Man, I think I'd sell my soul for some FiOS up here.
But fucking Verizon can't even get their wireless working properly here, so I'm probably out of luck.

Ok, normally, I'm fine with hackers, let them do what they want so long as they're not fucking up my shit. They want to pirate shit and run homebrew or whatever? Great, knock yourself out... if you get banned, your own fault.
This bullshit with "anonymous" fucking up PSN for Geohot? I hope they all die in a fire.

It isn't even the real Anon, just a bunch of "hackers" hating on Sony. It's simple, the dude hacked a PS3 (thats fine) but he went online with it and shared how to do it (not cool).

Never hate on a player, if you must hate, hate the game.
Impulsively bought 3rd Birthday and Duodecim yesterday. PE3 is pretty fun, camera is the only issue so far.
I need to get those. They look radical.

Does Duodecim pretty much play exactly like the first game?

It's very nice out today, so I'm going to sit by the window and drink white wine while working on my law shit.

What? I shouldn't be drinking in the middle of the day?

LOL J/K - I know none of you guys are that square.
I mean I can, but like I said it is a wired connection, I mean maybe I don't have ports opened up that Borderlands is using for my PC (not sure if my PC is set to a static ip, I think it might be though), so maybe I should look into that as well (since I know I opened up most of the ports for the consoles, and thinking back I might have opened up some for the WoW updater since it complained about something seeming wrong and opening ports that it used fixed it). If it is just the internet connection itself though I can't really do much about it since Time Warner Cable is the only broadband available in my area I think.

Edit: When I get home I'll check if these ports are open on my PC.
If it were a port problem, it wouldn't work at all. I strongly believe your connection has packet loss problems and needs to be looked at, which is what smoke ping would confirm.

Why is that not cool?

Agreed 100%.

Man, I just woke up and I feel like ass. No bueno.

I have Borderlands and I've barely played it.

I don't think that's true, like I said with the WoW Updater it ran slow as hell and told me something was wrong and the troubleshooting page told me to open ports for it and then it started running at a standard speed. Same with Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii, prior to opening the ports I could play but I got disconnects and lag a lot, opened the ports and those basically stopped. As a final example, prior to making my 360 a static ip with ports opened for Halo Reach, Reach was basically unplayable, like it would load an online match but I could watch and feel the game trying to sync me and it felt like I was drunk due to a 1-2 second input lag, after static ip and ports being opened it worked fine.
Yes.

I said nothing about the legality of it, just whether or not it was .

If I recall correctly, WoW's updater is P2P based, right? That would explain the slow ass speeds based on whether or not your ports were open. The Wii is just ass in the first place, so I'm not even going to try to reason with that. I have no idea how Reach's online works, so I can't comment there.

Nah, the reason I haven't played Borderlands is because everyone has already played the shit out of it, and I got left behind like Kirk Cameron.

Reason we haven't played VF5 is because I fell asleep the other night, and you're always busy when I do want to play.

I'm not a network guru at all, so I can't really say too much either, other than I've had internet related issues in the past and opening/forwarding the ports on my router seemed to fix the problems. Also, aren't most games P2P at this point, except for some PC FPS games and MMOs?

Shit I forgot. distgfx is the authority on cool. Miles Davis' Birth of the Cool? Yeah, that was actually distgfx. fuck Miles.

j/k I like his music prior to the fusion era.

When in doubt, upgrade your router.

Not all console games are P2P. Warhawk, Socom and MAG run on servers. Pretty much everything on LIVE is P2P. PC gaming is servers unless noted. Servers helps in the lag department, but segregates players. I'm a fan of servers. I do not need matchmaking. Let me find a server I like and play with the same people.

/edit: If BF3 has custom server support, expect me to run my own server.

Bitches Brew had a funny name, because Bitches is what we call women, but yeah, I really hated that shit.

This is the router I have I'm fairly sure. And the game in question is Borderlands for PC, which judging by how it was acting where I'm fairly sure I was serving as the Host (i.e. no lag at all for me, but my clients were getting a good deal of lag), it's P2P.

Maaaan, I asked you before when we'd play VF5 that one night and you put it off indefinitely.

