I remember why I stopped playing Castlevania HD, the community is filled with a bunch of whinny assholes who don't want to play. If the team doesn't do a perfect run of the level everyone quits or they boot you off the team.

Sounds like Monster Hunter, like don't get me wrong I love Monster Hunter, but it is only really awesome when you're playing with a friend or two, otherwise you get people who are indeed total idiots and aren't willing to listen to helpful comments (so they aren't interrupting everyone else's attacks the entire time) or the elitist guy who thinks everyone has to do stuff his way (even when he might not have a clue what he is talking about, i.e. trying to tell someone using a Bowgun how to play when it is clear they've never used that weapon for any amount of time), occasionally you get someone who is actually fun to play with though which is nice to fill in the extra spots which aren't taken up by your friends who you can expect to be fun to play with.
Monster Hunter Tri didn't have the option of kicking someone from a room though... which was either a good or a bad thing, good in that you don't get people just booting you for stupid reasons, but annoying when someone is parked in your room and not doing anything.
Finally playing Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands. It's a decent game, but I really want a continuation of PoP 2008...
I'd really like that too. Does anyone know how well it sold?

Oh and I beat the original Alice. It was surprisingly good for a game from 2000. Now I can hopefully get a bit more into Madness Returns before I get Shadows of the Damned this week.

That's good to hear. I never played the original but I remember my college roommate playing way back when, and I thought it was the coolest thing. Playing Madness Returns right now and I like it, but I can't figure out whats going on for the life of me. It's almost like they're speaking a diffrent language.

I think I remember it hitting a million between PS3/360. Hardly sold bad by average standards but I think Ubi had very high expectations for it after Assassin's Creed blew up like Pokemon.
Tell me about it. The PS3 controller works great for everything. I use it for FPS, racers, and other genres very well. It's my preferred controller.
I prefer it to. Partly because I've been using it for so long that I'm comfortable with it, but also I hate the bumpers on the 360 controller. They just don't feel like buttons.

What do you mean by that? I've always understood the hate for the 360 d-pad, but I've never quite understood why people have a problem with the bumpers.

For me, it's that they're more clickers than buttons with a decent amount of give and they're hard to reach when my fingers are resting on the triggers. They feel less accessible than the R1/L1 buttons on the DS3.

I see. I actually like that they are more like clickers. They tend to be used for simple, quick actions, where I just need to roll my finger up off the trigger, and for me they seem to work perfectly for that. They don't seem any harder to me to reach than the R1/L1 buttons. To each his own though I guess.

I can see people having a problem with the bumpers, they have a poor texture and click feel. They've never really bothered me though.

I also don't like how slim they are... their shape/contour makes games that decide to use them frequently a chore -- I believe DMC4 used right bumper as the attack modifier button for holding during certain attacks... this was most annoying.

Still better than this:
American Saturn controller. See those grey things, those are buttons, they suck. Seriously, how did they redesign a decent Japanese controller to be so terrible?

They're no better on the japanese one, I own both versions. @_@

This may be true I never actually used a Japanese one, but my friend told me it was much better. Plus I mean, at least on the Japanese one they look like buttons. And the controller isn't boxy. The d-pad also looks more legit.
Jepanese Saturn pad is the shit for 2D games. Dunno why Sega tried to change the pad for the US market, but at least they switched back to the Japanese pads. US pad had some funky design, using 3 PCBs attached to each other. Such a weird, overly complicated design. Japanese pad was the standard single PCB design.
Shoulder buttons are indeed shitty though. Analog Saturn pad had analog triggers instead of bumpers. I used it when I played Duke 3D and Quake, which both supported the analog pad, on Saturn. It was like peering into the future. @__@
Finished up Duke Nukem, the hate for that game is ridiculously overblown. It wasn't anything close to a ten, but it was a fun romp. I'd give it like a 7.5.
I was hella surprised that the water level didn't suck horribly (thankfully, the boss was easy as shit).

Solid rental overall.
People just hate because it's not trying to regurgitate some inspired by Ayn Rand bullshit hokey ass cliche story. It's Duke, aka a big dumb, fun shooter. Enjoy it for what it is.

It doesn't have a deep, compelling story that will give me a whole new view on life?

I'm pretty sure that no one was expecting it to have that.
