Hey guys, I figured since we totally hijacked that DS Lite thread to talk about everything from cider to live local music....we might as well have a dedicated thread for it. Especially since I think we definitely have the most robust discussions in the Southeast CAG forum!

I'll kick it off by describing my recent EB experience:

I hit the Northlake EB (the one with the cool manager) today to grab some B2G1 goodness. I ended up getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XB), RE2 (GC), and RE3 (GC), all complete and mint for 86.65. Considering that MvC2 goes for $50-60 on ebay, I thought this to be a pretty good purchase! As I was leaving, the manager guy told me that the North Dekalb store had some rare shit right now too, and that I should check it out. What a nice guy!

Anyway, I f'n hate that EB, but I figured it was worth a trip (its not that far from home). I ended up getting complete mint copies of REZ (PS2), LoZ Promo disc (GC, the one with Master Quest), and Cubivore (GC) for $72.20. Cool.

I also got 3 used DS games (preparing for the Lite on Sun) for B2G1. All three of the games (Trauma Center, Advance Wars, and MarioKart) were complete. But, somehow, as the dipshit was ringing me up, the Trauma manual somehow disappeared from the box! Since they insist upon slapping those damned clear stickers on the edges at sale time, I didn't notice the missing manual until I was on the way home. Jackasses!! Well, they had another complete used copy, so hopefully they can help me out tomorrow....but I'm not counting on it.

In the meantime, this dude with a baby was trading in 20 Xbox games (and getting ripped off, I might add), and the clueless employees there couldn't seem to get it all worked out. That poor bastard must've been there for about 45 minutes, and still hadn't gotten the right trade in credit. UGH.

My two trips today really showed me how utterly opposed two EBs within a few miles of one another could really be. And that is why I always go out to Northlake!

On to more beer talk!!
Can we start spotting for next week's sales? I need a Target with a healthy supply of The Orange Box
and a CC with Lost Planet for the 360.
You could get them both at CC now and price adjust/match. Or get them at Sears for an extra 10%. Also, in cases when stock runs out, I find stores are much less likely to call and confirm stock and such when it is a price adjustment than when it is a price match at time of purchase.

The Snellville bestbuy is selling several games 50% off. It looks like the rack has been there for a while, but there were a few decent games left.

:360: and :ps3: The darkness
:360: enchanted arms (1 copy left)
:360: bullet witch (1 copy left)
:psp: final fantasy (1 copy left)
:psp: Gurumin (1 copy left)
:psp: parappa the rapper
:psp: dead head fred
:ds: front mission
:ds: Castlevania DOS (1 copy left)

There were several others, but these were the only ones I can remember worth mentioning.
They're all list price before the 50% markdown.
When I saw this a week or so ago some of those list prices are HIGH. I think The Darkness starting price tag was $50. If it was MSRP of 30, I'd get it for the reduced price of 15. DOAX2 is still listed as $40. I though BB was better about meeting MSRP with games, but when I bought the last Pimp My Ride at the Duluth BB it was 50! It's regularly 15 at CC. Hey, that was more for the 10% extra when I price adjusted it to CC's flyer. Total cost $3.24. Back to The Darkness, I thought about getting a price check, but the sign states that the qualifying 50% off games must have a sale sticker and a certain price sticker and the 50% comes off of the price on that sticker. Maybe if it rang up 30 they wouldn't pay attention to that fact.

Thanks for the tip. I had to go in there anyway, but I wouldn't have checked the clearance rack if I hadn't read your post.

The only thing I picked up was Flatout: UC for the 360 for $19.99. I also saw 1 Yakuza for $15, 1 XBX Reservoir Dogs for $10, 1 360 NHL 2K8 for either $20 or $30. Now I've forgotten the rest...but there was actually some good stuff in there for decent prices.

There was 1 copy of Flatout: UC for 360 at $20, like I got.
Second the 360 Orange Box (Target) and 360 Lost Planet (CC) idea.
Okay, while running errands this week I scouted out over 7 Metro ATL targets for your best location on Orange Box
iconxbox360.gif
. Most stores have 4 or less copies (unless they restock for the sale, which is doubtful).

