GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (as many are doing) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to. If you do get banned from GameRush for scamming them, don't bitch about it. Otherwise, I will be forced to make fun of you.

I'm not too worried. The game is actually kinda fun, just a bit on the SLOW side. Not TOO slow, but not fast enough....

I have like $300 in credit, but all from legit trades....I've read lots of people getting flagged, but I have NOT abused the system. I may trade it in when I get two other games I don't care for. Although, my GameRush was pretty picked over (although they did have the new MK, but I traded mine in....sucked)
 
Some stores won't let you return once it's opened period. Some will. If you use the return policy like a rental service, then that's not good. But, if you just bought a game and it didn't turn out to be what you expected, then you should be able to return it. They just send it back, more than likely.

So, Doubledown, give it a try and see what happens. Worst case scenario you are in the same situation as you are now. Best case you get your $$ back or more store credit. Can't lose a thing if you don't try.

He doesn't want to return it, he wants to trade it in.

I talked to my GR manager yesterday and he said we won't be taking PS1 games for the 3 for $10 deal anymore. I tried to argue that th eprinted material said they were included in the trade deal and he argued with me. He is the manager, so he wins. It really is a non issue at our store as he said he will still accept the PS1 games as part of the deal. But I just wanted to let you all know that the wind seems to be changing. Also, when I tried to find the printed material ( flyers for the public and employee only material as well ) that had PS1 in the fine print I was surprised to find out that th eGM had destroyed it all ! Sorry guys, this party seems to be over now. Also, I have no idea what the next deal will be, any other GR employees get wind of anything yet?

That, and the printed materials state that he maintains the right to amend the terms of the deal if he wishes.
Of course, arguing with him doesn't do any good. Most of the Store managers of the Gamerushes I go to are glad to see me, and often will pull out a stack of newish games that they just got and think i would like.

Well, that was expected. Everyone has been dumping thier extra PS1 games, and been starting to pick up cheap used PS2 games.
While ~25 dollars for a ~50 dollar game isn't bad, it isn't as good as ~16 dollars for a ~50 dollar game. Even with purchasing PS2 games, it's still a good deal.

I've personally had no problems with that whatsoever. Just a few weeks ago I traded in a copy of Mortal Kombat: Deception that I had gotten from them a couple of weeks before and played. The manager and I had a whole conversation about how I didn't like the gameplay compared to Soul Calibur II and VF4 and found the excessive blood to be cheesy. He actually even mentioned how I was getting a good deal anyway because I got the game with the T3G1 for 10 bucks deal and was selling it back to them for 30 bucks. It might be YMMV, but all the locations I go to have pretty much the same great service.

Damn, I should be packing for my trip(leaving in 1 hour) but checking CAG is just too addicting...
 
No such problems here in Highland, Ca. Ps1 games are welcome at the local.GR. Traded in Ape Escape- $2 Um Jammer Lammy-$1 and NFL Gameday 2001-$1. Also for Xbox, Fight Night 2004-$14. Ended up getting Mario Golf for GC. Also, plenty of those flyers in the store.
 
Just a quick find for DFW GameRushers...

The one on Western Center in Fort Worth has a used Nintendo DS for $139. It's at least the second used one I've seen there, so if you're really hunting, try calling and ask them to hold it for you.

yea be careful when you do that. I went in and saw 3 PS2 games selling for 9.99 each i wanted and though Well i got Hot shots 4 in the car that they will give me 20 for. Went in traded it and they gave me a nasty look when i took 3 games up and say " I want to sell this game to you for 20 and get these 3 9.99 games for free)

Im shocked that they have some great games out there for 9.99 (14.99 for gamecube games dont ask me why)

3 gamecube games im thinking of grabbing are

Animal crossing
Sonic heroes
and another gamecube game all 3 would only = 26 bucks...

will wait till sometime next week to see if they put out new stuff.. Then again might go back tomorrow cause you know people be looking for movies tomorrow will wipe out the 9.99 games

I saw a bunch of DC games at my GR being clearanced for $2-$5 as well. I'm hoping to see those kinds of prices for the GBC and N64 games soon.
 
yeah the one on pettit had great selection of PS2 games for 9.99 yesterday smackdown hctp, jak 2, madden 05, ncaa football 05, samurai warriors, sonic heroes - but went back today all gone- so u pretty much have to get them when you first see them
 
N64 i could see getting clearanced soon...but considering people can still play thier GBC games (up to DS) i think they could still sell them for quite a while

I'm not sure why they didn't like you trading in HSG4 and getting those games. Sounds weird to me. :?

No kidding. I would think they'd love to get some older, slower moving stock of thier hands in exchange for a new title that's likely to move off the shelves at the price it currently is.
 
