Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

So now that we have a listing of what works to trade going from GR -> EB, I suppose the next thing to figure out is what the best approaches for going back from EB -> GR with the $5 trade-in promo are.

Here's a start of things that might be good to check to see if the values have held since the last time that the GR wiki was updated:

PS2

Ace Combat 4 - $10 - 6/9/06 $7.99 EB/GS
Auto Modellista - $3 - 6/10/06 $4.99 EB/GS

Star Wars: KoToR - $7 - 4/4/06 $7.99 EB/GS

Checked out the 2 GR in Blue Springs MO tonight with credit burning in my pocket, I only have a PSP and PS2 so I paid attention to them so here are some notes...

N 7 Hwy picked up..
Timesplitters for $5
FIFA 06 for PSP for $7.50. The first FIFA is the same price so I was thinking they mistagged, but the price dropped from 50 to $30, so I paid 1/4 that.
They had a ton of games in 2.50-5 range that I didn't know enough about to buy, so I am going to scout tonight...Project Snowblind, Killer 7, Atari, etc..
The games were behind the counter and there was a table in the middle of the store that I'm sure is reserved for them.

S 7 HWY
SSX On Tour $5 - what I went out for in the first place(besides HSG:FORE)

I did notice they had the Donkey Kong thing w/ Bongos for GC for 11.25

Also, picked up a can of air to clean keyboards with, they have it marked down to $1.60 or something like that, same with screen cleaners. For any local PSP owners, they have 1 NYKO Charger case left for $12.50.
Pick up Killer 7, I got it for gamecube a while ago and after playing it I wouldn't have minded paying 30 or more for it.
The GameRushes on the other side of the bay are picked pretty clean. I didn't start looking until 1pm, and when I made the rounds everything good was already gone. I'm bummed that I missed the game/bongo combos at the Gulf-to-Bay location.
I picked up Donkey Konga 2 with bongos at the enterprise/mcmullen booth one 10 minutes ago. They still have a Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with congos though, I already have it and it's a really good game if you haven't played it yet. At the same one I also picked up:
Mr. Driller DS (last one)
Viewtiful Joe 2 (gc, they had 1 & 2 for the ps2 though I noticed)
Goldeneye Rogue Agent DS $7.50
Max Payne 2 (I want to play it on my computer but I got tired of looking for it)

There were some copies of Polarium and Goldeneye still there. I didn't pick up Polarium, is it any good? I figure with all the DS games I've picked up lately I'm set with Advance Wars and what not. The copy of Riddick that they have had there for the xbox was gone though, which was the reason I went.
I scored:

DS:
Mr Driller $5
Feel the magic $5

Xbox:
Xbox Live Starter Kit w/ Crimson Skies $17.50

Awesome score on the live kit. :D
My GR has feel the magic and sprung. Are these games even worth that? These seem like the kind of games a 15 year old would play cause he can't get chicks.

WOW! I live in Blue Springs, MO! I didn't think there were any CAGs around these parts. Heh. I hit up both of those stores tonight, and made quite the haul. I posted my swag a bit earlier in the thread. Anyhoo, where in BS do you live. I live right behind BSSHS.

Ok i just went to my Blockbuster to pick up games...

Xbox remote rang up $30
Mario Sunshine $20
Zelda Windwaker $20

Are these suppose to be on sale?

Those Gamecube titles are regularly reduced priced $19.99 Players Choice games. No, they aren't part of the sale!

During tonight's trip to my 6th CC, where I finally found the one game I was looking for all this time (Drill Dozer!), I went ahead and picked up a bunch of trade fodder. Drivers, Combat Elites, and Exit's. (Quoted $18 for Exit.) I completely forgot that Getting Up was a valid one, too. Since we're not totally sure the Atari games' values will stay up come tomorrow, maybe I should have just waited until Friday when I could use the $15 off $100 coupon. After all, I seriously doubt these particular games are going anywhere. But I was just so eager to get a DS Lite...

