Unfortunately (for most of the rest of us), Hokuto no Ken is a Musou game. :(
Agreed. You're already bored!!

Make a Hokuto no Ken game that's like Yakuza, please.
That was tough, since the AI was too stupid to not die. RE5 was such a disappointment.
So true, especially after RE4. This game, so far, has been the biggest let down of this gen.

Halo 3 was the biggest letdown of this generation.

RE5, outside of Chapter 5, was a great game. Can't wait for the Director's Cut missions.

Word.

In the end, I finished it but unlike all the previous Resident Evils, I'll probably never bother to play it again unless I find a clearance copy for like $10 somewhere.

Agree on Halo, at least "one of the biggest".
Disagree on RE5. After the awesomeness of RE4, RE5 is right up there with Halo 3.

RE5 wasn't perfect. I did enjoy it a good bit. Co-op was a great addition, at least for me as I love co-op games.

Single player wasn't great due to partner AI--I only played that on Easy just to get the experience of the graphics full screen since first play through was in local split screen so it wasn't very frustrating.

Agreed. RE5 > RE4

I'd put RE5 above Halo 3. Since you could at least play Halo 3 yourself without having to worry about your partner's AI...

I had 0 problems with the AI.
Halo 3 was the first game I played through in the Halo series. It did not live up to the hype at all.
All RE5 had to do was be a next-gen RE4... no huge changes/improvements... and yet... it was entirely underwhelming.
The 2nd season of Sam and Max hits XBLA tomorrow? If I knew that I probably would have waited to get Uncharted 2...
If the second season is like the first, Uncharted 2 is the funnier game.

That might be why you didn't like it. Had I not been a decently big Halo fan, I'd have hated 3.

I have yet to play a RE fully. Closest I got was when RE3 came out and my friend played it while I watched him beat the game.

I'm a more Silent Hill man than RE honestly, but that's bullshit basically cuz I havent beaten a single SH game either.
I loved the first game, and I'm enjoying this one even more. It's been tweaked to perfection.
Same here. I played for a couple of hours. STILL missed treasures along the way:bomb: even though I thought I was taking my time. But that how I feel about the second I'm 1/2 way done with the 1st(second time, 1st W/trophy patch) and on chapter three and I must say
the jungle setting in chapter the looks 2-10x better than the jungle setting in the 1st. I'm in awe on how much ND was able to improve on what was already one of the best looking games around. :applause:

Are the retail graphics leaps and bounds above the MP beta graphics? Because I wasn't seeing any real improvement while playing.

Yup. A lot more to look at.

Seems odd to me though -- that they'd not use the same maps/backgrounds/tech they were already modeling for single player in multi... :|

Hmm.. also did that on CoD:WaW, CoD4, and possibly MW2. :hot:
Hmm.. also did that on CoD:WaW, CoD4, and possibly MW2. :hot:
There's a difference. ;)

People buy Call of Duty games for the multiplayer. Some people don't even notice a single player section was included (though this time, with MW2, people will probably notice Spec Ops, at least).

Uncharted's reputation is that of a fantastic single player experience. This is like when GTA decided to add MP. Some people liked it -- hell it's still popular on Live (and PSN?) -- but most people probably bought the game based on previous GTA games -- for the single player sandbox gaming.

OMG Uncharted 2 is soooo good.
I'm on Chapter 5 and have like 4 of 30 treasures. I guess during my next playthrough (if I do one) I'll use a treasure guide or something.

I just hit Chapter 20 and I have 31 or 32 Treasures. I'm playing on Normal, and maybe I should've started on Hard so I could unlock Crushing right away. But Crushing seems like it'll be a bitch and a half.

I approve the avatar and status.

"Go put on Charlie Brown."
"But he's an asshole!"

Yeah, it's absolutely one of the best games ever. Uncharted 2, that is.

That said there were a few moments of frustration/imperfection.

I got stuck in the water current/create a car bridge section in the water and had to load checkpoint, you just could not absolutely get out at all. The reliance on "boost your partner to drop a ladder to continue, but not until the guys are dead" is an imperfect way of cordoning off areas, and It kinda makes sense that the areas you can climb are highlighted, but it feels like I'm playing mirror's edge sometimes with these yellow pipes and pink ledges. It should just have "CLIMB HERE" written on it.

And sometimes drake doesn't want to climb where I want him to climb, but it's not very often. Overall a great game, but it does have some blemishes, like anything does. And the fact that the animation is so, so good 99% of the time makes that one time where drake is sliding down a wall with his legs spread seem that much more absurd.

And now, for my obligatory daily reference to a really old game...

Deus Ex flashbacks, Jer?
Does Uncharted 2's multiplayer play different from the first run of the beta? I really didnt like how it felt honestly.
I'm going to go ahead and guess no.

At least Halo 3 has the multi-player aspect.

The online modes (aside from the co-op) in RE5 are awful.

Uncharted! Holy crap! I love you!

So fucking good. It's so damn rare that I get do excited when actually playing a game. I just can't wait to see what happen next!

I love this universe, I love these characters!

Oh man, I hope you're enjoying it as much as me Makky Mak.

The multiplayer aspect of Halo 3 was the disappointing part. The campaign was fine.

RE5 shouldn't have any online modes outside of coop anyways.

Yes! The game is awesome. I was as excited as you were, but every time I brought it up people were just mad that I was braggin. I was just loving the game!

I finished Uncharted 2 about an hour ago and I'm starting my Crushing run. GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY GOTY

I think my favorite part had to be
when you're chasing after Lazarevic and Schafer. The whole jump from truck to truck while killing the soldiers and then landing in that last truck with the gattling gun was amazing. Best vehicle stage in a game EVER. The train stage leading up to the crash comes in a close second.

Oh, 51 treasures out of 100. Jesus.

and I found 6 already.
Maklershed, send that copy of Uncharted 2 this way when you're done with it.
Sorry. This stays in my archive w/ Uncharted 1, Halos, and the God of Wars.

Hell yes :bouncy:

I guess I'm not far enough in Uncharted. ~ chapter 5 and it just feels like more of the same, except now Drake is worse at shooting. Multiplayer = $$ though, and the very beginning was great. Made me jump more than any "horror" games.

He just wants to borrow it. Y'know, like Brak and Zewone did with TFN's copy of Uncharted.

All of Halo 3 was disappointing. Though I can at least chalk up the MP to the fact that I don't like all the shields and shit.

But yes, RE5 didn't need versus mp. Coop only (if anything).
Halo 3 was the biggest letdown of this generation.
By what standard? It sold boatloads, it still gets tons of XBL playtime, and they continue to add maps/content. I haven't played much of it at all, but I can't deny that (1) it's popular and (2) it plays like Halo.

People said the same thing about Halo 2 (SP campaign, at any rate) when it came out. But hell, it was one of the most popular XBL titles until Halo 3's release (might still be more popular than others).

By what standard is it a disappointment?

I'm tempted to use the soul level glitch in Demons Souls to level up quickly and play through the game. My backlog is so stacked and I simply don't have the time to invest in everything right now. I do want to see Demon's Souls' story/levels unravel, though. And I have Uncharted 2 sitting on my desk, among other games.
