Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek topic
I'd need a new video card to run Legacy on my PC. That might be the best way to go though.
you could get a nvidia 6800gt for less then 200 bucks in some places..thats what I am running right now. Works good for fps like hl2 and doom 3. Good for this game too.
ONCE again.....NO

Yea it is true that the borg would only attack/capture/assimilate higher level ships, but they won't care for small shuttles/transports.

If you never played a MMORPG, just avoid Star Wars Galaxies altogether. Its just an unreconizable mess right now, that I tried to get back into after a year break (i was a first year vet), but now its not worth it as all my friends are gone :(

To be honest, I would love to start as a Klingon.
I still don't see why not...But yes, playing as a Klingon would be nice.

well only time will tell. Take SW:G for example. The game started off saying "jedi's will be rare/non-existant..." then they introduced unlocking/quests because people kept on bitching about it, then more bitching lead the devs to say oh fuck the sw universe, anyone can start of as a jedi when they rewrote the game. Sorry but to run around with a deformed/cyborg body in cube ships assimilating everyone doesn't appeal to me.It gets boring after awhile.. What's next you want to be "Q"?

fanboys wet dreams.......pff!

Haha. Playing as a Q would be funny, though running into a Q as a rare event would be interesting (they could be controlled by mods).

I just think playing as a borg once someone plays the game for a LONG time would be nice. It would be sort of a reward for people who level up real quick and are bored after a while. Maybe in ideal conditions this could work, but again, I am not sure how it would work in reality.

I personally would love to play as a Vulcan. I hope you can customize the characters completely as well.
Do you manage your ships with the overview screen, and always be sure to target asteroids with the red boxes around them? Usually when I saw an asteroid with a red box on the overview screen that was getting close to a planet I would swap to that ship, control the ship long enough to destroy the asteroid, and then go back to to the overview menu.
I implemented this last night and it worked very well...until the game froze :bomb:

Mod controlled "Q" would be ok.

Doesn't matter how high you get before you become borg. The borg can assimilate you at any time. Plus as a borg you have no free will so you will be just walking around mataining the ship or assimilating other life forms. no promotions, no pay increase=boring!

And you know with the Vulcan's, there will be those clowns running around with Mr. Spoook or Dr. Spook
"In the Pale Moonlight" = fantastic DS9 episode.

Was that the one with Sisko trying to get the Romulans into the war? If so, I saw the last half during my lunch break. Outstanding episode.

Yep. Garak for the win.

"Up the Long Ladder" = one of TNG's worst.
I have that DS9 episode on tape, a wonderful episode.

I missed that one, but it's from season 2, which is about 85% crap.

the only good part about Up the long ladder was that chick Riker slept with.

grawl

Yes that DS9 episode was the best. Sisko got really damn lucky the Romulans couldn't tell it was a fake after they recovered it from the exploded shuttle.

Yep, although that was part of the genius of Garak's plan.

No no...

It's A fffAAAAAAAke!

And just because....

KKKKKKKKHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANN!!!!
Yep, although that was part of the genius of Garak's plan.
Well the senator could have sent a message right away when they got on the ship saying that the Federation is trying to lie them to start a war. Hmmm... that doesn't sound like anything that could happen in real life... :)

LOL

yea when you think about that, the senator could have really fucked sisko and the federation if he sent a message before leaving. Stupid Romulan!

Maybe Garak fucked their comm system...?

But it was probably just an oversight :whistle2:$

Q is great, he should have been in a TNG movie.

And I like how bad the first two seasons of TNG are. The first ends with worm aliens sending a message to their home planet, never to be seen again. The season finale of TNG in season two is a flash back Riker episode! Then the first episode of season three has the normal doctor back after going "I was away for a year". I love it! :D
IT'S A FFAAAAAAAAAAKE! Is the sequel to KHHAAANNNNNNNN!!!
With "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!" coming in-between.

I had no clue "it's a faaaaake!" was so popular.
It's the way the Romulan says it, and holds it tightly in his hand when he says that. I had the feeling when I first saw that episode during its original broadcast that he would say that. Sisko is one lucky SOB that the romulan didn't shoot him for that.
With "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!" coming in-between.
Nah, that's a great episode but Picard would have needed to say...

There arRRRRRRRRRRRRe FFFOOOOOOOUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR LIIIGHTTTTTTTTS!!!

*Yes I know he did kind of say that in the episode, but it's not as... well it's not as funny, and it doesn't have the same feel.

Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe that is what he screamed during the sex. :)

Catching up on DS9 on my DVR this week. Just caught In The Pale Moonlight, and damn was that a good episode. I was on the edge of my seat. Should have watched this instead of Voyager when they were on.
You guys going to watch Enterprise tonight? I hated Enterprise back in the day when it first aired, but now I am starting to like it.
I don't know. I might. I still have only seen like one episode.

Enterprise is shit but the only good episode of the first season was on today, th eone with the Doctor not wanting to cure the people.
"It's a faaaaaaaaake!"

Best phrase since, "It's a trap!"
Next topic: Vreenak's Star Trek topic.

It's a faaaaaaaaake!

I watched Season 1 of Enterprise and thought it sucked. My Dad (a huge trekkie) convinced me to watch the Season 3 finale with him when it aired
The Nazi Earth ending
And I was sold... until I watched the Season 4 premiere...

But season 4 is the best season of Enterprise.
If Enterprise had 7 seasons, and all were season 4 quality it would have been my favorite Star Trek.

Awww fuck, the one day I can watch DS9 and it's the episode where O'Brien's daughter gets turned into a jungle girl. fuck.

Yep, and it doesn't even end the lame ass time travel story, we never find out who he was.

And season 4 is ok because it's mainly writen by Manny Coto who is now a writer for 24. The problem is he had to write the show with terrible charaters that alreasy had terrible storylines. He did give the token black guy more to do in 5 minutes of one show than he did all the previous three seasons. But Manny Coto was not allowed to right the season 4 primere or ending. As a TNG fan I love the Enterprise ending.
Awww fuck, the one day I can watch DS9 and it's the episode where O'Brien's daughter gets turned into a jungle girl. fuck.

There are times I wonder how the O'Briens stay married. Both of them have dominant personalites and are easiy irritated. They seem more 20th century than 24th century in that regard.

I think I may be the only Star Trek fan who can't stand DS9. I am going to try and sit down one week and watch the series from the first episode to the last. I like how in the other Star Trek series you can easily pick up the story by just watching any random episode.

Also, Enterprise was pretty good last night (all 4 of them). Anyone else watch it?
