last time i stayed at the rio which was around new year's last year they still had crt tv's with the working rca plugs in the front of the tv and a working av button to be able to to get to the input needed to play games. this was only in the tower rooms closest to the casino though. dunno about now though since almost every other harrah's affiliated hotel i've been to since then has lcd's with the security box and the weird remote control that won't let you switch a/v ports.
 
nowadays i get mad if i lose ONE round in SFHD. man.

i got 4 more losses the other day, all to the same person

Thanks for the heads up. I honestly have not been back to Las Vegas in maybe 10+ years, so I'm out of the loop. Though it wouldn't annoy me too much to drive 8 hours to bring all the gear so all the CAG's could play, it would be unnecessary wear on my car when I could fly instead :(

Also how is Cannery Dojo? I want to join you guys sometimes but I'm afraid comparing skill levels to the rest of you folk (looking in Rival's direction) I'll scrub the place up :)

cannery dojo is cool man, you should come down the next time onikage throws something. don't be worried about being to scrubby or whatever haha, everybody there just wants to get better and the better guys like thrust07 and a_rival are always down to give helpful tips on everyone's play. haha, i'm the biggest scrub there anyways. :(

also if you come through make sure you come on an empty stomach because onikage's girlfriend is always cooking up hella grub and snacks for everybody.

as far as evo, they have a bring your own console setup with tvs already there if i remember correctly so all you really need to bring is whatever console and sticks you want to play on. just gotta swoop up on a setup quickstyle to play on during the day. there's too much to do in vegas to just trap yourself in a room and play games all night anyways. :p

Word. As I posted on SRK, I'll bring free beer if he throws something together again soon. I haven't played Rival since everyone stopped going to Scandia up in Sonoma County Fri/Sat nights. Long ass time ago.

Also if you are at the next Cannery Dojo gathering, I gotta play you in something. I have a feeling you aren't as scrubby as you make it seem :)

True about staying in a room playing games all night in Vegas. I'm guessing though if I do go, I'd like to get a couple games in against FG Thread Alum, mostly because a lot of stuff I play seriously isn't online capable.
 
Yeah, good games Smallwind and Gigan! I think I had the most fun playing your Gief, gigan. I don't know what it is about the SPD, but I always enjoy seeing it, whether or not I'm on the recieving end.

Man, I seriously can't play Shotos for shit in HDR. I tried practicing with some other characters earlier today, ad I was getting Sgt. Slaughtered all day. Then I switch it up to Dictator, and iunno, something just clicked.

When I saw that stick, the first words in my head were "Lights?! Cammy?! DO WANT!!!".:lol::lol::lol: I found that video when I was checking out light mods for sticks. I wonder how hard it would be to add lighted buttons to the TE?

From the few I've seen, theres a morrigan infinite, rockman infinite, like 7 yattaman infinites, and like an 80% ryu baroque combo.

Also a chun infinite.

Marvel 2.5 here we come!
 
anyone have tips on SFIV to prep for the tourney? I don't know who I want to try and play... I was leaning towards Dan, but I hear he's terrible... Maybe Sagat (ie. top char)?

fuck that. Someone please explain to me how Dynamic Edition has stayed on so long. IMO they are just as a one-trick-pony as some of the crews over the past few seasons.

Gamestop SFIV tourney tips? The only tip I'd give is enjoy yourself. As Suko mentioned the 360 controller is the biggest thing you should be worried about.

Your hand will turn into a lobster claw throwing out Ultras in SFIV on the 360 pad :)

Why is it that when I see "Classic Pack," it reads "Everyone Else" to me?
