Got more than I should have, but they just kept adding up, haha.  Got a few of them for some family as well.   So here is the haul:

PS3:

Super Street Figher 4

Tiger Woods 10

Resistance 2

Rainbow Six: Vegas

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Guitar Hero 5

XBOX 360:

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

PGR4

Operation Flash Point: Dragon Rising

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2

Bulletstorm

Dragon Age Origins

Medal of Honor Airborne

Wii:

Madden NFL 10

Namco Museum Remix

Had a bit of credit so I gotta it all for $42.  Not bad really.

Went to 3 diff gamestops looking for complete games I wanted.

Found one that had nice cib copies of resistance 2, killzone 2, and red faction.. As the guy is getting the disks out I see him pull out a beat up resistance 2 greatest hits case, that I didn't want.. He put the case I brought up aside and brought the others forward.

I said I don't want the greatest hits case, he acted confused and looked in his drawer again - I pointed to the case he set aside away from counter and said I want the one I brought up.. He accomodated and I left with my games..

When I open resistance 2 I see he took the manual out.. Obviously really annoyed , can't think of much reason the employee would do this other than to screw me out of what I intened to purchase

I swung by two Gamestops today and picked up six promo games plus one extra:

*Heavenly Sword :ps3:

*Resistance 2 :ps3:

*Chronicles of Riddick :360:

*Lair :ps3:

*Singularity :360:

*Socom 4 :ps3:

I also picked up Resistance: Fall of Man :ps3: for the regular price of $2.99.

All but two games came with manuals (Lair and Resistance 1). I managed to get all the games in their original cases (no Greatest Hits red cases  :whistle2:o), and most of the discs either had no scratches or only a couple small nicks that shouldn't affect gameplay. I treated my PS3 as a glorified blu-ray player a bit too much these past few years. So this sale was a nice opportunity to add a few more PS3 titles to my backlog.

I typically avoid Gamestop like the plague. My last visit there was when the Jack and Daxter collection was new for $10 in June. And it was sometime last fall before that visit. I hate getting hassled about pre-orders (I know they have to get numbers, but I almost never pay $60 retail for anything), and it's usually three or four times that I have to say "no" before I finally pay for my merchandise.

"Would you like to reserve Madden, today?"

"No."

"Would you like to reserve the new Assassin's Creed?"

"No."

"Were you interested in any other games coming out?"

"No."

"Okay, your total is..."

*I hand them my money and PUR free card*

"Would you like to upgrade to the Pro account?"

:bomb:  :wall:

"...no thank you."

But today, I went to both stores and I got a simple "Would you like to reserve any games coming out?" No hassle about upgrading to a Pro member PUR account (which I was SERIOUSLY considering, since I was spending at least $20 today anyway) or additional questioning about preorders. I was genuinely shocked by both transactions...in a good way. I'm definitely digging up my receipts from earlier and completing the surveys.

I may make another trip this week. I saw Wanted and Bourne Conspiracy, but they had generic cases with no manual. For $3 apiece, I may pick a third title and gamble on complete copies stowed behind the counter. I might also bite the bullet on a Pro PUR card this week, since I didn't today...and I have a feeling there will be another 50% bonus trade in promo before the new consoles. In the 7+ years I've dealt with Gamestop, I never thought I'd see the day when I actually WANTED to give them my money.

Played 30 seconds of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and wanted to throw it away -___-
Amen! I returned it next day

On a different note, I was disappointed today to find the Killzone 2 I picked up yesterday won't boot up and keeps showing the 80010514 error.

After googling, I tried restoring file system, rebuilding database, wipin down the disc to a mirror finish...nothing worked. Every single one of my other PS3 discs play fine, with no hiccups or anything, so I doubt it's my lens drive.

I think I'll be swinging by GS tomorrow to exchange it for another Killzone 2 copy. Hopefully they don't hassle me.

For all the people that hate on gamestop about preorders and stuff....wait until you buy a car. Gamestop is amateur hour and not that annoying.

Really thinking about Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the PS3, even though it is disk only at my local Gamestop.  I have LP:EC Colonies Edition on 360.

I picked up Wii Play awhile back, but my Wii wouldn't read the disk.  It was weird since my Wii was able to play whatever else I threw at it.  The scratches on the Wii Play disk didn't seem that bad.  Is it possible my version of Wii isn't compatible?  I have the Wii that came with Mario Kart Wii.