Are you incapable of reading the list of sale games?

it would be bountiful if CAGs felt inclined to disclose any games they have purchased or price checked from this sale that aren't on the list - there are some good ones that have not been noted on the OP for whatever reason (no slight intended SW) and it would help burn GR credit like a gasoline and dynamite weenie roast..

I scored:

Mechassault 2 Lone Wolf - Xbox - $5
Tom Clancy's Triple Pack - Xbox - $5 (listed on OP)
Atari Collection - PS2 - $5 (listed on OP)

and earlier from the 50% off sale:

Star Wars - Bounty Hunter - PS2 - $10 (i assume $5 now)

saw and didn't get:

World Series of Poker - PSP - $10

A couple I tried to get but got wacked prices:

THUG2 - PS2 - $19.99
MAT3 - PS2 - $14.99

I was like WTF. Occasionally you get lucky and the CSR doesn't act like he had to use his grannies bloomers to wipe the transaction clean of unwanted merchandise.

I bought my second DS lite a week ago from GR. Now I changed my mind, if anybody needs it, please shoot me a pm. I can take your GR gift card for the cost and actual shipping fee.
Those Gamecube titles are regularly reduced priced $19.99 Players Choice games. No, they aren't part of the sale!
Oh ok thanks, these weren't player choices though...
Are you incapable of reading the list of sale games?
Wow....You don't have to act like an ass...
My GR has feel the magic and sprung. Are these games even worth that? These seem like the kind of games a 15 year old would play cause he can't get chicks.
My wife likes them. Feel The Magic was popular enough to get a sequel (Rub Rabbits). I played that one for a bit and the mini games are fun and make decent use of the touch screen and microphone. A fun diversion for $5 and if you have a wife/gf then she will probably dig it. I believe I paid $15 for my used copy at Gamerush close to launch. My wife liked it enough to have me on the lookout for a cheap copy of Rub Rabbits.
Oh ok thanks, these weren't player choices though...

Wow....You don't have to act like an ass...
Yes, both were players choice. Regardless if they had a cover or not, they are $19.99 MSRP for a reason.

Next time check the OP. It lists all the games so far that are on sale. Even the thread title says 'select games'.

Anyways,my bitch list tomorrow is

Nyko Charger Case
Leisure Suit Larry XB
Dynasty Warrior PSP
Gripshift PSP
Viewtiful Joe 1/2 Cube
Killer 7 Cube

Everything else is bleh to me.

I picked up Phantom Dust for $5, Psychonauts for $7.50, and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat for $10. I have other things saved cause i work there.

Thanks again for the heads-up on Jungle Beat. I actually went to that location earlier today, but didn't see the bongo set. Now that I think about it, they keep the big boxed stuff at the desk there, and I totally forgot to look. #-o

When I said that Pinellas was picked over, I meant a lot of the better stuff like Bomberman DS, Metroid Zero Mission, Riddick, MegaMan Anniversary, Psychonauts, etc. were gone. I had seen all of those right before the sale started. They're swimming in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Goldeneye DS, though.

I'd probably skip Polarium; it's an okay game, but there are enough good puzzle games on DS now that you've got better options.
I have them and they're really fun, especially for the price.
See Neocisco his mom had no problem buying them for him. She's hoping sprung helps land him a girl. Its the guy game and playboy she denied him on.

JUst a question.

Was anyone able to grab any new/used accessories at 70% off today? The employee I talked to was pulling down all the "50% off acessories" signs and said that the sale on them ended yesterday.

Also, does anyone know how much SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom(xbox) gets for trade at GR?
There's a copy in the glass case at my local GR marked at $24.99, and the price recently dropped to $9.99 for it used at Gamestop/EB. If the trade value is decent then that may be a good addition for the GR trade deal.

