Well the arcade is based on the Wii so the highest output it can go to is 480p.
Good enough reason for me - guess I'll pick the game up soon-ish.

I was just kinda worried that it was in HD and they Downs-ed it for the Wii.

April O'Neil is going to have the juiciest, bounciest boobs of all.

For all my buddies here who have a Nintendo Wii....

I have 3.1 Firmware Update installed on my Wii currently. Can I say "No" to any future updates as long as I don't have "Wii Connect" on?

I caved in....

Thanks to Jim's kind words of encouragement, I just ordered my first Wii import game.

After reading up on SRK (and reading various user's posts), speaking to Jim, decided to just put down an order...

Oh, you know for what...

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (Play-Asia....$8 off coupon YAY!)

and I bought a Joybox (PS2-->GC) converter for about $20. A couple users on SRK said that they tested it out with a couple sticks, including a HRAP. So hopefully they are right and I don't have to get stuck with playing with a shitty GC pad, or getting the Hori Wii Stick.

Risky risky.

niiice! I jus got the email for the Triumvir HD Remix tournament!!

but... I'm scared that it wont be in LA... and it's on a sunday too...

>_

Hmm... I'm already planning on picking up Beatmania IIDX 15 this month, but maybe I can beg for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom as a Christmas present...

I totally want to.

I believe there are some developers who worked on SSB:Brawl that are also a part of the team.

I'm going to ask a tough question, has anybody here not played Brawl as much as they thought they would? I thought I'd be playing it for half the year and Virtua Fighter 5 ended up being that game. It's not that I think Brawl is bad, but it didn't have the staying power I thought it would.

I still haven't really put much time into it. I really don't like that they slowed the game down as much as they did, because it's less fun to play multiplayer now. But I really do want to play through the Subspace Emissary, because that looks really fun.

So basically, it's even less of a fighter for me than the last one was... It's a side-scroller.

Played some more MKvDC over the last couple days. Mapped it to the EX2 and it's actually pretty fun. The gameplay is pretty shitty, but the game is just fun. Doesn't hurt that I grew up a superhero / comicbook nerd (so I appreciate Deathstroke and Captain Marvel being in it.)

It's fun though. I recommend everyone pick it up when it's about 10 dollars.

I just didn't like it overall so I can't say much. The sad part is I've unlocked more and done more in the game than friends of mine who play it like a religion... I did it in 3 days.

that reminds me, when MK Deadly Alliance came out I unlocked all the coffins in 3 days... same for deception... same for alot of other games with a ton of unlockables.... >_< man I suck.

I can totally understand why people don't like it, ReRo. Just saying I personally find it kinda fun.

I'm soooo hyped for TvC though. So hyped. Can't wait to get it.
It's in San Jose isn't it? Going to be coming up to NorCal?

Beatmania makes me feel like I have no rhythm. Fun game to watch (with someone who knows how to play) regardless.
I think theyre doing 4 of them?

LA, SF, NY, and Tampa.

I think... why else would they give heads up to those 4 areas?

I wonder if they will all happen on the same day tho...
Play-Asia is certainly working fast, my TvC order just shipped and I ordered an hour ago.
I was just going to come on here and post something along the lines of that :)

Ordered a copy of TvC 6 hours ago before I went to bed. Woke up and had a shipping invoice in my email box.

yup, my Play-Asia TVC shipped as well, but I'm impatient, and am currently "acquiring" it as well. Hopefully can play it by tonight...

Well, me and my immediate friends were very into Melee. These days, we usually choose to play the older version over Brawl. It's not just you, a good amount of people prefer Melee over the new iteration.

If anyone can PM me and let me know how I can play TvC on my Wii it would be much appreciated. Also anyone know which is the best PS2 to GC converter?

like option.iv, i prefer melee.

all my friends moved on to brawl but the intensity isn't there and it became more of a casual party game than a "let's play this everywhere we go" game.

brawl to me, is boring. it's like stepping down from mvc2 to mvc. the movement options aren't there, the speed dropped by like 3000000x, the nerf of edgeguarding decrease the intensity, it's just ... not there anymore.

MvC1 rules!

I hear what you're saying though. I enjoyed Brawl immensely though.

On a side note, anyone got a link for a complete list of characters / moves for TvC?

I'd also appreciate a PM regarding Tatsu Vs. Capcom playing. Because I'm totally gonna be getting this. I can't not!

Also, Markman, how are you liking that TVC stick? How high quality are the parts and is it worth it to grab that, or should I get a converter instead? Or the Hori fighting stick?

I'm so helpless :(

The stick is kinda crappy to be honest.

I'm still testing out converters to find out what's good.

I didn't get to open the stick up, but it is definitely NOT quality parts.

Huh...

Well, the Hori stick should be like an EX2, right? So... an acceptable, most likely.

Thanks for the info.

And man, how the hell do people figure this stuff out? My God.

The Wii Hori stick isn't that good either, but at least it has some weight.

I'm going to go with converter+PS2 stick. I just can't stand playing it wirelessly and missing inputs/now and then.
On a side note, anyone got a link for a complete list of characters / moves for TvC?
It's just the starting roster from the arcade.

Yeaaaa TvC!!!

I can't wait to get my copy of TvC in the mail, as well as the PS2/GCN Converter I got off Ebay.

Hopefully it'll work out well so my friends won't be stuck using a Wavebird :)

Why can't the Wi be region free? :whistle2:(

Because Nintendo hates things that are fun.
like option.iv, i prefer melee.

I dunno, in some ways I prefer Brawl to Melee. I got used to the speed change (which is gigantic), and the tactics have changed a bit. I disagree ever-so-slightly about the edgeguarding tactics, since many characters have ways around it (Lucario, for one), or just don't need the edge at all (like Diddy). The one major complaint I do have about Brawl, however, is that it just feels like there could've been more put into the game. Costumes, certain moves for certain characters, music, levels, etc. While it's a good game, it just feels like they were going through the motions when you really look at it.
Yo I have 4 PS2 to GCN converters, and looking to get rid of 2.

Hit me up if you're in the market for one.
I need one, but im waiting for markman to let us know the results of his tests to see which converter to go with. My TvC should be here today or tomorrow hopefully, so im ready to rock the game with my Tekken 5 ps2 stick.

I used all 4 with SC2, and never noticed any kind of lag.

Then again, I didn't do any specific tests. I'm pretty adept at noticing that kind of stuff, but then again I could be wrong.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I've been working more so I haven't had time to check, but has there been a list of games for this upcoming Evo? Even a tentative list would give me an idea of what to practice in. So far, I have a feeling that it's gonna be SC4, SF4, Brawl, HD Remix...and I can't think of anymore after that. I'm still going to play some CvS2, since there's gonna be a side tournament for it, most likely.