Maybe I'll get Dream Trigger.  Not having high hopes, especially given the price.

It's probably due to the lens being dirty. Happened to mine also.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Heavenly sword are must buy for any action fans imo, although Heavenly Sword is pretty short and tries to be like god of war at times but failed!

Played 30 seconds of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and wanted to throw it away -___-

I'll be throwing mines back to GS. O:)

I have to recommend operation flashpoint in this sale. I just picked it up and didn't like it at all initially. They pretty much just throw you out there with no real instruction. but once you pick up on your commands, the friendly ai is not bad. Plus you can die in a single shot, which makes it pretty realistic and actually nerve wracking at a lot of points.

Yeah, the allied AI is much more superior to COD ones.

As I was advancing to the lighthouse, I got hit by a bullet and fell to the floor bleeding, while my team spotted the enemies and proceeded to kill them all, then they all came up to the side of my dying character to announce they had cleared the area. and then they all crouched around me in defensive position while he died. :wall:

Adding to the list, I'll be returning Medal of Honor back, the game won't play at all.

I love how some people have this crazy mindset that COD is what being in the military is really like? I mean none of that stuff happened when I was in. My sniper buddy wasn't quick scoping around FOB Anaconda and my buddy that got blown up in a IED sure as hell wasn't having is health respawn. That's why I liked this game because it was more realistic to what a combat situation is really like.

I love hearing these kids online like talk like they served and know what it's like. :dunce: Give me a break.

I like the fact that your AI let you bleed out. Classic.

Eh, I was making fun of the allied AI behavior that ian13 was talking about not being bad at all.

IGN's review is pretty accurate, you do end up dying in embarrassing ways. :fridge:

All I remember is me trying to reserve Xenoblades and over half the time, "they couldn't track it down".

How can you lose a $90+ game that likely was traded in yesterday? Xenoblades isn't the only game either I have tempted to reserve.

Went through my emails, and I definitely was being kind when I said 60% accurate:

41x - Your item is ready for pick up
32x - Your Hold Request could not be fulfilled

I definitely don't want my money to be tied up that often if Gamestop theoretifcally goes the Best Buy route.
odd... i have about 20 hold requests with 20 confirmed.

One of the GS reps at my most local store has mentioned that her particular Gamestop has many cases where games go missing (and wishes she could transfer to another store and not deal with inventory related headaches). Even so, most of my requests for games were for Gamestops NOT at my most local Gamestop... >___>

I feel like a noob asking, but what is the best way to remove that sticky residue that those stickers leave on the cases?
I second this comment, I have two cases that I couldn't get the stickers off without leaving a bunch of adhesive. I've been told that nail polish remover works, but I remember someone telling me it would ruin the case

I use googone/vodka/hair dryer depending on what I have available.

Just picked up: Mass Effect 2 PS3, Dragon Age Origins PS3 and Wanted PS3. Traded Wanted Ps3 in for 9.xx to Amazon, so basically got the other two for free. :)

We had this discussion a while back, I have a "proven to work" technique without using goo gone or nail polish. It goes:

1. Wash thoroughly with hot but not boiling hot water

2. Rub with dishwasher liquid with the yellow scrubbers you get at Costco, use the yellow side and not the green side. Apply gentle pressure when rubbing.

3. Dry, you will still have some leftover adhesive, use heavy duty shipping tape that you use when reselling games on eBay (I use the ones from Costco), use it like a waxing tape (tape firmly, then be fast when ripping away).

Repeat 1-3 if necessary.

I picked up 6 games for just under 20. All PS3

Army of two

Chronicles of riddick: AoDA

Medal of honor

Resistance 2

Socom 4

Super street fighter 4

Not a bad deal. good chance to play some older titles, collect some trophies.

I've seen people in other threads suggest Goo Gone. I've never used it, though, so I can't really back it up.

Goo Gone is the simplest and easiest way to remove stickers. Cost only a $1 for a 3oz bottle. Use a q tip and rub it on the sticker. It does work like a charm. Just started using it a couple of days ago. :D

I picked up Singularity in the last GS sale and finally started to play it. I cannot recommend it enough! For $3, it's a steal. Just thought I'd post this for some people looking for a 3rd game for the deal.

