Quick opinion poll. I need a smallish bedroom TV. Should I go with a 23" widescreen hdtv or a 27" standard def set for 48% less? High definition isn't a huge selling point for me just yet as most of my library is still PS2, but I've got a healthy amount of Xbox and (soon to be) Wii games that support 480p and the 23" set will give me roughly the same 4:3 picture size as the POS TV I've been limping along, so it's not as if I'm really losing anything with the smaller one except a little more money, but if I go with the 4:3 [CRT] set I'll have something to serve as a monitor for legacy systems [since 8/16/32 bit consoles mostly look like dongs on HD sets] when I get something bigger in the next couple years. Thoughts?

If you already plan on buying something bigger in a few years I'd go with the cheaper SDTV for now. Plus it seems most of what you'll be playing is current gen stuff and the Wii, anyways.

I just realized why I left CAG in the first place: a bunch of sexist men running around calling women bitches and treating them like tools is not one that I liked happily coming to every day. And uh, it looks like you guys haven't really changed all that much.

And I'm almost certain I told you that no, it's not a bunch, it's a handful and that you should get a thicker skin if internet people upset you even a little. Do you recall this? I'm pretty sure it was you, but there've been a few other people who complained about the same thing, I wager.

If it was, we were talking about different subjects. No, I don't think you ever did. And it's more than just a few; almost all threads that have some relation to women, say if I want to scan them, I can find at least a dozen insults, PER PAGE, on how skanky/retarded/stupid/bitchy/cranky women are, or how some women is, that they don't even know, have probably never met in their life, and probably will never meet in their life, then proceed to call them bitches and make sexist jokes, or talk about how much "better" men are in comparison. It's fucking DISGUSTING. It's like some intense competition for who has the biggest e-penis and can be the hugest fucking asshole when talking about women to sound cool.

10,000 women every year are the victims of domestic abuse. What do they all have in common?

They don't listen.

Too bad they are automated. You could have fun with the staffers by telling them you were a gay phone-sex operator. Then tell them you'll record the phone call and send it to Dateline.

Though I've only heard Monothest and bits and pieces of To Mega Therion (grabing that now). I honestly can't wait to see them live. I'm sure that this will probably be one of those once in a life time tours that they come to my area too.

Why do you let it bother you? Especially on the internet for that matter? Those guys are never referring to you specifically; just the women they've dealt with in life in general. The people you're most friendly with are the OTT, and I haven't seen any of them treat you that way. Sure, there's jokes, but that's all they are.

I never understand why anybody gets upset over insults over the internet. If someone called me something, I'd call them something back most likely, sure, but I wouldn't take it seriously. My day would be no different. It'd last two seconds and then it'd be over.

So, so, wait, let me get this straight. Say I make a thread that says, "UGH, BLACK PEOPLE," And then talk about some experience I had with an african american guy that robbed my house. Other people, white people, come in, read it and go, "that's fucked up, that stupid fucking n*gger should be shot", and then start making black jokes about them, talking about how poor or whatever they are, socially inadequate, whatever it is. Say that this thread was posted in quite often, referred to a lot, and then it soon caught on, so at least half the members on the site were now posting around jokes to it, too. You're saying that absolutely none of the african american people would have a right to complain about it because it's the "internet", and it wasn't specifically directed towards them? Whether or not it was directed towards me (and I've had a few, but that's for another discussion), it's still offensive as fuck.

Celtic Frost put on an awesome fucking live show.

I wonder, if black people steal things, and women clean things, do black women steal vacuum cleaners?

Dammit I hate Target. Bought 5 canisters of formula two weeks ago for $20. They were reduced to $11. 'We can't price adjust clearance items' fuckwads. My wife is going to try and do a return/rebuy, but I know those bastards are going to try and deny it or not let her buy them.

Sweet to hear that they do. Take it that you saw them when they played near you? Hopefully it won't be like when we saw Meshuggah. Jens Kidman was just standing there, half the time with a foot on the amp at the front of the stage, scanning his head back and forth like he were trying to be the terminator. It was annoying...

And Sneaky, what do you call a black woman that has an abortion

Yea, I saw them with Sahg and 1349. Celtic Frost played for a looooong fucking time (like 1:30 long). They didn't run around much, but god damn did they have power thrashing about on stage. One of the best shows I've seen.

Race and gender are two entirely different things, although I see your point. Replace "African American person" in your example with "Men in general" and I highly doubt any guy would take offense to it. I've had to deal with plenty of people of a different race on XBL who don't like white people or have said whatever to me, and I just call say something back and move on. It's no big deal to me and I don't take offense.

Its not really music to be running and jumping on stagte like a nu-metal moron to. And tonight its just Goatwhore as the opener and Celtic Frost as the headliner. I expect at least an hour and a half show

I don't agree with that stuff either. I just make liberal use of the ignore list. It really makes things a lot more enjoyable.

I have said numerous times that the whole "it's the internet" or "internet, serious business" jokes are BS. Everyone has seen posts that infuriate (or else there would be no bannings of anyone) and telling someone to simply have thicker skin is only one part of the equation and free pass to dumbasses. While I don't let too much bother me, I never forget who the good guys and bad guys are. I'll go out of my way to help, whether it is with sig images, a funny post, or just taking someone seriously. I remember a topic not too long ago where someone wanted a sig and people did nothing but shit on the guy. I was the only one who actually tried to help the guy out and it made a difference. The insulting posts slowed and the new guy hopefully felt like a part of the community after I helped. Not everyone thinks citizenship is a big deal, but I don't take it lightly regardless of the site I am on. Most of the assholes on CAG contribute absolutley nothing to the site and if you put them on ignore, you won't miss anything important. In actuality, CAG's forums are pretty tame compared to gamefaqs or ytmnd (this one is absolutely dreadful).

Do you have to be listed as a party affiliate to vote in primaries? I don't remember too clearly, but I am pretty sure that I have to be registered as a party member to vote in a primary (though I think I can vote in either primary).

Plus judges here are not listed by party affiliation and they send me a list of who all I should vote for.
