legendary banner.

So it's been a long time since I paid any attention to my infantry pulse team. It was Marisa, Summer Xander, Nephenee, and a rotating nuke. It was ok, but had a lot of issues.

But after summoning Helbindi and looking at Kronya, I think I'll have to revisit the idea. Helbindi is much better than SumXan, and I like the idea of smiting out a Close Counter Kronya with a turn 1 Growing Wind and savage blow/def smoke.

That’s a very good idea. I never really made an infantry pulse team, but I may need to consider doing the same. Kronya looks really interesting. I wish grails weren't so hard to accumulate. Using them to build a unit is such a huge investment, I’m always worried that as soon as I finally commit to one, a better unit will be released.
 
Is it just me or is male Byleth a bit underwhelming? I have only used him a bit with his base kit in Forging Bonds, but he just seems pretty meh. I feel like DC is wasted on him with his low RES. It’s too bad because his sword seems so useful.
 
regular units are always going to be pretty meh when they have that much invested in middling speed.   I think he's a decent infantry bruiser.  But red sword is competitive.

Though it's clearly stated in the description, I didn't realize that Mordecai's weapon debuffs enemies around BOTH him and the person moved. He may wind up being my Kronya Smiter

Yep, Mordecai is really fun to use. He’s awesome in Grand Conquest. Have him shove a tank into the middle of a bunch of enemies and watch them crumble. I thought he would be good on AR defense, but the AI sucks too bad to utilize it properly.

The last few days I was thinking about how to do anti-meta anti-dragon effectiveness for dragon teams.   She has built-in DC, adaptive damage, and anti-dragon effectiveness.  Which means that she even has her a)slot open.  Sirius is speedy Aether and its awesome; the problem these solitary units = solved.  Sothis is the perfect Mythic hero.  Check out that attack animation wow.

She looks really good and you know her BST will be high. This banner is ridiculously stacked. I was planning to throw all of my orbs at colorless but I really want her now and could certainly use some DC fodder. I also need some Special Fighter fodder for my +10 Surtr and Cainigus, but Lyn is bringing Green down a bit, imo. I’m definitely going to be spending my stash on this banner!

Red + colorless all the way. Sure, I'd like Lector fodder, HS!Ryoma, or Greil. But Sothis is a must. Caineghis too.

I already have 4 of the 6 units on red and colorless so this could get disappointing fast! But really I'm just shooting for some merges.