Hmmm, didn't know they had Zero Mission there, I actually don't recall seeing it there before the sale but I probably didn't look too well. I bought Bomberman DS for $15 at Best Buy a while ago and think it was worth it, it's pretty fun. The bongos are at the bottom of the glass case that the psp games and stuff are in.

Nice nice. The prices on GBA/DS games are really good. But w/ 11 pages of posts, I may be late to the party to find anything decent. I went to at least a dosen or so BB's when they had the 50% off used sale and ALL I could find from all visits was like 1 maybe, 2 games. That's a lot of misses for me so I stopped checking them out when I saw more BB"s.

Wow, some nice prices there....I may check a few PSP games. I may get Psychonauts for XBOX if they have it also (hoping it becomes BC eventually)
it would be bountiful if CAGs felt inclined to disclose any games they have purchased or price checked from this sale that aren't on the list - there are some good ones that have not been noted on the OP for whatever reason (no slight intended SW) and it would help burn GR credit like a gasoline and dynamite weenie roast..

Thanks for letting me know some I missed. I'm working on updating the list with the newest prices and I'll try to add any games that weren't originally listed while I do that.
JUst a question.

Was anyone able to grab any new/used accessories at 70% off today? The employee I talked to was pulling down all the "50% off acessories" signs and said that the sale on them ended yesterday.
the only blockbuster I went to yesterday had taken all the accessories in the %50 section and put them back on the shelves, but with new price tags reflecting %75 off now. The tags were made with one of those pricing guns, so perhaps its YMMV and the store did it themselves.

The stores actually have to use the pricing guns if they go through the trouble to reprice because they have no stickers that just say $5 or $$7.50 or $12.50 etc. I heard plenty of bitching about that at the BB I went to yesterday.

Who's gonna be the guinea pig for the trade-in deal today?

I'm also anxiously awaiting the trade-in values for Getting Up and Driver: PL.

I'll be heading over in an hour with both of those games (as well as a few others). Will be sure to report back on prices!

Well I had some luck yesterday. I picked up:

1x GC Mario Party 6 bundle - 12.50
1x PS2 MGS: Snake Eater - 5.00
1x PS2 Psychonauts - 7.50
1x PS2 Beyond Good & Evil - 5.00
1x PS2 Shadow Hearts Covenant - 7.50

I did notice 2 Live Kits but they were not marked.

I also noticed 2 ( Wario Twisted GBA marked 9.99 regular tag no blue dot)
Anyone know if those had dropped?

I think someone had mentioned earlier in the thread that WarioWare Twisted was just a regular price drop.

I'd also mentioned a page or two back that the Live kits do indeed ring up at $17.50.

I had to change my subtitle to Broke Ass Gamer due to the latest CC and GR drops. Anyway, here is what I picked up last night.

DS
Polarium $7.50

Gamecube:
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes $5
Killer 7 $5

PS2:
Mega Man Collection $5
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater $5
Rumble Roses $2.50
Viewtiful Joe 2 $3.75

Xbox:
Dead Or Alive Ultimate $5
Chronicles Of Riddick $5
Psychonauts $7.50

I think I will go back and pick up Sprung and Feel the Magic due to comments on here that they are worth $5. Plus, I will probably give them to my wife.

PS has anyone found any wavebirds or Logitech wireless controllers at 75% off? I forgot to look at the accessories.

First post is updated with the current prices that I know. I'm in the process of adding the games that have been found that aren't on the list right now.

Edit: Okay, I think everything is in there. If I missed anything, just let me know and I'll add it.

Happy to share the following:

Driver: Parallel Lines (XB): $16

I think the odds are good that PS2 and Getting Up will follow suit.

