on that note, does anyone have websites that sell good fake mustaches?

Wtf??

Last time I watched anybody play was years ago at a local cade, dudes kept going at it in MvC2. It was a big ass group too, but now it's more empty than ever, we all grow up :/

naw... the costumes look weird sometimes... if not worn right the crotch is a little scary to look at >_

It's really hard to cross up Chun-Li, especially online. I suggest learn how to walk under their attempts and throw them as they land.

If you can't get under them and they jump early, try using standing jab as AA.

I'll try that, as I'm always eating crossups and 2-3 hit simple shoto combos. People realize this and abuse it, and I get flustered.

Any general advice for Bison? I started practicing with him a few days ago after my 500th Honda loss as Hawk. I got some basic stuff down pat (mk/hk poking, mp juggles), but any other advice would be outstanding.

dood if u wanna beat Honda with Hawk then jus keep jumping jab or whatever the fukk outprioritizes every fukkyn thing I throw out! :bomb:

Bison strategy: walk up, poke with short, poke, poke, throw...

I was playing against these gaf doods and that's what one of them did a lot, and he had the most wins.

btw ppl on gaf are hella good at this game... waaaaay better than SRK ppl I've played with lol

-EDIT-

o yah, Bison has a BnB combo u should learn.

it's like pow pow pow scissors kick.

Psh, I WISH jumping jab snuffed everything Honda did. Jab Headbutt makes me cry myself to sleep, and Ochio makes me feel like showering after each game.

And it's short->throw? I thought it was jab. I'll do that next time.

Watch some videos of my friend Rival playing Bison in HD Remix. Too good

you're honda
you should be turtling and throwing random headbutts, there's like, nothing he can do about that

trust me there is. I jus played 2 rounds as Hawk, I think it's jumping fierce, the one where he sticks his hands out like he is praying.

it like 9/10 knocks out headbutt. let's test it out this week!!

btw I hope when SF4 comes out u hoes dont stop playing STHD!!

I like SFII way better than SFIV, seriously

I'm trying to do some research on HDTV lag in fighters, before I upgrade from my old CRT. Been checking out threads on SRK and AVSforum, but it's a lot to take in. I'd be using an Xbox 360 with the default component cables (no HDMI). Anyone got recommendations for a first-time HDTV buyer? I've seen a few references to Panasonic plasmas being preferable when it comes to minimizing lag... anyone care to confirm or deny?

I believe Bison's basic combo is short -> cr. med kick -> knee press

You can also go into a tick throw setup off st. shorts.

His fake slide is fun to play around with for free throws. But this almost never works against button mashers or turbo $$$s.

His touch of death combo is j. Roundhouse -> st. Short -> cr. Forward -> Fierce Knee Press. Basically it dizzies 100% after the first combo and takes away 50+%. Repeat one more time to finish the opponent.

His j. Forward is really good for cross ups, jump aways, and instant overheads.

His cr. Forward is really good as a poke and meaty attack.

Try to space adequately with knee press so you only hit them once. Hit twice with it, and you risk getting thrown or reversed.

His anti-air is basically air-to-air. Notably j. Strong and j. Roundhouse (neutral).

Plasmas should have less lag than LCDs, and Panasonic's are among the better ones.

If you go with LCD, I'd recommend a Samsung as the "Game Mode" should be able to upscale most images to 480p, which ultimately reduces the lag.

You could also stick to VGA cables/adapters and run it through a VGA box, but that can be kind of expensive.

FYI Hi Def images generally don't lag on Hi Def TVs.

Those forum threads got me paranoid though... although I'm sure the SRK crowd would be way more nit-picker than most about that issue.

Confirmed, as I have a Panny plasma and have no problems playing Beatmania which is like the most timing-dependent game.

Problem with game mode on Samsungs is that there's still a ton of lag if you aren't on VGA, and you can't adjust the picture settings in game mode. And that shit's just nowhere near as good.

I have the 37LG50 and playing HD Remix I haven't noticed any discernable lag through HDMI cables. (I'm by no means an expert though) Haven't tried Rockband or any other Rhythm games yet though. It's the 1080p one and it was 799 at Best Buy 2 weeks ago, but doesn't seem to be on the website anymore.

sf4 blows, like i said, it's as if sf2 and sf3 had an incestuous relationship and sf4 is the retarded kid that popped out.

but at least we got top tier domestic joysticks, so SOME good came out of it

Speaking of HDMI cables, in my research I've seen conflicting reports as to whether the 360 can really output 1080p without HDMI (i.e. old 360's with component cables are S.O.L.). I might just go for 720p anyway so I might be fine.

Some say that the 720p vs. 1080p difference doesn't even become apparent until you hit a particular size of screen. Some say 40", some say 50". I'm thinking that if the extreme videophiles are saying 40", than a mere humanoid like myself would probably be fine at 42" 720p.

Thx for the responses people!! You are indirectly playing a part in making my SFIV (and overall 360) experience as purrdy as possible.

there isnt a single person who doesnt feel the same way.

SFIV is an acquired taste, the ppl who like it are the ones who invested crapload of time into it and convinced themselves it was a good game.

seriously guys, Feb 17, prepare to be disappointed lol.

at least, until the SFIV equivalent of Daigo v. JWong happens, then everybody will like SFIV again.

ok question... recently got the gamepad for SFIV on 360. what are your guys opinion on using Turbo buttons in online play? it doens't seem fair to me... but then again you could both be using turbo.

Real men don't need Turbo.

Actually, Turbo throws me off. I had a hard time effectively using those kinds of buttons back in the day at least.

And Sammy LCD game mode should be ok unless you're trying to upconvert something really low/weird resolution.

Knock it off with the Street Fighter IV hate, guys.:lol::lol: You know and I know that IV will deliver big time in every sense of the word. It won't screw things up to the point where it takes 10 years for a new installment to happen. I say we'll even hear the announcement of Street Fighter V in two years or less.

Yeah, you're right about the turbos. They're a no-go in online fighting if you're taking it seriously.:cool::cool:

wtf?!?! it's snowing AGAIN!!

I hope I get to go home!!

anyways, lol look who jumped to S+ rank in SFIV arcade tier list
No.

Guilty Gear is a game made for people who get off on frame counting.
In other words Koreans.
so is 3S and SFIV. The official guide for SFIV even has frame data in it (for the arcade characters)

I said it before, but Guilty Gear games have mechanics that cut down blockstun and stagger frames, Street Fighter does not so it's much more strict in frame counting vs. Guilty Gear where those things always change.

I got my Street Fighter IV Hori (PS3) today too!

Very disappointing!

Nice box though... I can only think of one box that might be better ;)

Cry more! This is the fighting game thread not the bitching thread!

It's not that bad if SFIV isn't the best ever, there will at least be something to play until Tekken 6 comes out.