HOWEVER, the Ackworth Target (on 3378 Cobb Pkwy) had 10-12 copies today (they went so deep in the case it was hard to tell).

;)

Anyone with a Lost Planet update would be apreciated.

iconxbox360.gif
On a side note the Cobb Parkway (Cumberland Mall area) Circuit City had a (SH!T) ton of 360 titles pulled and repriced at the $16.xx and put in a bin (seriously it was about 65-75 360 games). I picked up several titles yesterday. Most of these are on the recent price drop and CC clearance list, but I visit this store weekly and this is either new stock (?) or stuff from the back that never got shelved.

Any titles at the Cobb Parkway CC you remember or that you bought?

I was at the Cobb Pkwy CC late last night and h3llbring3r's right, they still have a ton of 360 titles with the price drops written in Sharpie, at least 50 games or more still. I didn't grab any but I do recall a single Phantasy Star for $8.96 among the rest. I mostly went there to check on Lost Planet and I found 3-4 copies on the shelf handmarked at $29.99 I think. Also checked the TRU nextdoor for 360 Table Tennis with no such luck though, plenty of copies at CC for $19.99:cry:

Man...I think we were all at the Cumberland CC last night! I bought one of the LE Lost Planets (which left two as of 6:30 pm last night) and one of the regular Lost Planet's (which left one). If they'll adjust the LE next week, I'll keep that and return the regular. Otherwise, vice versa. I also bought an Orange Box, with hopes that they will price match/adjust it next week to the Target price.

I also poked through the bargain bin. They had a ton of copies of Battle for Middle Earth II for $16.97. Can't remember what else was in there.

Incidentally, I also checked out the Cumberland Sears and they had 2-3 copies of Lost Planet that I could see, and 2-3 copies of the Orange Box. So that's another option for price matching.

Tonight, I grabbed the 360 Lost Planet at the Cumberland C.C. at 7:45 pm. I tried to get the Collectors Edition for the sale price but was utterly shut down. In fact, when I brought it up to the register the cashier immediately informed me that it was not the version on sale. She was totally up to speed and said that the employees were briefed on the sale price. I went with the reg. edition for the sale price leaving one reg. edition and one c.e. left.

I then traveled further on Cobb Parkway to the nearby Target to grab the 360 Orange Box. I bought one and was even spotted fifty cents as I didn't grab enough change from the car. Way to go Target Guy Cliff! There were three copies left at 8 pm, (they're hidden behind the 360 demo so might last a bit).

Well, the GS near my work has no DVDs. They shipped them up to Canton. If anyone's willing to hike up there, they might find some deals during this clearance sale. I won't be making the trek.

Ah, thanks for the head's up. To save myself price-matching hassle at Target (and because I needed to pick up a circular anyway), I went to the Cobb Pkwy Target see if they had any Orange Boxes left. They did, so I got one. There were at least two left as of 1:30. Went straight to Cumberland CC and returned the OB and Lost Planet CE I got last week and got a price adjustment on the regular Lost Planet I had. Didn't check to see if there were any on the rack.
Well, the GS near my work has no DVDs. They shipped them up to Canton. If anyone's willing to hike up there, they might find some deals during this clearance sale. I won't be making the trek.
What DVD clearance sale is this?

Also, the Best Buy in Snellville has a table of DVDs at 50% off (most or all were 7.50 after discount) inlcuding Leon the Professional, the original 3:10 to Yuma, Transformers, Hellboy SE, Donnie Brasco SE, Volver, several others.

Still has the 50% game rack. Darkness rang up 60 before discount so I said no and I noticed they had 3 Pimp My Rides marked 50 each! They also had Dirt for PS3 and NHL2k8 for 360 and PS3 $60 before discout.
Buy 2, get 4 free. Though it seems that the number of stores that still have DVDs has been greatly reduced.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171960

The store I checked was on Mansell, in Roswell.