And great for me:

Phantasy Star Online 3 (GC): $6

Only paid $7.50 for that one a few months ago and it sucks ass. Shockingly, the girl I talked to (seems the ones during the day are more knowledgeable) asked if I knew about their deal when I asked. She said there were no restrictions on games that qualify, so I'm thinking as long as the system doesn't reject games, it's gonna be YMMV on if that 7.99 limit is going to be enforced.
The PS2 section says Logitech Wireless Controllers....are these the cordless action controllers, the badass ones?
That would be the ones (along with the XBOX version) -- still no confirmation on whether or not they're included in the 75% off.

Is that the price with the extra $5 ?

My god, that would be nice....and the Wavebirds too. Guess I might go hunting on lunch.

EDIT: Technical question....I used the store locator and the store that's right near my place didn't show up. It's been there for at least a few months (that I know of). Any reason for this? Do certain types of stores not show up?
Is that the price with the extra $5 ?
Nosir... just over the phone quotes. That's why I'll be happy that I can get $11 (bonus included) for the game I paid $8.05 for and hate. Combine that with my two Atari games and that's $53 credit off $28 cash.

I just called one of my GameRush stores for quotes:

$24 Flatout PS2
$19 Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge PS2
$19 Haunting Ground PS2

Those are before bonus, of course. It looks like the prices held. :D
I picked up Phantom Dust for $5, Psychonauts for $7.50, and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat for $10. I have other things saved cause i work there.
Do you work at BB or Gamerush...anyways, I just wanted to ask you a few questions regarding GR policy if you know...some jerk manager at my local GR who always has a power trip always tells me he can't give price quotes over the phone and that they don't accept game unless it has the original box, manual, etc...then I go to another GR near my friend's house....they are cool as hell, took my games even w/o the original box and always gives me price quotes over the phone...so I asked the manager at the "cooler" GR if its policy only to accept complete games...and he said NO, they take them even w/o the box and manual...so I'm wondering, does it vary from GR to GR?

P.S. If this has already been covered before, sorry about the redundancy.
I picked up a GIGANTIC stack of games at my GR. Some for me and the kids, some for my brother-in-law, and some for EB/GC trading. Since they were repricing things with actual price stickers ("$3.75", "$5.00", etc) I figured I'd better get what I wanted NOW. I grabbed lots of stuff that looked promising for trade-in, but I really have no idea and some of it I might return (they shouldn't be too uptight about that, especially after I cleared so much shelf space for them today!).

The DS Harry Potter Goblet of Fire that I had been waiting and waiting on apparently got sold right before the sale started. If anyone can snag one of those I'll trade for any other $5 clearance GR game - just check with me to see what I have or can get. I guess I should have bought it at $10, oh well...

Good sign - Manager says the sale is to make room for PS3/Wii games.

Bad sign - Kid comes in, fresh off school being out, with his disposable summer cash, and wants to buy New Super Mario Brothers. GR, of course, does not have it and only ever got 2, one of which was my preorder. On the plus side, some other kids (with their disposable summer cash) bought a Shadow of Colossus + guide. That's the first time I've ever seen a guide sold there :D.

Plus they managed to unload alot of their old shelf-sitting clearance crap to some guy from CAG :D

And, please, let's keep the moralizing to a minimum about people hoarding for themselves or EB trade-ins - this stuff has been sitting around for, what, 3 months now at 50% off? And in the last 2 months it has barely been touched. Anyone who really wanted game X would have picked it up at 50% off.
In other words, I probably shouldn't even bother to go to the GR in Wilsonville ;)

So, what old shelf-sitting clearance crap did you get? :bouncy:

Awesome, was running some errands this morning so I figured I could squeeze in a trip to BB. More thank makes up me missing most of the second half of the Brazil/Ghana game.

Managed to snag the following:

XBX Project Snowblind $2.50
XBX Psychonauts $7.50
XBX Star Wars Republic Commando $5.00
XBX Xbox Live 12 month Starter Kit w/Crimson Skies $17.50

The employees were actually really cool and were in the process of moving around the clearance stuff. Kinda makes me glad CC pulled their clearance games since I probably would've spent most of the budget on that if they hadn't.