I use goo gone. It's very effective. Just dab a little on the stickers and let it sit for a couple minutes and the stickers come right off, no residue. Remember to take the art insert and manual out first though, otherwise they might get damaged. Sometimes I use a little rubbing alcohol to get the extra goo gone off afterward, but water works just as well.

I like lighter fluid and Q-tips. Works great for me.

Yep! This game is a blast and it sucks it got swept under the rug for most gamers. Had to re-buy this one again.

Honestly, you only really need to use step 3 most times to get the residual adhesive off the cases. There's no need to scour and scrub them. As long as the stickers on it aren't those really old small square sized EB Games stickers that I think they must've used Crazy Glue for the adhesive backing. Most times you can get the newer stickers off completely without leaving behind residue if you just slowly peel them up.

The trick is getting a corner started on them in order to start peeling it off. Once you have the sticker off though, you can use the sticker itself to get any leftover glue off the case most times. If that fails, use a piece of packing tape. I've found it works best when I use a piece that's long enough for me to wrap around my fingers or ball up as if I was going to use it to hang a poster on the wall.

With it wrapped around your finger, just quickly stick and peel the tape on the residue and it should take the leftover glue right off.

Be warned though that you should only focus on the area with the glue and that this method may temporarily leave a raised section of the plastic cover behind if it's done too vigorously.

Called my local GameStop about exchanging one of my purchases in the sale for another qualifying title.  Said I would only be refunded what my receipt says.  So in short, exchange is YMMV.  Basically I have to return all 3 games and redo my transaction.  Fun, right?

Thanks for posting this I wanted to get Dragon Age : Origins because the version I had in my ultimate has the ring of death on it.. Ended up finding 2 copies of Wanted at my gamestop that are in good condition and complete. Sending them into Amazon!

I am having a BLAST with Killzone 2. I'm surprised I never got around to it when it released. Killzone 1 and God of War were my games back when I was 15 and 16...loved them both.

Just surprised it took me this long to play it. Everything feels so chaotic and you really get a feel for the war theyre waging on Helghan; it's great!

I heard the third one isn't as good as the second one though??

As I haven't been able to find 3 games at one store so I don't know 100% if they all ring up at 3.33 base each. However, I have seen some comments in previous pages that they all get marked down to 3.33 each. If that's really the case, you should be able to return one and get back your 3.33. However, I don't know that you'd be able to purchase/exchange it w/o some override as the markdown only applies when you buy 3 of those games.

Warioware DIY, Super Street Fighter IV, Dream Trigger, Steel Diver, Fable III, Armored Core 4 and Mass Effect 2 for 3 apiece. Pretty good deal to me.

Edit: Also got Little Big Planet, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Crisis Core and FF Tactics. Got 27 games total with this deal, and a few cheap 89 cent PSP games. 32 games total. Thank you Gamestop! Now I have nearly 3 dozen more titles in addition to hundreds of other titles in my backlog. fuck!

You know Wii and DS titles can be played on your Wii U and 3ds, right? Plus, Steel Diver and Dream Trigger are on the list and they're okay fun.

Forgot to say this morning, it worked in Arkansas..ended up with heavenly sword, drag age, and star wars for ps3..the clerk just gave me the list, and they announced it over the annoying speaker in the store hope that helps.
Your gamestop has a speaker system?

Well I think I'm subconsciously trying to win this sale since I bought two more sets tonight and that puts me at either 21 or 24.

Then that's a pretty crappy store and you should probably stop shopping there if they're not decent enough to take care of you on a simple matter. Or just buy the games by themselves then return the first ones with the other receipt since it's the same game.

Forgot to show off the amazing quality of game I was given. Didn't see it until I got home. Need to return it and swap it

Holy Crap! I have never gotten a game like that from Gamestop. I dont understand why would they even keep a game like that in the store and not just throw it away.

What did you pick up? I am wondering myself what else to get and any recommendations on the games you picked?

I forecast more of these 3 for $10 or B1G1 free or maybe B2G1 under $20 used sale in the future.

Because they can sell it to some helpless sap who won't ever look at it that close?
Yeah I don't ask to see the disc in store, plus it's the only one they had. I do ask for the full case though.

I'll have to go to the second store to get a new disc anyway, they only had that copy

im thinking since people have stated that wanted is only like 3 hours long mabye id be better off just getting the game by itself, beating it and returning it the next day. if there were others on this list i would want to buy for myself id get it with this 3/10 deal but sadly there isnt.. all the good stuff on here ive beaten already :(