The New EGM has a coupon in it (page #122). Same deal as last issue. Get a New game for $39.99 when you trade in 1 game with coupon. (GC, Xbox, PS2 and GBA) Not valid on PS1 games. Expires 1-15-05.

(the issue has a Call of Duty ad on front, the real cover has MGS 3, MP2, Halo 2 and GTA on the it)

Kinda odd experience at 3 GR stores today.

I tried to trade in 3 games one of them being GTA for the GBA and they refused it saying the computer says they cant take it as trade. So i cancel everything and take my games to the next GR up the street. Again this store refused GTA GBA assistant manager was asked to change it by the GR person telling them it's a newer and good game but they refused. So i traded in the other 2 and got a new game that i'd been searching for anyway. I make one last effort to trade at the GR about 8 miles up the road and AGAIN it's refused. The GR guy at this one argued with the night manager about how it should be allowed blah blah blah she said no. He told me about how their system is funky example they'll take old Marios all day long for the NES but wont accept any final fantasy or highly wanted games that your grandma wouldnt recognize if you mentioned the name. They won,t accept the new NCAA 2005/Top Spin 2 pack but they do accept the sega gt/that spraypaint game 2 pack and the tetris/starwars 2 pack. YADA YADA YADA...

Guess i'll see what i can get for it at those other game stores i used 2 use.
 
For whatever reason, I have had problems trading in GBA games at Gamerush as well. Their buyback list does not have every game listed for whatever reason. My past attempted trades for Boktai and Sonic Pinball Party were both refused due to the game not being in their system. I'm surprised GTA is not in their though because they do sell it new....
 
They wouldn't take Boktai from me either. There was one other time that they didn't have a new game in their system and I was surprised, but I can't remember what it was. It was funny because they sold the game new, but wouldn't take it back cause it wasn't in their system. Do they sell GTA for the GBA new?

man i forgot about the one on pettit . though they closed years ago. the jefferson one is a joke nothing at all in the 9.99 range
Coldwater is cleared out (cleaned most of it out last week )
Maplecrest one (mostly clean. Again got most of the stuff 3 weeks back)

I might run to them a few times this week to see if they restock. since i got around 250 bucks credit left at the store. ONe thing is funny though my cousin got banned from one of them from flipping games to the same store. I was like dude there are 4 stores why in the hell would you return the games to the same store.

All of my local GR's have sold GTA on the GBA new. Just letting you know.

They should, because I saw some PO copies and new copies over at my GR's...

GR doesn't accept "disc doctored" games. Which is pretty stupid because once I bought a copy of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance PO from a BB, which was disc doctored when I bought it... but nope, they can't accept disc doctored games. :roll:

So I took it to the Movie Trading Co. and got 3 bucks cash for it. A good deal considering I beat it ages ago and it wasn't doing much sitting around.

Mine would not take Day of Reckoning (WWE) for the GC, weird, they sold it, and it is a new game

Also, any word on when new deals will come in or what they'll be? I'm still not thrilled about the current promotions.

You'll likely be dissapointed. I doubt the trade in promos get any more lucrative than they are now. Unless they drop back to a trade 2 get one for 10, I think we've probably seen the best that we're going to get out of Gamerush.

Thanks for the note on Paper Mario, SJ. Yeah, I guess the current deals aren't so bad. But not like the old days (which was what...two months ago, hee hee).

Anyway, for my latest scheme, i'm going to trade in fable for $30, and get Shadow Hearts:Covenant for $40 and use a $10 gc i got from my co worker. So, it won't cost a thing.

Sometimes the trading and scheming is funner than the games. I think I have a problem....
 
I also agree that sometimes, the scheming is funner than the games. On the subject of flipping, you usually don't make that much credit anyways. Most would make more money by simply WORKING. I think I may have a problem too!

This problem can occasionally be avoided by just taking the disc/manual to them as long as the disc doesn't have PROMO written on it.
 
I picked up Metal Slug 3 for Xbox. That's for when I actually get an Xbox. :)

Def Jam Vandetta (GC) = $8
NBA Street 2 (Xbox) = $7
Virtua Tennis (GBA) = $5

I paid $4.99 for both VT (at TRU) and Street 2 at CC with the glitch. Don't know why I bought Street 2 anyway, so I thought I'd trade it in for something I actually wanted. Oh, and I'd got Def Jam for $15 at TRU a few weeks back and thought it wasn't that fun. Not to mention the constant disc reading noise it makes during gameplay. Makes me want to turn off the GC and smash the game. That's EA for ya'.

The game of the week deal has been updated on the gamerush website... next week is the new WWE game, and the week after is Goldeneye. and this week is Ghost Recon 2.

Too bad i'm not interested in any of those. I probably should have bought POP when it was featured.