Also, those $7.50 DVDs are in the flier this week for all BB stores. Pretty nice deal on the 2-disc Memento, if you don't have that. Also, the newest version of Meatballs.
Oops, haven't seen a flier yet, I just look at Speedy's posts a lot now. It looked like a YMMV type of set up with a crappy sign and set up which is why I thought it was a store specific deal. They also had both of those titles you listed.

And thanks for the GS DVDS info, I will also have to check my GSs.

There's been a rumor that a few select Sears stores have been breaking the street date and selling Super Smash Bros Brawl early. Has anyone seen evidence of this?

hey guys. You might be intersted. Dawsonville walmart has a ton of games on clearence. in locked case so lots still left.

mostly 360

kameo
superman returns
nhl 6/7, nhl 2k6/7, nba 2 ncaa 6/7
def jam
tony hawk
all are 10.00

stranglehold
crackdown
28

lots others just can't remeber

In case anybody missed the thread on the main page, PGR4 is $19.99 at Radio Shack this week. Looks like there are some in the metro ATL area that have some.

I picked up 1 copy today at the Stonecrest Mall store. I think they had another copy left.

The Radio Shack site has a store locator with stock, like Best Buy, so you should be able to find one close to you with it in-stock.

Target is doing a buy 1 get 1 free on $9.99 XBLA game cards this week.

The new Super Taret over by Ashford-Dunwoody and the Target on Cobb Parkway both have the same stock.

Ult. MK 3, Texas Hold 'em Poker, and Worms.

Not much for selection, but still a good deal if you wanted 1 or 2 of the games.

went to the aquarium today!

man its over priced. I was expecting under 25 like the zoo. It was 38 for an adult. Crazy!

we spent 75 to get in and then another 40 for food and drink And we were still hungry. Then we had to shell out another 10 for parking.

oh and a side note what happened to all the bulgua whales? Only one left???
oh and a side note what happened to all the bulgua whales? Only one left???
see.. and then you wonder why the food is so expensive.

One died of some weird genetic disease last year, the other died recently and is having a necropsy done.

I need a PGR4 for $20 anyone know of any instock NW OTP?

And regarding the price, people laughed at us for getting annual passes, but the with a 2yo and a bazillion cousins coming in from out of town that all want to see "Worlds largest aquarium" they paid for themselves fast. They also forget to mention or downplay the fact that you get 10% off the food and gift shop.

Yeah the downtown scene can eat through the wallet real quick.

As for spending $40 on food there, I skip eating there and walk to somewhere nearby.

$40 in an actual restaurant tastes and fills 'ya much better.

As for parking, well...I guess there's MARTA:)

the 1st time I went I had free passes. I didn't realize it was so expensive.

Well it is still cool. I wish they had polar bears and dolphins. Didn't the zoo used to have a polar bear?

The douglasville BestBuy had a bunch of Brute Force and Fuzion Frenzy and maybe one or two other platinum hits games for $2.

Also, tons of ipod nano accessories for about $1 or $2. (I'm pretty sure it was nano... it's the one that's maybe 2-3 inches tall, and 1inch wide. Um... not the classic size and not the one that's about the size of a postage stamp.)

Found two Ghost Squads at the Snellville Target with the AsIs stickers for 12.76. Up for trade or sale at cost for local CAGs first as I recall someone hoping to find them.
MEMEMEMMEMMEMMEME!!! PMed.
Hmmmm, would anybody like a Ghost Squad?:whistle2:k

Checking pms.

Walmart in Snellville is having a YMMV clearance on games. Nothing too exciting, basically everything marked with a red sticker on a cart was $15.

360 games included:
Shadowrun, Ratatouille, DOAX2, a Poker Game, Blazing Angels 1

PS2:
Disgaea 2
Manhunt 2

PC games:
Loki SE
UFO Afterlight
Stranglehold

A couple of interesting things, but about $5 more than I'd pay for most. I'm on the fence about UFO, but I can probably get it for under $10 soon since it's a niche PC game and all. I picked up Shadowrun as I've wanted to play it despite the negative press, but I could probably get a better deal if I waited a few more months. I do have 8 more prestige levels in CoD4 after all. . .

