I'm just gonna start going through my backlog this way: play a game, if it's zero fun at all, take it out of the backlog. Most of these last-gen games are worth nothing so I guess I'll keep them, but I'm sick of doing stuff like spending an hour trying to beat a cheap-ass boss in an game from 6+ years ago that isn't giving me any enjoyment at all.
This is what I did. No point in keeping shit I won't ever play and/or that I don't enjoy.

Yup.
Shadows of the Damned on Tuesday! Really looking forward to it.
Me too! :bouncy:

Which console does Alice play better on & was the lead platform for? Probably going to get it for $35 @ KMart on the 26th but need to know which one to get it for. Thanks in advance.
Sorry I'm on my phone but reading the comments 360 is better?

Also WB loves some M$: DLC pass to get the 4 DLC characters for the price of 3 is 360 exclusive.
Don't listen to the comments, that site is full of trolls ... the bad kind. Take a look at the pics when you're elsewhere, they let you form your own opinion of which one's better after pointing out the positives and negatives of each.

I thought about getting Shadows of the Damned. But I'm not really in the mood for a RE4 style game right now. So I'll just wait for a good deal on that one.
Forget the ponies, gotta get'cha head in the game.
Freakzoid would like a word with you

I saw Zelda OoT 3D running on a friends 3DS and it looks pretty nice. I can't wait till I get my copy.

That's what I do with my older games. I don't have the time or patience to play games that aren't any fun, even If I paid good monies for them. Hooray disposable income.
Yeah, I'd take Frost or Boraicho if we HAD to get someone post MK3. Also, MK3 Sub Zero costume.
That costume sucked.
Sorry I'm on my phone but reading the comments 360 is better?
The 360 version of Alice seems to have a couple extra ground textures in the images, but in one of the images the PS3 seems to have a lot better aliasing on the edges whereas the 360 looks extremely jagged.

With that said outside of the mild difference in visual look I'm fairly sure the game probably plays fine on either console. I'm personally playing it on PS3 and the game seems to run just fine.
I say that Mythologies is the best MK.

Had a great story and live action cutscenes. What more could you want?
I realize that this is probably just whoknows being whoknows, but I actually also really loved Mythologies.

Mythologies was actually my first PS1 game and the only one I had for like..2 months.

Good times.

I didn't hate Mythologies.

I finally saw some footage of Special Forces a few months ago on the Whiskey Media Happy Hour, when they played a few of the MK Spinoff games. The best part about it was that Jeff told the viewers he got a request from Ed Boon asking if he could not play the game on the live stream.

I heard that distgfx loves the Gothic series, pass it on.
I still maintain that Deception was/is the best MK.
I was deceived by Deception, got that sumbitch at launch. I was disappointed in the gameplay, but it had a ton of shit to do. So I played it a bunch then sold it.

On the PS3 is the original Alice still a 1GB download or is it on the disc?

I did this for a lot of PS2 and Gamecube stuff, though some of it I never opened -- I couldn't see myself spending 20+ hours on Odin Sphere, level grinding and whatnot, when I had 360 and PS3 games that I wanted to play, so I just sold it as new and got what I could. The only games I kept (and still haven't really played) were shit like Odama where I couldn't really sell it for much, games like ICO where they were given to me as a gift (thought I thought about dumping it when ICO/SotC HD was confirmed, the $30 or so it goes for wasn't enough to make me sell it), or games like GodHand where I figured someday I really will get around to going back and playing it.

360/PS3 stuff, I usually blast through once and sell immediately after, unless the game really sucks (or something like SR2 PS3 where I'm waiting for my friend to get off his ass and want to coop).

I don't bother selling things if I'm basically giving it away. I'd rather just give them away to friends.

I dumped my Ico and SotC already in anticipation of the HD collection. Can't wait, since I never finished SotC, and I haven't played Ico since it came out, finished it that weekend.

And play God Hand, game is sweet as shit. ^__^

And I spent 65 some hours on Odin Sphere. @__@ Gimme dat HD version and HD Muramasa, plz.