I'm still betting money on packet loss issues, just run a smoke ping one day and see how it goes. It can't hurt, right?

No, sir, I do not like it.

I mean like I said, I can. But if the problem is really my ISP then I can't do anything about it; but given that I've run other online games without much if any issue, I'm fairly sure it isn't the ISP, and what I've suggested has fixed numerous similar problems for me in the past.
No, sir, I do not like it.
I know you can't do anything about it if it's your ISP, they have to do something about it.

Nvm, I see it's dd-wrt compatible, I like it now.

I mean, shit... not even I stopped drinking, JSP. In fact, I'm drinking more now, when I have work to get done, than back when I didn't have anything to do a few weeks ago.

The goal is to drink while working.

Yeah, drinking is a great stress reliever. The key is just to not over do it so you feel crappy the next day and can't be fully productive.
Yeah, drinking is a great stress reliever. The key is just to not over do it so you feel crappy the next day and can't be fully productive.
That's right!

There are few things better than getting a lot of work done during the day, then drinking rum and watching Teen Mom 2 at night.

The key IMO is to get destroyed when you don't have to be productive the next day. :bouncy:

No. That just sucks.

Raspberry Vodka Night sucked.
No. That just sucks.

You fruity drinking slut. Man up to some scotch, whiskey or rum.

I HATE VODKA straight, but I'll drink vanilla vodka and coke :)

I like dem screwdrivers, OJ and vodka. Traditional screwdrivers are 2 parts OJ to 1 part vodka, friend and I make them half and half.

Quick way to get ripped up, lemme tell you.

Speaking of vodka, I started drinking UV Coconut with Mountain Dew last night. It's actually really good. However, it looks like you mixed milk and piss in a glass.
Try tequila and pineapple juice.

UV Blue and lemonade. But next time buy better vodka.
Well I usually buy from near the top shelf... but at $7.25 a fifth, I couldn't pass it up. The ABC stores here in VA have been marking a ton of liquor down lately. Nothing beats clearance alcohol!
Nothing beats clearance alcohol!
Tell me about it. I use to clear old stock for my local Albertson's.
The key IMO is to get destroyed when you don't have to be productive the next day. :bouncy:
Well both keys are valid!

Drinking is great to relieve stress after a long day of work, so I love having a beer or two while watching tv or playing some games etc. before sleeping. But you can't overdo it when you have to be productive the next day.

But yes, the key to getting destroyed is to only do it when you don't have to be productive the next day so you can lay around and recover without consequence. Personally, I seldom get shit faced anymore as hangovers are more severe and longer lasting than when I was younger.

Plus being in the publish or perish phase of my academic career I can't afford many totally non-productive days and would thus rather maximize fun on my non-productive days by going out and doing things rather than being laid up with a terrible hangover! :D So I seldom have more than 2-4 drinks. I'll get ripped a few times a year in special get together's with friends etc, and get reminded the next day (or two!) why I don't do that much anymore!

Yeah, I tend to feel very queasy and have a pounding headache if I overdo it. Really overdo it and I'll be puking and dry heaving for several hours after waking up as well. My stomach just can't handle it anymore. Can't handle spicy food any more either. Grad school stress just killed my stomach and gave me some problems with ulcers etc.

Man, that sucks. If I couldn't eat spicy food, I'd probably kill myself.
Why do people like steelbook cases? They're hard as fuck to get the discs out of.
Because it is a collectors item that goes on half price 6 months after release.

I usually think ahead and drink lots of water with my alcohol. Keeps that dehydration away from pissing 1000x that night. Still can't shake that queasy feeling though.

I still eat tons of spicy food. Love that shit.

How to fix a hangover, j-cart style:

Once you wake up, relieve yourself of all fluids into the toilet. Take some ibuprofen/advil with water. Mix 1/3 a shot of liquor with any sort of juice/soda/beer. Shoot it and then go back to sleep. Waking up is key, it most likely is early and maybe still drunk, but getting of fluids is vital to a quick recovery.

What to eat upon waking is up to you. Fan favorite is breakfast burritos. And always, smother with hot sauce.