I scouted out the following at Perimeter Mall Best Buy today
Penny Game Guides:
Warhawk
Manhunt 2
Shadowrun

The perimeter mall Target in the round-a-bout shopping center had the following:
PS3 Jericho $24.98 (2)
PS3 NHL2008 $24.98 (2)

360 Juiced 2 $14.98 (3+ copies)
360 Spiderman FoF $12.48 (2 copies)

Xbox 1
NFL Street $3.74 (2 copies or more)

Buckhead/Lindbergh BB Had nada (Madden 08 guide, I think it was pennied? Guides had been picked over)
Target Underneath the BB had:
360 Juiced 2 for same as above price
360 Stranglehold $41 (not a deal)

Checked my usual Cobb Pkwy BB (NOTHING, they never do- someone ganks the pennied guides the day they drop there- worst BB on planet).
Cobb Pkwy Target nothing of iterest either.

Checking pms.
Ouch. No love, no love at all. Well, if no one likable PMs you about them, I'd still like to buy one.

Hiram Target still has about 8 Ninja Gaiden Sigmas at 29.98 and maybe one Blue Dragon, same price. Douglasville had two NGS at 14.98, now they have one. They also have a few of the little Halo 3 figuress (Arbiter & Master Chief) for 1.48 I think.

If anyone sees Folklore or Blue Dragon for 14.98, please lemme know.

Thanks, Guin- I am going to head over to Douglasville way for a Sigma. Man that's a haul for me though. Mayretta ain't got crap for deals.

I am also looking for a sub $15 folklore.

Called the FYE in Discover Mills mall about Bioshock since it's been reported as restocked in the bioshock thread and it seems they've gotten a lot of calls.

I said, "Hey, I'm calling about a 360 game to see if it's in stock."
"Let me guess, Bioshock, right?"
"Yep"
"No new copies in stock."

Is that Target at Buckhead/Lindbergh underneath the BB the one on Piedmont Road?
Also, do you remember how many Juiced 2 they had left and where they were in the department?

Thanks!

Hey, I'm looking for one of those $16 Ninja Gaiden Sigmas. I checked the Target near me off Cobb Pkwy and amazingly they had one, but as luck would have it, it was hidden/missing as the lady working there could not seem to locate it. Probably a smart CAG waiting for the next drop (looked like the other drops in the store corresponded to the 29.98 price tag) and hid it somewhere. My usual spots used to be ( I recently moved) Sidney Marcus Target and the Buckhead target, but it seems from these reports, they are dry. If anyone can help find one to throw one my way it would be greatly appreciated. I'm too much of a cheapskate to pull for a long drive for longshot (learned my lesson with the Doraville Kmart).

The FYE at Arbor Place is huge compartively. ...sadly their game selection is pretty poor so size makes no difference in this case.

Controls are customizable in GS, so you should be able to use pretty much any gun shell.
It rules, btw.

I hit the Perimeter CCity last night to check for Wii clearance games. Picked up the last copies of Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam and FF: Silver Surfer (which is apparently terrible-- I'll have to return or trade it), and a copy of MUA, leaving one of those on the shelf.

No Excitetruck, no Trauma Center: SO, no Super Swing Golf.

Also noticed one copy of that Earth Defense Force game for 360 that some ppl seem to be excited about. Didn't check for any of the other new clearance titles.

I hope to check Northpoint today for a possible SSGolf. Has anyone been there yet this week?

Yes that's the one underneath the BB. I don't recall location in that store, but I am pretty sure it was out of the case there, my notes in my phone don't list the number of copies (Usually that means 1). The clearance section for that target is a few endcaps away from normal game section. Just opposite the back wall of the store.

If it's not there, your next best bet is to drive just a few miles to the new Target at Perimeter mall (it's not far at all) they had multiple copies of Juiced 2 and are located inside the game case. I remember that clearly- as they had more clearance titles.