I keep hoping for a God Hand remake -- I played the original for about 15 minutes and died in a saloon in the first stage -- I've not fired it up since, as the PS2 is in a different room from the one I normally spend my time in. :\

I keep hoping for HD remakes of Odin Sphere and (especially) Muramasa too.

Even with an HD remake coming I wouldn't sell my copies of Ico and SOTC. I just love the games too much. They are both up there with my favorite games of all time, so I want to keep them. God Hand I've kept around because I love that game as well, but if they did an HD remake I'd most likely get rid of it to clear up shelf space (assuming I prefer the HD version). That'll never happen anyway though.

I spent quite a bit of time on Odin Sphere as well. Still haven't picked up Muramasa. I'm glad Vanillaware is finally getting some exposure with Dragons Crown

Dammit! Couldn't EA had still locked away Alice with the pass and just had the game on the Blu-Ray?

I'm not good with these visual comparisions when it's little stuff and not major stuff like LA Noire, Bayonetta, etc. but I guess I'll get the PS3 version as while I'm not running out of room on the 360, I am going to have to start micromanaging things more as I'm down to 70GB of the 250 GB HDD being free and with the majority of my gaming being done on 360 I have to be aware of that in the future.

If I have the pop-on triggers for L2/R2 will that alleviate any problems of using the DS3 on this game?

If you use Goozex, you can get some decent points for some of the games that are being redone as HD collections, or you can at least get some points if you're like me and have no one to give the PS2 games away to.

I've probably gotten 2k plus Goozex points getting rid of Ico, SotC, the Sly games, and SH 2/3 in the last few months.

This is a great idea, actually.

I should prune my PS2 collection and dump some shit. :bouncy:

Um, I'm not sure I really haven't had any problems in any game with using L2/R2 on a DS3 as is. In this game I don't think you even really use one of those buttons, the other one is mapped to shrinking which you use a fair amount, but int fairly short bursts, just to look around and see hidden things.

Now granted anything released as a GH is going to be either 100 or 150 points, but for example: I got 400 from Silent Hill 3 and 700 for Zone of the Enders 2 in the last 2 weeks, and 550 for Ico and 300 for Shadow of the Colossus last year.

I'm just so used to the 360 controller that I have to have those things on my DS 3. I got the original ones from whomever made the ones that sold at Game Crazy 3 years ago so I don't know if the Pelican ones sold now are better or worse but I'm so glad I bought 2 sets of those things. Best $8 I ever spent on game accessories.

2 questions that I hope can be answered quickly...

1. How long does Duke Nukem Forever take to beat (rented it from Redbox)
2. How is Come Get Some difficulty? Frustrating or still enjoyable?

Jimbo and I did the exact same thing. $2.14 or $4.28 (depending on if I return it tomorrow by 9) seems the appropriate amount too spend on playing it

Yeah, I have the Pelican ones, and I now feel uncomfortable to not have them. I prefer the 360 controller by far, but the triggers do help make the DS3 better. From what I've played of Alice though, they aren't that important, but I'm still glad I have them since I seem to need to use L2 a lot to shrink.

I think Uraizen beat it in 6 hours or so.

1. I beat it in about 6 hours.
2. You're playing it on console, right? Might wanna just stick with Let's Rock. Corrosive said it was frustrating on Come Get Some.

Wow, I'm surprised people use those PS3 triggers, I'd heard about them before, but I guess they are kind of popular. I mean I don't like the slopped angle of the R2/L2 buttons, but I think I've just gotten used to it at this point.

I refuse to use a PS3 controller without those attachments.

As long as a game doesn't have QTE's that involve tapping L2 or R2 repeatedly I'm fine with them as is. They just aren't made for that.

They're made so the attachments can sell for $5 a pop. Sony made a terrible ass choice with those.

I just avoid using a PS3 controller Unless I absolutely have to.

FANBOI!
Not really, I can respect that.

You're right, gotta stick with controllers that work, like the Kinect, Move, and Wii-mote. ;)
